Holding F7 and looking up or down will change the volume, tapping F7 toggles it on/off. MATMOS does nothing, as I currently have no resources folder.

You can always use a world backup from your old version when/if you convert back to your old version of Tekkit - that way it'll be as if nothing happened on your world.

One would believe you have more foresight than most, then. Personally I look at technology in terms of 'how can this be useful to my everyday life?' As such, instantaneous, wireless internet worldwide would in my opinion not only help me (And my awful connection), but help education and communications worldwide. Then it wouldn't be long before it's an amenity similar to electricity - considered necessary for first-world life and they would likely go hand-in-hand in developing underdeveloped areas of the world.

I've read and tried all bug report methods, and so I've come to the conclusion that my computer is hopelessly idiotic. And as such, since I have deleted, redownloaded, and otherwise recreated my resources folder, I'd dearly like my Technic sounds back. Things I have tried: Reinstalling the launcher after removing it completely from my system (Save for backups of worlds) Deleting my resources folder so Technic 'borrows' it from vanilla Redownloading non-launcher vanilla (Works there) Copy/Pasting my resources folder from non-launcher vanilla, where the sounds work Changing my RAM usage from 1.5 GB to 1 GB (Better FPS I've noticed, but still no sound) Waiting as Minecraft downloads the sounds 'on the fly,' to no avail. After all this effort, I've essentially given up. I'd appreciate sounds, at least vanilla sounds, so that I can hear mobs, my footsteps, the little things that made Minecraft magical and immersive - things that I need in order to experience immersion and, after losing them, things I need to regain any serious interest in the Technic Pack or Minecraft. So my real question is, can someone toss me a copy of their 'resources' folder? Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. Maybe we'll just cobble together a new solution that will work so that when someone posts a bug report on this we can answer it accurately (As I've seen no common working solutions to this issue as of yet).

Curse you hacker viking...!

Or instantaneous wireless internet connections worldwide - that's where I see a majority of NASA's money coming from if they do manage it.

Not here; not by most people at least. From what I understand it's not very compatible with Technic/Tekkit, so I'm not concerned about it really.

I can't stand music that sounds droneish. Especially when the lead singer sounds that way - one reason I can not listen to Slayer for more than thirty seconds at a time before feeling the need to smash something.

New to Tekkit; I need advice on a new power source

By the time I do that I usually keep a normal sticky resin farm, or use EE to transmute stuff into sticky resin because I'm lazy and I prefer mining over farming. As for the late-game diamond things, I use EE, and by 'machinery,' yes, I was erroneous. I should say 'machinery and IC2 items.' With the tin cables thing, I could use tin to carry something low-voltage, and I could craft some, or I could reach into my pile of glass fibre cables (Because I know exactly where they are since I'm not cluttered with wires I don't need as of yet) and place those instead. -
Sorry folks, one personal slave at a time - plus when I die, if I haven't perfected cloning I'll have my personality and intellect downloaded into my giant evil supercomputer - try anything and it's nuclear armageddon while my computer self plays pong versus Jorcer's downloaded personality. ;)

I'm glad you're accepting contributions from others - the collaboration of several minds on this as opposed to just one person will help make this TP shine. This kind of open exchange of ideas is what the whole of the Minecraft community should be like - modding or otherwise. ...Not to mention it means faster updates. ;)

Lemme just bullet list this... Even if he does know you don't use plugins (Although they come default with Tekkit), I don't. He wasn't saying EE isn't overpowered. He was just correcting your mistakes - as he said, a lot of those features do come with the default server package. He neglected to mention Pahimar said EE is overpowered because he wasn't disagreeing with you - just, as I said, and as he said, fixing it for you. As for the hostility, I may not be a mod, or have any power whatsoever, but I find it distasteful. As a personal request, can we please have friendly discourse (Whether it's 'EE: OP or not?,' or any other subject)?

New to Tekkit; I need advice on a new power source

...I see contradictory statements. Anyways, I like their efficiency and reusability - that the whole point of me using them. I use copper for the actual machine parts. -
I appreciate that you're on-topic, but the topic has changed since then. I appreciate your input nonetheless, however. :)

I wasn't aware that diamonds had use beyond machinery, EE (EMC storage), early-game equipment, and cables. :s -
You may as well get your practice in, a supervillain gets melancholy often... If you can cook too you might just not die a slow, painful death. Or a quick painful one.

Oh joy, another electronica lover who avoids music he or she may like because it's mainstream and suffers heavily from fanboyism. Personally, I like dubstep a good bit, but not as much as other branches with electronica roots. As for music in general, I often stick to the hardcore side of the spectrum - Classic metal, hard rock ('90's-00's were the best, in my opinion), goth opera metal (Nightwish, Within Temptation, et cetera), and German metal. I can listen to and enjoy almost any music, but really only those genres can make me relax after a long day at work, finally able to sit down in front of my monitor. To those who hate dubstep with a passion but enjoy similar genres: Why? I need to know.

When I take over the world, you shall my personal hug slave, and you shall hug me whenever I feel melancholy. Congratulations, you won't be working on my experimental nuclear fusion chambers with no protective equipment!

New to Tekkit; I need advice on a new power source

To me, especially early-game, power is more important than rubber. I skip past copper/gold/tin/all those other cables, and go for high-efficiency, high-cost, place-it-and-forget-it glass fibre, every time. Might be my OCD (As compared to others'), but I can't have any inefficiency in my power grid if I can help it. Plus the uniformity of almost all wires (Until late-game, super-high-voltage power is being used) being glass fibre feels nicer and works better with compact storage. -

This thread is going a very awkward direction... Sex seems to be tonight's theme whenever I visit a thread. Anyways, he should just become a straight-up supervillain. No sex obligations, plus he can find some sort of outfit that actually flatters him and makes him look scary. -

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Thanks! (Putting it mildly, but I doubt a freakout on the internet would impress anyone) As for sex, while I could normally (At this point, I'm best off helping Roxanne Ritchi Sam stay comfortable and happy), well, I guess that's a fair point. But... I don't even have a rebuttal that makes any sense at all. I'll be back if I find one, but I'm just going to get back to browsing the boards and unwinding.
