I have a .exe, it's attached to the taskbar, and it looks pretty good. Everything you're offering, I've already got. Why would I need your version, when the standard launcher does it all already?

I believe it has been disabled to accommodate the storyline better. Unless you go config diving, I don't think it can be activated.

I have seen the book in NEI. Unless another update has been pushed since 2.1.1a(? I think? Possibly? There was an "a" involved.), it should be there. If it doesn't show up in NEI, try reloading the world. If that doesn't work, restart the modpack. If it doesn't work then... well, we'll talk sacrifices and bloodpacts when we get to that.

Steam dynamo needs steam. If you're playing Attack of the B-Team, you can't make steam. Use other dynamos. If you're NOT playing AotBT, look into machines that can produce steam. Also, you normally want to post these topics in the subforum of the modpack it refers to. Otherwise people will need to do a lot of extra work to help you.

You'll need to find a duck. Get some faeces of a tamarin monkey. Slather the tailfeathers of the duck in the faeces, then have it spin three times on top of your monitor, five times on your PC, and one more time on your modem. Make sure it goes clockwise on everything BUT the modem. Then, tell us what kind of message the launcher actually gives you when it fails to log in because "duznt werk, halp" means we can't. Help you, that is.

Addendum to long answer: Before you jump to shout that IC2 isn't dead: yes it is. It's just a barely animated zombie of a mod, with minimal development being done to it (unless you think making it more tedious is development. But that's just a branch of the various versions of the zombie IC2, if I recall correctly). As Munaus said: Thermal Expansion and Big Reactors together equals Industrial Craft 3000. (Because everything is better when it's a thousand. )

That's because Tekkit doesn't go higher than that version. Are you trying to join a server that's running Tekkit Lite? Which is MINECRAFT version 1.4.7?

You're a pupil, and you'll go to school, and classes, and you'll be able to have some adventures. And you'll be able to go the full seven years, and you won't be able to ace school. Your stats would artificially boost the difficulty of certain classes (but never make them easier. You're at school to learn, and learn you will!), so it'd actually be a bit more realistic. Nobody's good at everything! And your results would matter, too! At the end of the seven years, you'll receive your grades and diploma, and you'll be able to apply for jobs! And depending on your grades, you might get accepted for them. Or turned down! You'll have to live with how well you did at school! Did I study? Did I pay attention in class? Great! You'll have aced one or two classes, and probably passed them all. Did I spend a lot of time having adventures? Did that tire me out, so I flunked some tests? Will I be able to apply for a job as Auror? Or will I be a lowly... magical tailor? (I don't know... what's a shitty wizarding job? :P) Sort of like the game Bully, but then all magical, and a little bit different! And don't have it set during the seven years Harry went there. Because then it'd just be another Harry Potter game. At best, have it set during Albus Potter's time there, but make it about the player. Actually the player. Somebody, please get on that! Like, steal the idea! Take full credit, I don't care! I'll know it was me when I'm playing, and I'm okay with it. Just let me play this game!

It's what happens when you throw mods together. Some parts stick, some don't. If I remember well, the issue lay with the Necromancy mod and BoP? Possibly? If so, go bother both of them for a fix. If they've fixed it (and it's for 1.6.4) go test the fix by installing the mod, and give the modpack dev a heads up.

I think what Munaus is trying to tell you is that the packs you mentioned (or certainly AotBT, Hexxit, and Tekkit for Technicpack) were made by the teams of the launcher. THAT'S what makes them official. Not because they're so well loved. There are exceptions - like with Big Dig, and TPPI - which were so immensely popular that the Technic team wanted those packs represented in the launcher. I don't think there's any kind of warning going on, except maybe that you're slightly mistaken as to what makes an official modpack official. And what "official modpack" really means. For somebody in the Technic launcher, FTB isn't an official pack. For somebody in the FTB launcher, Hexxit isn't an official pack. That's my interpretation of Munaus' post anyway. Maybe he was meaning that what you thought. Maybe he meant something completely different.

Fair enough, of course. I was under the impression it was a weekly thing. My bad. I just liked the whole "Well, Thursday works better for us. So Technic Thursday it is!". And then Thursday came and went. Carry on as you were then!
