  1. Is more than one person trying to use the same login? Each person connecting to a server needs to have a unique login. A server will not allow more than one person with the same login to connect, or maybe that might even interfere with the Technic launcher.
  2. Did you install most recent Java from java.com, or any Java for that matter since it seems like you have none? If you have a 64-bit OS make sure that you have 64-bit Java, because even earier Win7 if you have not updated Internet Explorer at java.com might only automatically install 32-bit Java. In Linux openjdk-7-jre works. Have you purchased minecraft at some point in time (so you have a minecraft/mojang login) and does regular minecraft launcher from minecraft.net work? If that does not work, tekkit minecraft likely will not.
  3. That is NOT a current version of Java, that is an old Java 6 version. After you install most recent Java, it should offer to check if you still have any older Java versions lurking on your computer and offer to remove them. I wonder how many others with launch issues are due to old and/or multiple Java versions.
  4. I tried it in single player tekkit 1.2.8c and it worked. I did not have a chance to make singularity, so I just grabbed a couple of pieces in cheat mode. I pulverized a couple of ender pearls for the dust. With 2 pieces of Singularity and 2 Ender Pearl Dust, 1 TNT block and a stick switch in an Obsidian pit, I ended up with 2 pair of Quantum Entangled Singularity similar to the video in link above.
  5. Are you possibly using the wrong type of enderpearl dust? From http://ae1.ae-mod.info/Quantum-Entangled-Singularity/ "Note that the ender pearl dust from portal gun is not in the ore dictinoary, and will not work"
  6. One source of emeralds to make minium dust is villagers. I found villagers that would take wheat or wool for emeralds and got 9 emeralds within 2 MC days (extra one for a tinker table). I used their own farms for wheat and there were plenty of sheep near the plains village. It just took some time to gather the quantity of wheat and wool.
  7. Engines no longer power TE machines. Use a dynamo (you mentioned you have lava) or yellowrium reactor.
  8. 1.2.8c server works fine in 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04 with openjdk-7 (7u51-2.4.4-0ubuntu0.12.04.2). I have been running openjdk-7 ever since one mod in Tekkit Classic server (but not client) required that a long time ago back it was the latest Tekkit.
  9. Check the power saving settings of your computer. That might be set to hibernate or shut it down when idle for a period of time. What OS?
  10. If you accumulate a combination of 8 diamonds or emeralds you can make a Minium Stone (unless EE3 is disabled or not working) which can then craft an enderpearl from 4 iron.
  11. In the F3 screen see if pauses are associated with momentarily doing hundreds of chunk updates for an instant. I had that issue in Linux until I bumped Java memory use in the launcher from 1 GB to 2 GB. Although, someone else running Windows with similar issue said in another thread that there was some other general setting in Windows limiting Java memory use to 512 MB that he had to change.
  12. Didn't notice the Tekkit Classic until after I posted, so deleted what I said. Are you trying to feed lava to a steam or combustion engine, because that is what your 1st post mentioned?
  13. BC "engines" or that to kinesis pipe no longer powers TE machines (different energy units). That is why "engines" will no longer automatically face TE machines and kinesis pipe does not seem to connect to TE machines. TE "dynamos" can power TE machines directly or through TE energy conduit. Or a charged TE energy cell (or with power running to it) can power TE machines directly or through TE energy conduit (the energy cell itself now controls in/out instead of using a wrench on energy conduit end). So I got started with a steam dynamo and once you have a supply of lava you can now carry 8, 16, or more cups of lava in portable tanks for a magmatic dynamo until you get resources to set up a pump and/or teseracts. I have not confirmed if TE energy conduit can still power BC machines like it used to (I heard that energy conduit can convert TE energy to BC, but not input BC energy).
  14. You can select a different (older) Tekkit version manually from the little gear under Tekkit in the launcher. But I don't think you can easily change which MC version you use for a newer Tekkit since an older MC may not have blocks that a newer Tekkit version assumes MC has natively. So easiest would be to go back to a Tekkit version that used MC 1.5.1 (not sure which Tekkit version that is, but something before Tekkit 1.1.10 which uses MC 1.5.2).
  15. I did find a couple of natural rift gates and so far one of them had a chest right away with 9 world threads. Not enough to do much with yet, but I went outside and stashed them before going further. Apparently dying does not send you to limbo (I died in a lava trap and respawned), it is if those things with the mouths above can see you. I learned that after escaping a tripwire tnt trap and after covering up holes in the floor going back into the room to check out a chest behind iron bars. I got sent to limbo twice before I realized that I had to cover up holes blown in the ceiling in dimensions where those things are. So I have been cautiously exploring and labeling doors with signs, including some that are definite traps. In one case I went through a door into a hallway and various wall blocks were pushing across (reminded me of Indiana Jones), looked to my immediate right and saw tnt, looked at my feet and saw a pressure plate, and ducked back out the door. I found a pair of chests with a tripwire trap, but didn't have a shears with me. PS: I guess dying can send you to limbo, because I just died from a tnt trap and went to limbo. Maybe when you die in a dimension, if you click Respawn you respawn normally without your stuff, and if you do not click Respawn you get sent to limbo and keep your stuff. But if you start seeing enderman particals in a dimension you need to figure out how those things above can see you, because they can also teleport you to limbo. I now have 26 world threads (found 19 in one of 2 chests after I sheared the tripwire). I stashed that but during further exploration a triple chest trap blew me into limbo again where I returned to the overworld far away. Not too far to get back with a boat in an MC day, but found another natural dimensional gateway to explore near where I returned from limbo
  16. I still could not get the Aldul with Glass Bell to work with any wood fuel or coal (I even tried a bucket of lava) after updating EE3 to 1.6.4-0.1.0.2. Then it finally dawned on me that maybe it did not work because I placed the Aldul before it worked. So I broke down the Aldul and Glass Bell with a stone pick, placed them again, and then the Aldul worked to make the Minium Stone using sticks for fuel. I used 2 diamonds and 6 emeralds to make the minium dust because I was short on diamonds (only had 3 at the time) and could get emeralds from villagers for 17 or 21 wool in an area crawling with sheep.
  17. I don't know what happens if you smelt the raw ore directly. But once I pulverize it, the dust of both types mix together into the same stack and the dust smelts into all the same type of ingots. It is just a pain needing more storage slots for separate stacks of raw ore.
  18. You cannot use the 3 types of BC engines for TE devices now (different type of energy now). But you can start out powering the pulverizer (and other TE machines) by putting a Steam Dynamo against it until you get resources for energy cell, energy conduit, and magmatic (lava) dynamo.
  19. Using the new Tekkit version with an old world is "not recommended" due to block ID changes. But look through the forums for things that others have tried. Energy units changed for TE energy cells and there are now multiple types of energy cells and power conduit. You can no longer power TE machines directly with BC engines, I had to make a steam dynamo to get started, but now use magmatic dynamo to charge a power cell for powering leadstone energy conduit to machines. You can make portable tanks that carry 8 to 16 cups of lava (maybe even more once you have resources). Note that the energy cells now have configuration like TE machines for energy input/output sides (like other TE machines have for item in/out), instead of switching energy conduit ends with a wrench or cresent hammer. I hear that energy conduit should change TE energy to BC energy, but not the other way around. But I have not tried BC machines yet, so not sure if a TE energy cell can convert power those through TE energy conduit (like redstone energy conduit used to).
  20. If anyone still wants to run previous Tekkit version for a server that has not upgraded, there is a little gear under Tekkit in the launcher that you can use to change the version. However, you might also want to set up a separate directory for that in case you want to switch between that and current version. For example in .technic/modpacks (probably .technicmodpacks for Windows users) I added a tekkit-1.1.10 directory for previous version, so I could manually switch to that version and directory in the gear for the old version (so it does not have to redownload files and lose local waypoints everytime you switch). For current tekkit use tekkitmain directory instead (tekkit directory is for Tekkit Classic).
  21. I normally have no lag in regular minecraft, which before they controlled it to be easier on video cards (less heat) would sometimes bump from around 150 to to 300-400 fps (i5 650 3.2 GHz, Nvidia GTX 550 Ti running 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04 Linux). Currently in Balanced, Far, and Fancy, MC or Tekkit generally runs 120 fps most of the time (in vanilla MC it never falls to 60). The current Tekkit in SSP with default 1 GB would occasionally pause momentarily and it seemed to be associated with sudden spikes loading ~300 chunks for an instant during periods of not much chunk activity at all while just walking around digging tunnels and ores in a familiar area. But last night I explored new territory (boat, then walking) and even though I had been in that area for a couple of MC days, while trying to quickly build a cobble building near a natural dimensional doors rift or portal as night approached, the lag/pauses became so unbarable that I could not hardly place blocks where I wanted to. So in the launcher I bumped java memory from 1 GB to 2 GB and that seems to work much better even during momentary heavy chunk loading. Linux normally does not have any system wide java memory limits (actually I use openjdk), it uses what you tell it to. The only other thing I have running at the time is xchat for lightly used IRC related to minecraft/tekkit on a shell account system.
  22. Generally it is best to leave server-ip= blank in server.properties, so minecraft can bind to ANY IP on your computer. Better that than to specify a wrong IP. Where are you getting that IP 25.174.58.79 from (which is a UK Ministry of Defense IP)? UK Ministry of Defense or US Dept. of Defense IP addresses are sometimes used by mobile phone companies (like T-Mobile) for their internal mobile data network because they are not actually used on the internet and to avoid conflict with normal private IP ranges for WiFi. But I have never used Hamachi, so I do not know if it also uses such IP addresses. In any case, that IP address 25.174.58.79 is not directly accessible from the internet, it is behind another router or the Hamachi VPN. Once you blank out server-ip= in server.properties and restart the server, see if it runs properly and if you can connect to its LAN IP from another computer on your LAN. When you are sure that is working and not firewalled locally, you can try to figure out the Hamachi end of it.
  23. Where to you find or get "World Thread" 5936 for making Dimensional Doors related items? There is no NEI recipe and I have not found anything on it web searching yet.
  24. How do you get Leadstone or Hardened Energy Conduit in the new Tekkit version to accept power input. Right clicking an end does not switch it like Redstone Energy Conduit or Liquiduct used to, it just disconnects or reconnects the end, and no energy passes through it at all. I have not been to the nether yet, so I have not tried Redstone Energy Conduit in the new version. I can charge an energy cell with directly connected steam dynamo (stirling engine will not), and power a TE machine by placing the energy cell directly on it, but that does not help to power multiple machines. Nevermind, found another post that the energy cell itself now has input/output configuration instead of the conduit
  25. I hadn't even noticed the little gear under the Tekkit logo, so when someone on IRC mentioned the gear for manually setting Tekkit version, I first opened the gear for the Technic Launcher, which was only for launcher version. And when I did try the new version (in a new SSP world) I found that the Thermal Expansion items (energy cells, portable tanks, and conduit) for energy storage/movement changed to different energy/quantity types and multiple types with different capacities.
