  1. yeah so this being the second time you've slipped into some seriously stupid shit as for why you have this particular stick up your ass, how about you answer ragnar's question with a reason that is good enough to convince me not to simply ban you for being a complete toolbox?
  2. and no one would ever impersonate said modders, or try to report things in their place. none of them would report packs that don't violate their own licenses out of spite or anything like that either obviously so there would be no need for human moderation of the system, right? totally easy!
  3. they aren't listing "your mod", they are listing a pack that includes your mod. if that mod should not be in that pack, deal with the guy who made the pack. you are asking for monitoring. how else would permissions be enforced? someone would have to go through and make sure the mods in each pack have permissions if that is what was required. that does not happen on its own or by magic. let's all remember, once again, that you don't actually have any skin in this game and you're pushing really, really hard on a very hypothetical point.
  4. it only needs to include the things that are changed from a vanilla install. the folder structure should be the same as vanilla minecraft's with the addition of the folders forge uses (configs, mods, coremods). any mods that must go into minecraft.jar, like forge, are placed in modpack.jar inside the bin folder.
  5. you're right, so if you make a mod pack we will absolutely not force you to list it on the platform. in fact, if you do list it there, you can even remove it yourself whenever you want! additionally, have you tried to get a site you don't control that talks about something you did removed from google lately? try it sometime.
  6. you're welcome. I hope it brings you great joy.
  7. say what? that we are not policing modpack permissions for packs listed in the technic platform? we already did. multiple times.
  8. ah, this was what you were trying to say from the start. that is what I figured. there is a very, VERY large difference between exploding bees, and bringing down a website like the technic platform. there will be no flames, only tons of people having fun with minecraft the way they want to. terrible, right? edit: permissions are not our responsibility to enforce. so yes, basically we don't give a shit. it's encouraged but not required.
  9. all the official technic packs (tekkit, voltz, hack/mine, technic) have complete permissions. you can even ask slowpoke if you don't believe me.
  10. prior to the technic platform, DNS pack, plus* packs, and a dozen other public packs didn't exist? no. only FTB is interested in being the permissions police. it's not on the technic team to sift through every pack ever to verify permissions. that is the pack creators job, and it has always been so. I also like how you only include the "respected" mod developers as being worth asking about permissions. you're a funny guy. edit: to be honest I hope that every single one of the packs that gets made asks every author for permissions. every. last. one. "be careful what you wish for" is an important lesson to learn.
  11. it's less "promotes" and more "lists", but either way... so what?
  12. technic platform: melts in your mouth, not in your hand.
  13. easiest way would probably be to move the saves from one directory to the other.
  14. great, nothing to worry about then!
  15. removed the link, since even with the wrong url it would still help their SEO.
  16. are they using mods you made without permissions?
  17. basically, we aren't the permissions police and never will be. the pack creators are responsible for obtaining them.
  18. platform is the future, and the future... is now.
  19. yeah... that is the kind of crap that makes me facepalm. it's like, "oh you want this thing? well too bad we don't want your dirty money, buy worthless keys for a 1 in 1,239,570,937,519,386,519,783,655,326,863,598,356,935 chance at it if you want your precious cool item so bad you loser!" makes 0 sense.
  20. wait, did they remove the quaggan pack from direct sale? it used to be under style, is that no longer the case? because if so that is the kind of crap I am talking about. it's unbreakable choir bells all over again.
  21. you can replace those sound files with blank ones. that'd probably be an easy way to go about it. there may also be a mod out there somewhere that does it, I'm sure you're not the only one.
  22. I have GW2 and played it quite a bit. been rather dissatisfied with it lately and the last couple patches haven't helped. after 3 80s I'm pretty much of the opinion that the only good parts of the game are when you're leveling. end game is rife with conflicting incentives, grinds, and design failures. thankfully there's no sub fee so I am hoping they pull a D3 and start patching in stuff that people actually want and enjoy to improve the experience instead of stuff that is a paltry reward for far too much work like they have now. edit: it'd also be nice if they put stuff in their cash shop that was worth buying as well. there's pretty much only 1 thing in there that's cool and that's the quaggan backpack.
  23. uhhh... I have dropped my glass of water on the floor?
  24. is there a link or something? I am too lazy to google it myself.
