jakj Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Wouldn't be hard to do one-way glass where the other side is a solid block, but if you mean like real one-way glass where the other side acts as a mirror, that would be ridiculously difficult (e.g., cctv mod) and definitely not worth the effort.
charcharmunro Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Secret Rooms mod already has something like that, Elmarko.
elmarko98 Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Oh never heard of that, I'll have a look thanks but is it compatible with technic
gotyaoi Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 Yeah, probably won't be doing one way glass. Anyway, as an update, since I have a little time before the textures are done, I decided to backport the new things to the 1.2.5 version. Just a bunch of copy-pasta for the most part, besides dealing with changed MCP names, so no big deal.
okamikk Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 How about one-way glass? Or is that really hard to do? Because there'd be nothing better that to stare at people through a window without them being able to see you. you need the hidden rooms mod damn, ninja'd
The Merchant of Menace Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 It doesn't really count as being ninja'd when the ninja made their post over a day ago.
okamikk Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 their post didn't show up for me... :didnotlookfornextpage:
gotyaoi Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 Okay, 1.3.2 uploaded and an upgraded version of 1.2.5 uploaded. Texture for the upgraded Glass Furnace and for the GUIs by Lethosos. Glass Furnace now needs both an adjacent lava source block and to be fed mobs to run. Base Glass Furnace can hold 100 mob soul units or whatever you want to call them(get 1 unit from hostile mobs or players, 5 from animals and 10 from baby animals), and takes 10 seconds to run. Upgraded version gets can hold 200 units, gets double the amount when you feed it and takes 5 seconds to run. To get the upgraded version, completely fill the soul buffer, put 5 lava source blocks next to it and feed it a baby animal.
The Merchant of Menace Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 We have to feed it mods? I suppose I can spare a few of my sound mods.
Xylord Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 We have to feed it mods? I suppose I can spare a few of my sound mods. I'm ready to sacrifice MAtmos to it anytime.
charcharmunro Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Either this is a bug or I'm missing something, but when you put glass on the bottom and the dye on the top, you get black glass. There's also the thing where it seems to work with anything with the colour in the name, rather than just the dye itself... So I made cyan stained glass with cyan stained glass. Actually, it seems to work with anything, just if the combination doesn't work, it makes black glass, regardless of what's in... And then I got pink glass from cyan wool and cyan wool... I think something's a bit funky here.
gotyaoi Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 ...I may have forgotten to test for that. Without checking at the moment, it's probably because glass is metadata 0, giving you stained glass with metadata 0, which is black. I'll check and fix it in a hour or two.
charcharmunro Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Yeah, it seems more like it checks the metadata, not if it's glass or a dye or anything. So I can make pink glass with wood and a sword.
GreenWolf13 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Yeah, it seems more like it checks the metadata, not if it's glass or a dye or anything. So I can make pink glass with wood and a sword. What are you doing with your wood and sword? *shudders*
charcharmunro Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 ...Okay, yeah, it doesn't seem to do anything besides check if there is something in the two slots, and make stained glass based on the metadata of the item in the bottom.
gotyaoi Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 Yeah, I feel silly. At the end of the function where it checks if it's allowed to make glass, I had return true instead of return false. T_T Fixed and reuploaded. Thanks for finding that and let me know if you spot any other weirdness.
Lethosos Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I just wanna say, I'm quite proud to have helped even a little bit on this mod. *goes back to poking the meat texture for no reason at all*
gotyaoi Posted September 24, 2012 Author Posted September 24, 2012 Thanks again. I can't wait to see the full texture pack you're making. Keep up the good work.
Ghastly_Ghost Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 I certainly like the idea I'm guilty of using ice blocks here and there as an alternative to plain old glass
gotyaoi Posted December 9, 2012 Author Posted December 9, 2012 Good news everyone! I'm not dead! Also, updated to 1.4.5. Link is in the OP. As usual, let me know if you spot any bugs. Also also, got rid of the bukkit versions.
Lethosos Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Yay! Bring out the dancing girls and the booze! :D
gotyaoi Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 version for 1.4.6 is here. Shift clicking machines is now taken care of in vanilla. Huzzah! Let me know if anything seems off. BIG HONKING WARNING for people who've used this mod in previous versions! Had to change the defaults for the ids to 2000, 2001 and 2002 instead of 200, 201 and 202. Your old conf files may not work, and any worlds will need a tool like mcedit or midas gold to convert them. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Lethosos Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Not a big deal, I have to do this every time a major update comes around and my modpack gets rebuilt. Perhaps I should make myself a big spreadsheet of IDs instead.
