  1. Go to the server's config, find the redpower.cfg and set logic.enableSounds to 0. This has to be done serverside, not clientside. If you can't access the server files because you're not the owner, then ask the admin to disable it, or replace the lever click sound with a blank one.
  2. Thanks for the tip! I've got a friend who is really into TD games.
  3. FTB Modpack isn't born out of hate, but it did become popular because of hate. It was originally made as a modpack for a custom map. IIRC, it was called "Feed The Beast" because you had to "feed" the "beast" with certain items in order to win. However, people found it was pretty fun outside of custom maps, and it become popular around that time, when Minecraft Forums was all like "Look guys, a modpack which does have permissions!".
  4. L4D2 takes place way before L4D1, just a heads-up. In L4D2 the infection just started, while in L4D it's been going for quite a while. Fun fact: L4D was originally going to be a lot different, until Valve bought Turtle Rock studio. This is the reason why L4D is so much grittier and more polished than L4D2.
  5. Or PewDiePie. Then again, who wouldn't be jealous of someone who can squeeze so much money out of a single game despite playing it 600 times?
  6. Yeah, you are totally right! Technic team is evil and doesn't have permissions! Flower Child was right all along, we really ARE the root of all evil! And of course we will delete your post, because that's what the Minecraft Forums do, right? Oh, wait. This isn't the Minecraft Forum. Your post will probably stay here, for people to laugh at. Technic actually DOES have full, 100% permissions. They just don't flaunt it in your face like that (half-assed) list on the FTB forums. Why not, you ask? The same reason Obama doesn't carry his birth certificate above his head wherever he goes.
  7. Yeah, me too. IMO it was the best one, but the netcode was horrible. You couldn't do anything bigger than LAN play with 3 players, or the game would crash after a while. I always played it with the CnC Holland mod. Now those were the days...
  8. Power Converters was replaced by Transformers. It's basically the same principle. Engine Generators are simply replaced by Pneumatic Generators, which do the exact same thing as Engine Generators. And you now have to use Electric Engines instead of the super lossy Energy Link which took all the EU it could get but only used 24. And you can easily install Railcraft yourself. Just like Power Converters, but Power Converters requires you to edit the block ID's in the config to prevent "block ID already in use" errors.
  9. The only thing you "lose" is EE2, which is replaced by EE3. You only gain mods such as Mystcraft and all the other mods from Tekkit Classic, but updated. All that, and Minecraft 1.4.7.
  10. I personally play with Forestry in Technic every now and then, you can still install it manually, unlike certain "modders". I do like the attitude the ComputerCraft devs have, though. Open-source is definitely the way to go. It's time mod makers learn how to throw that "It's MY mod! MINE!" attitude out of the window. Seriously. It's only causing drama and mud-slinging.
  11. I have no idea what I'm supposed to look at. Try using the default texture pack, and host the image on imgur so I can see it at your native resolution.
  12. In terms of how well it runs, Tekkit Lite runs the same as Classic. And you can install OptiFine into Tekkit Lite.
  13. That looks pretty fake. If it was real and he was smart enough to pull that off, then he'd be smart enough to take a few steps closer. But it looks less fake from a further away viewpoint.
  14. Ffs, you can't link to your own PC. Host it on imgur.
  15. Yes. Install it in modpack.jar. Done.
  16. Seems like a mod is still somehow disallowing crafting. Try completely removing the ForgeEssentials mod from your mods folder temporarily.
  17. There's many different versions for a reason. Some people need the Ultra Edition. Others need the Multicore, and some people just need Standard or Light. Maybe the creator of OptiFine would allow a modpack if it prompted the user which OptiFine version to install. And OptiFine doesn't conflict with any other mods AFAIK.
  18. Except that George Lucas didn't hand the project over to someone else, but ruined it even more.
  19. Yes. Maybe Forge will one day implement a feature to make clients automatically match item and block ID's with the server. Forge already has its own API for Fluids and Chunk Loading, so ID matching may very well be next.
  20. Try to make someone operator or disable Forge Essentials Protection, see if you can make one then. Perhaps the server has disabled Mystcraft due to lag issues, and has done so by disallowing crafting of the books. Poke around a bit in the Forge Essentials configs and see if you can find anything. Try Protection.cfg and banneditems.cfg first.
  21. If you want help, you'll have to post in a way we can comprehend what you're saying.
  22. They can, but they only provide 1 MJ per "stroke". You're better off using Stirling Engines (They're called Steam Engines in Tekkit Classic and Technic 1.2.5) as all-purpose engines.
  23. Make sure the server actually has Mystcraft installed, and actually enabled. Check the config to see if you didn't accidentally disable all the items.
  24. Making a jar mod (base class/core mod) is okay, as long as you have a good reason. NEI has a good reason. EE3 doesn't, hence why it's a forgemod. If it takes 1 hour extra work to make your mod a forgemod instead of a core mod, then take that extra hour.
  25. Wow, they should've done this sooner. Then I would've been able to change worlds a lot easier.
