acmr212 Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 attempting.... yes.... succeeding... no.... for one... Yandex does not work anymore. Also weebly has a 5mb file size max for all uploads.
HenrikoMagnifico Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 I am having big trouble right now, I can't seem to be able to install and download my newly updated modpack because of this error; I've done just as I always have when uploading and copy-pasting the URL, and I've tried to solve it using many methods - of which none have worked. A more detailed error description here:

Jake1702 Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 Maybe try http://www.filepup.net/ (not 100% sure if it works but I believe after you click the download button, the link it gives you may work. Also because in the account settings it mentions direct links so I assume they work)

As I said, after YOU click the download button, the link it gives you is WHAT YOU SHOULD PUT as the location in the modpack settings. On a side note, I think there should be the option to input at least TWO links into the modpack settings page, so if one link goes down, it uses the second link, and therefore people will still be able to play your modpack. Are you sure you copied the 'direct' link and edited it? works for me and mine looks more like this: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/[link].zip?dl=1 Also make sure your modpack zip file is actually named 'modpack.zip'. (You probably already know this). EDIT: Just realised how long ago you posted this... xD. Edited February 11, 2017 by profjb
Auraelus Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 I dug out this old account for the sole purpose of warning everyone NOT TO USE SERVER-BIT. Server-Bit only gives you 100 MB of storage - less than any other free cloud storage site I've seen. And despite all their claims of wanting to benefit the community, by providing free hosting, they very clearly show on the corner of your screen that if you want a usable amount of space, you have to pay! Making a nigh-useless service is one thing, but having the balls to pretend that it's some benevolent free service? That's disgusting and awful. You're the kind of person who ruins communities, not saves them.
clulss Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Found this great website the genrates a direct download link for almost any site that you're hosting from. This really helps and I do it for my modpack. http://bit.ly/2ZcWl4t I found this great site that automatically turns your share link into a direct download link. It's really cool and helpful (not sponsored/ad) and I used it for my pack and it works beautifully. Supports most file sharers as well. http://bit.ly/2ZcWl4t
LeviTheOtaku Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 You can use https://disk.yandex.com/ to host up to 10GB for free, and you use https://github.com/wldhx/yadisk-direct to get direct link (which works on technic) I forgot to add, the direct links are too long for technic, but you can use bit.ly to shorten them, and it will still work as a direct link.

The link you get by the method Tommsy64 provided will yield a direct link, but mediafire can and does change that link in order to prevent exactly what you are doing. Use Dropbox or copy.com or some other service which specifically supports direct links. link dosnt work jsut says bad gateway
