Only complaint I've heard from a friend playing the beta as some kind of melee norn character is that the game does not favor whatever class he chose for soloing (he appears to be some kind of paladin). He told me that in general ranged characters are better in PvE because of their ability to kite and their mobility, whereas his class is melee and has a bunch of spells that makes sense in groups but not when soloing events. Thats a tiny balance issue for me that I'm sure they'll fix eventually. Still going to wind up buying the game.

I'm surprised there was talk about server uptime and/or server lag and the relationship between the subbing model and the "buy only cosmetics" debate and no one brought up EvE online. Rather expensive sub only (until Aurum for cosmetics... er, monocles) and shit servers for large scale PvP (though they are finally improving with time dilation) for the longest time.. aka years.

I said it before and I'll say it again: "This isn't some philosophical touchy-feely sing-kumbayah-around-a-campfire board where we discuss deeper philosophical principles on what it means to be banned, what is truly "fair" in life, etc." Part of the problem with the internet is that it removes the human aspect of human interaction. So that's why you get all these "ideal" online communities where there are clear-cut rules and mods act out of a guidebook and a ban is a big controversy. They also tolerate a lot of bullshit and stupidity because the community is so protecting of everyone's rights no matter how lazy they are to learn/read. The key is we don't parent/nurture/protect willingly stupid people to become those well-rounded human beings like all those other "old school" places do, because I'm not getting paid to babysit nor tutor nor push him or her out of my hypothetical vagina. Furthermore, that's not why we are here on these forums. So instead, we don't tolerate laziness/stupidity/not-reading at all. If someone is ignorant and shows an inner drive to solve a problem or produce content or be funny or just be a normal person, of course they're going to get help here. Everyone here is a human being. Bottom line.

That stuff genuinely made me angry. Because, you know, it is much easier to look at something you don't understand and use all that brainpower to throw insults around. No seriously, read it twice. Also we're not making you look like a bad guy. You are doing that yourself. I think the Technic team appreciates when the community finds bugs and shares it. However, you're mistaking the "You have no idea" comments as being directed at those who find bugs. That's not it at all, it's putting in the fixes officially that the team says "You have no idea" to. The fact you mix them up and are trying to spin it in your favor is why we are laughing.

"Technic" is the single player version of the Technic Pack. "Tekkit" is the multiplayer version. Both require legitimate Minecraft accounts. No discussion about offline launchers / ways to get around it happen here, locking.

Came in expecting long eloquent speech about moral rights and wrongs ending with the Anon catch phrase and a Guy Fawkes mask. Instead got angry bored troll that can't use 100% of the keyboard.
