  1. Modpacks on Technic don't require permission; however if you plan to promote your pack elsewhere it would be required to get it, and it's better to have it anyway.
  2. You can't use Craftbukkit because it doesn't support Forge, which all the mods in Tekkit require. Download Cauldron for Minecraft 1.6.4 (you'll also have to download some libraries manually), and use it instead of the tekkit.jar - it's a merged Bukkit and Forge server. Start it up and it will generate a plugins folder, where you can install Bukkit plugins like a normal server.
  3. MCPC+ no longer downloads all the libraries it needs, only the ones from Mojang. Get the rest from plowmanplow's link.
  4. Thanks, more eyes are always helpful. What does this change? Do you have the source code for the patch, so I can include it in RemIM? I'd guess the reflection is broken again by 1.7.10?
  5. Do you have the same config setting shared across both client and server? The client config controls how fast the client sees the blocks move, and the server config changes how fast they actually move. You'll have visual glitches if they don't match up. If you're playing on singleplayer, or have the same config distributed to servers and clients, there's a bug. It most likely won't be fixed by JAKJ since he hasn't logged in since January, but my fork Remain in Motion is still in active development.
  6. http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/wip-mods/2153202-ore-distribution-tool-move-ores-into-chunks I made this! (Well, most of this, anyway.)
  7. Better modpack searching has been planned/in progress for quite some time.
  8. That would be either a nasty Forge bug or epic sloppiness on the part of Bibliocraft (I'd guess the former).
  9. A skill that controls combinations of held items and target blocks/entities/etc that get cancelled. You might cancel right-clicks if someone without a "ranching" skill tries to right-click a sheep with shears, or stop people from opening the GUIs of various machines without a skill required to use them, or block people from right-clicking seeds onto crops if they don't have a "farming" skill.
  10. Looks great; I'd be all over it except I'm still on 1.6.4 for everything. I bet it would be useful for adventure maps. Would it be possible to get a right-click skill, so on SMP teams of players don't collude by choosing different crafting skills and all using the machines?
  11. This would be a way for players to trade without requiring them to trust each other. Transactions would take the form of contracts, pre-negotiated agreements between a number of parties consisting of a set of terms agreed upon by all. They could be initiated by players or computer peripherals, and would require the agreement of all parties (or a "judge" might be able to overrule this). Contracts could require item transfer. A "simple mode" contract (for servers that allow teleportation between players) would exchange all items immediately once the deal is set, whereas a "realistic mode" contract would require a package item/minecart/block/something else to be transferred to the new owner of the items before they can access their new items (before then, items may be retrieved by their original owner if the transportation fails). Contracts could also cause a chat command to be ran by some of the parties. A computer could be authorized by a player to run commands or sign contracts on their behalf. By including chat commands, contracts would enable paying for a wide variety of Bukkit plugins' functionality, like selling items for Bukkit money or paying someone to transfer their land claim to you.
  12. Are you using Java 7? Mad Science apparently generates classes that claim Java 6 compatibility, but it appears to use Java 7 API.
  13. Sorry, I play custom packs and Mekanism is in pretty much any pack I've had a hand in.
  14. Mekanism has teleporters, I hear.
  15. And just like the Ford T, there are still some Tekkit Classic and Technic SSP enthusiasts out there, but its makers don't want to officially support it because it's so outdated, so it isn't advertised on the front page.
  16. If you plan to promote your pack here, you're OK, but if you'll promote it elsewhere, I'd recommend gathering complete permissions.
  17. You certainly can post a public pack without complete modder permission. Heck, Ultra Modded Survival on the front page of the Platform doesn't have permissions from all the modders, and it's still around and quite popular.
  18. Type it up in the "permissions and licensing" field on the Platform page. Note that while it is a thoughtful thing to do, and demonstrates that extra effort has gone into a pack, to have modders' permission to use their work, it isn't mandatory for Technic modpacks.
  19. I'm going on vacation; I'll be gone for 1 week and maybe scarce the next.

  20. It seems anyone who finds compatible versions of Calclavia's mods is a wizard.

I must be a wizard but I admit it took several decades to discover the secret.

That explains why you smell like brimstone and burnt dog hair.

The one in the pack has an API compatibility issue. It's fine if you don't touch the lasers.

  21. I missed that, thank you for finding it.
  22. Many game recorders for Windows probably use DirectX to get video, which won't work for Minecraft because it uses OpenGL instead of DirectX. You can try http://sourceforge.net/projects/taksi/ on Windows.
