  1. The correct way is not to use Dimensional Doors at all, but Mystcraft Linking Books encased in Book Receptables attached to Crystal Portals. Works better than DDoors and is considerably less glitchy. Also much less prone to crash your game and destroy your world save.
  2. You are probably not doing anything wrong (although you still might be, I am no expert on this mod). Atomic Science is not in development any more and drags around a lot of issues. The contents of the mod have been merged with Resonant Induction, which would need to be included in an upcoming Tekkit version, when Atomic Science is dropped out. You could make this change yourself, if you can find a 1.6.4 version of Resonant Induction. Or wait until Tekkit sorts it out, likely in a 1.7 build. As Tekkit devs are a rare sight these days, this might be a long wait. Asking for ETAs is against the rules, btw.
  3. Are you using Fluiducts? If so, make sure to set them to extract mode, and apply a redstone signal to have them actively pump stuff out. You can also use Pneumatic Servos to set them so they only pump without a redstone signal.
  4. Problems with Voltz belong on the Voltz issue tracker.
  5. I have been using Redstone Arsenal gear together with a no-battery Powersuit, and it worked fine. I did have a Flux Capacitor on my hotbar in addition to the Energy Cell in my inventory, maybe that is the difference here.
  6. 130000 may be much, but a Steel Tank can easily scale to hold millions of buckets. It all depends on what you consider large-scale. Also observe that total capacity decreases if you store more than one type of fluid in a Fluid Storage Cell. Same effect as with regular (non-fluid) Storage Cells.
  7. If you have the required resources, an ME network with Extra Cells for liquid storage can store quite a lot. But the largest liquid storage I know is provided by multi-block structures like Railcraft Steel Tanks. Unfortunately, there is currently no mod in Tekkit that provides something like that. You might opt to add such a mod yourself.
  8. bochen meant to say that using the highest-grade armouring is recommended, which is the (expensive) energy shields. Going commando, as Ironclaw suggested, is the next pro tip. Or however you want to call using a Powersuit without any actual power storage. Feels a little like running without underwear. Which can feel good to the wearer at least. Other than that, load in what you like. The in-suit power generation, especially the Solar Module for the helmet, seem to produce random overheating issues, which will instantly kill you if they occur, so maybe forfeit those. In general, avoiding overheating should be your prime concern, because overheating often means complete loss of suit and all inventory if it happens in remote areas. Be careful with the Power Glove as well. It seems to share the overheating counter with the suit. I killed myself three times in quick succession before I found that out. That Railgun is not so useful anyway.
  9. In newer BigReactors versions, the Turbine Fluid Ports have been improved and can now be configured before the Turbine is completely assembled. With the older version, you need to finish the Turbines first, then configure the Ports from inside the reactor core, and only then place the core's Fluid Ports against them. Not elegant, but it works.
  10. The Liquid Nodes allow you to detach Turbines from the core, but there is no other benefit that I know of. You can also use Tesseracts on the ports, which is practically a direct connection without limits. I always build them directly attached, with Fluid ports touching.
  11. I'm not familiar with the actual problem, but you can always prevent an ice block from melting, or form one in the first place, by placing Gelid Cryotheum in the immediate surroundings.
  12. About power usage, an Energetic Infuser will draw quite a lot when recharging a Resonant Jetpack or Resonant Flux Capacitor. But those batteries "only" hold 10 million RF, so even a low-key power plant will produce all you need if your buffer is large enough. I would like energy-consuming teleporters, but right now all methods of teleport are based on "magic" stuff instead of energy. Unless I'm mistaken about QCraft.
  13. In the picture it looks like you could fill an Illuminator Frame with Resonant Ender, when it really is Glowstone. No idea why that is.
  14. The wiki is indeed outdated. Some recipes are still displayed as they were in Tekkit 1.1, and many of the (sometimes drastic) ingame changes have never been reflected on the wiki pages. Use NEI as your primary lookup tool. Also try looking at the mods' own wiki pages for specifics, if you can find them.
  15. And because it's your first post, here is your one-time newbie bonus help: The log says that a file is inaccessible because it's already opened, which usually points to an anti-virus software keeping dibs on that file. Disable the anti-virus software, or create an exception for Tekkit.
  16. That was my problem, too. I had two Turbines attached to a single core, one of them balanced out at 1800 RPM with a limited steam intake, the other taking all excess steam and running around 1750 RPM. The power plant was always chunkloaded, but whenever I restarted the game, BR would somehow "flip" the Turbines internally, so the one without the steam limit would overspeed. I basically had to change steam limits between those Turbines on every game start (local server). I think there is an internal order for Turbines that tends to flip over on reload every time. Chances are good that erobeef fixed this with the code refactoring he did for 0.4 (the Minecraft 1.7 version of the mod).
  17. Glad to be of service. :-)
  18. I've also had trouble balancing several Turbines on one reactor core. I think this is an inherent problem of BigReactors in that early version, and for now we probably have to work around it. Unfortunately, most fixes and improvements are being aimed at Minecraft 1.7 by now, so we can't profit from them while we are still on 1.6.4 with Tekkit.
  19. It indeed isn't the right section. You want to be here.
  20. You need to put the image link into IMG tags to post pictures. It's a bit glitchy on this forum, so you may want to use the Image function instead of spelling the tags out.
  21. We did have that question on the forums a few times. The most commonly-used pack is Sphax PureBDCraft, and I >took the time to spell out how it can be patched for Tekkit. Not really hard. Somebody else was nice and made a Tekkit version of the >Faithful x32 pack. And it seems that Soartex is also still available in a >usable version. I tested Sphax and Faithful. They both work on 1.2.9e and 1.2.10.
  22. 1. The Philosopher's Stone is without function. A Minium Stone will do the job and transmute 2x2 Iron Ingots to Ender Pearls. Those Iron Ingots can be transmuted in turn from simple Obsidian, which can be >auto-generated. If you don't want to use this because of the 'cheating feel', a mob farm is the way to go. But you don't have to build it with Cursed Ground, just use MFR Mob Spawners together with the Grinders. This requires a supply of Mob Essence, which can either come from a regular MFR farm, or another Grinder in a dark room, optionally with Cursed Ground. You can place captured Endermen in the Spawners to guarantee that only those will spawn. It's probably a good idea to spend some time and resources on a proper configurable mob farm, like my example >here. 5. I >covered Quarrying the Nether in my >Quarry guide. But it appears that using Destabilized Redstone to keep the pit flooded is even more efficient than using Gelid Cryotheum. Somewhat cheaper, too.
  23. As far as I am aware, only Mystcraft and Dimensional Doors provide that option. You already mentioned Mystcraft, and DDoors will require you to place one of its doors at the desired coordinates, which will allow you to build a kind of "teleporter room" in any other dimension. This is still indirect, so Mystcraft is the only option for direct teleporting. P.S.: Apart from using Linking Books directly, you could opt to build Mystcraft Portals from Crystal blocks. Add a Book Receptable to the Portal, put your book in, and the Portal should light up.
  24. I think Biomes O'Plenty is a resource hog and asks too high a price for adding "some variety". Tekkit always tries to strike a balance between including a good selection of mods and running decently on comparatively slow machines. I am also concerned how it will or won't interact with Mystcraft's mechanics. Myself, I would like Railcraft back, if only for the Steel Tanks. Any other mod that adds multiblock liquid storage would be nice. And multi-block power storage is also something we could use well with those reactors. But I guess right now is not really the time to include new stuff. With the 1.7 transition pending, focus will be on getting everything over to the other side, and getting it all to cooperate again. The current Tekkit 1.2.x line (based on Minecraft 1.6.4) will likely be frozen when work on the 1.7 version begins.
  25. For what it's worth, maybe doing a fresh Java install could help (in case it's not actually a piece of malware at work). As a not-really-great workaround, you could get some live Linux DVD and boot into that, which should allow you to run the game for the time being (just make sure you put the actual game somewhere it won't vanish when you leave the live environment). I recommend using Linux Mint (Mate) for that, because of the good out-of-the-box driver support. Other than that, Windows reinstall ahoy.
