Jay? Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 http://www.minecraftforum.net/news/442-want-to-win-a-free-copy-of-minecraft/ "We here at the Minecraft Forum are fortunate to have one of the best gaming communities out there, for what is arguably one of the best games available. Now, we want to thank you for being such a great community, with a free Minecraft gift code, and we have 100 to give away! How do you get one? That's the easy part!" Didn't catch it? "one of the best gaming communities out there" Dear mcforums: What are you smoking? This isn't a technic pride thing, i wouldn't call us on of the best gaming communities either, but your forums are downright PAINFUL.
Synthetica Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 http://www.minecraftforum.net/news/442-want-to-win-a-free-copy-of-minecraft/ What are you smoking? Guess it's MY weed that I sold them. I knew they were onto something when they bought it.
Tomprower Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Your right about that, I saw this thread about a guy who wants to buy Mc accs for people and over seven fucking hundred signed up for it and only 79 got their wish. Also the off topic section has a sticky thread that sends them to dragon-cave, I mean seriously get something better to do
linkthegamer Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Dear mcforums: What are you smoking? This isn't a technic pride thing, i wouldn't call us on of the best gaming communities either, but your forums are downright PAINFUL. We here at Technic Forums are pretty bad, but in a kind of fun way. MCF is just kinda stupid and whiny, not everyone but most the players seem to be. From the hearsay here it sounds like a few of the more knowledgeable members, the modders, are drama queens. I have brake down of the MC community: MCF = Drama Queens~ (I SUE YOU, PikachuLover25!) Yogscast Forums = Goons? (I haven't been on SA since they mentioned my green balls so I don't know how today's goons are.) and yognaughts (Yogscast quote here). Technic Forums = Asshats!!! (You know you are. ) MPGH/OLGH MC subforums = Griefers D8 ($5 for my greifing client with free porn.)
Tomprower Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 ($5 for my greifing client with free porn.) Damn, You have to let Team Avo know about that griefing client, they can use wallhack while fapping to that
linkthegamer Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Damn, You have to let Team Avo know about that griefing client, they can use wallhack while fapping to that But what if they fap so much they can't grief... actually that is a good idea.
Beer Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Forums are why I drink. MC Forums is why I get alcohol poisoning and have to change my bionic liver on a daily basis.
Wolfechu Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Yogscast Forums = Goons? (I haven't been on SA since they mentioned my green balls so I don't know how today's goons are.) Eh, kind of. Most of the actual Yogs team and higher-ups on the forums are goons (given they started as a goon WoW guild); there's also Pudding Huxtable, who puts together the Yogbox. The remaining 99% of the forums look to be mcforums types (i.e. average age, 12) who fixate on Simon and Lewis and find it the height of sartorial humour to make Jaffa Cake references. There are more sophisticated types hanging out there, but the signal:noise ratio is pretty high. The average member would last about five minutes on the actual SA forums.
Ragnar Homsar Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Eh, kind of. They'd probably make an intro topic for themselves in GBS, asking why they have a Stupid Newbie avatar.
Wolfechu Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Hell, probably less. They'd probably make an intro topic for themselves in GBS, asking why they have a Stupid Newbie avatar. I was assuming it'd take them at least five minutes to type that one-line topic ;)

Good point, I fixed that by adding "and yognaughts (Yogscast quote here)." Hehe that would be fun to watch them try and survive there.
Revelator Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Every community got their mingebags one way or another (Garry's mod ref. if you didn't know) Been in several communities, most of them have tried to mention "That they are the best", honestly there are no "best" out there, its only a matter of choice. I use several forums, "Everyone for my needs" could mention several bad communities as well but I'm not gonna, since then I would probably have to explain in details to the fanboys of those communities about why my hatred for those specific ones. In the end, where the are people there are mingebags, where there are mingebags there are trolls, where there are trolls there are assholes ... and so on and so on. In the end, every forum you are actually able to speak openly about stuff in one way or another (even if it is bad talk about that community, not talking about "OMG they suck cuz they banned me" or anything like that, but rather constructive criticism) without getting banned I'm fine with it. Can't stand communities where people are banned just for "Doing bad PR" for that community tho. and I have noticed several over the years who does that (and even less so) Take one community I'm at, this developer he now and then gets mad... proclaims that he is the only developer.. blablabla, when things doesn't go his way he shuts down the whole damn fucking community. (Have happened several times) ofc other people setups their unofficial forums and such for that community since there are active players and all) Anyhow...... basically saying "There are worse communities out there" *coughs* "The truth is out there" (:

Grandkuma Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 "one of the best gaming communities out there" Immediatly looking at your avatar after reading that gave me quite the chuckle.

I know this is completely way off the road, but that seems a lot like the majority of Criken's fans. Most of them just regurgitate stuff from his videos. Kinda funny when you're in the group chat on Steam. Random people either pop in and then leave, others join, regurgitate whatever they remember from his videos, and then leave. I think I know exactly what you're talking about.

PuddingHuxtable Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Sounds like it would be fun. Kinda Off-topic: Wonder how long I would last on SA... (Likely not very long) Oh they'd just LOVE you! Especially that little avatar of yours. :allears:
Beer Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I'd get banned. Ran a SAMP server a year or so ago when it was popular and our server was #1 for awhile until the owner self destructed. But we clashed heads with a lot of goonies. Enough to where they started their own server in spite of us. I was the #2 guy and took a fair share of heat.
Captain Man Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I think my favorite thing to rage about on the MC forums are the people who always say "I like this mod diamond diamond diamond diamond diamond diamond diamond diamond diamond diamond." I'll extend that to anyone who uses those MC smileys excessively. Normal excessive smiley is bad enough but something about the MC ones irks me, I guess it's that I get annoyed by them and don't want to associate them with the game. I don't want to find a diamond in game and think of those brats. But, you guys. Well, some times you guys piss me off too, but hey, that's what real friends are for, am I right? You guys are pretty legitimate.
linkthegamer Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Oh they'd just LOVE you! Especially that little avatar of yours. Actually a version of it I did was mentioned on there, lovely chaps, mentioned something about my furry green balls if I do recall.
Killer-of-Lawyers Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Actually a version of it I did was mentioned on there, lovely chaps, mentioned something about my furry green balls if I do recall. Are you claiming that your balls, are, in fact, not furry and green?
linkthegamer Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Are you claiming that your balls, are, in fact, not furry and green? Never denied it, that is just what they said. Umm... search for "Creature Systems" it might still be buried somewhere in the archives there (which if still like it was years ago, requires you have the paid goon membership). XP

XP The $25 dollars I've spent on my SA Membership has been some of the best $25 dollars I have spent in my entire life, no joke. I've gotten so much from that place.

I've gotten so much from that place. Ditto. I have gotten so many laughs out of the following things on SA, all for $25: - Tails gets Trolled - "CPS Took My Kids" in E/N - disgusting goony goon lives in a pit of a trailer and even FYAD posters are disgusted; the thread is amazing and is in the December 2011 goldmine - LoseThos - the best operating system ever (PudHux and Killer of Lawyers can back me on this) - The DOTA/LoL threads; it's fun to see people get extremely mad at video games - All of YOSPOS - The Reddit and TVTropes threads - :pedophiles: :reddit: :biotruths: :mrapig: :tvtropes: - The Political Cartoons Thread - lookin' like a fool with your pants on the ground
