I'm a bit oldschool despite my age :D

Oasis are one of favourites, they're kinda old now (broke up a few years ago) but they are good

Nickleback are also another favourite, who doesn't like Nickleback seriously?

But yeah similar music to that so in a nutshell - rock

*rubs chin

What do you think of that Mrfly?

OH GOD NOT NICKLEBACK! Ugh I have had enough of him after countless hours in school listening to my iPod on shuffle. His music all sound the same.

My taste in music shifts a lot, but Dream Theater has always consistently stayed on top as one of the most talented bands I know. Metropolis Pt. II: Scenes of a Memory in its entirety still blows me away. They are on a totally different level of songwriting.

Still sad about Mike Portnoy leaving.

I have ridiculously precise and varied tastes in music. My big problem is that I only like some songs in each genre, and there isn't any I really like. I can say I love most of classic. I've also been really into Rammstein and Avenged Sevenfold lately. And unsurprisingly,I listen to a lot of video game music.

Lady Gaga. Her music is ok. But her live performance? Now that is just mindblowing!

I've also been to 2 AC/DC concerts and Lordi (before they got famous) and U.D.O.

Metal is good, when it's not completely thrash. Rock is even better.

Bob Seger, Dr. Feelgood, Joan Jett and Rainbow and so forth...

If you can't stand rock'n'roll. Then it's too late now...

Didn't we have one of these threads already?

Or was it deleted during forum migration?

Good lad. I prefer the electronica side of the spectrum. House, trance, *avoiding dubstep like the plague*, electro, etc.

Oh joy, another electronica lover who avoids music he or she may like because it's mainstream and suffers heavily from fanboyism. Personally, I like dubstep a good bit, but not as much as other branches with electronica roots.

As for music in general, I often stick to the hardcore side of the spectrum - Classic metal, hard rock ('90's-00's were the best, in my opinion), goth opera metal (Nightwish, Within Temptation, et cetera), and German metal.

I can listen to and enjoy almost any music, but really only those genres can make me relax after a long day at work, finally able to sit down in front of my monitor.

To those who hate dubstep with a passion but enjoy similar genres: Why? I need to know.

The thing is, a lot of Dubstep actually isn't.

If it hasn't got a two-step beat, then it's not Dubstep.

Still anything that's like or is Dubstep I won't like, I'm sorry that's just who I am :D

The one thing I do find impressive about Dubstep is Dubstep beat-boxing now that's something else

Basically, most people that do dubstep do it wrong. The good dubstep, I shuffle quietly under the "electro house" carpet, leaving only the "wubwub" stuff as dubstep. I like many songs that I classify as electro house that others might call dubstep. :)
