Check through the configs for update notification options Not all mods have these so you will have to suffer on a few counts
-
Just don't hit remember me
-

Well go tell CJ to chill out and let the team put it back in then, because we didn't meet his explicit permissions requirements with Lite he requested that we remove it, since then the team haven't put it in to any packs
-
It's the same error, try redownloading the pack As for NOTHING has changed, well clearly something has, your minecraft or modpack.jar have changed
-
It's a site error org.spoutcraft.launcher.exceptions.RestfulAPIException: Error accessing URL [http://solder.technicpack.net/api/modpack/?include=full] at org.spoutcraft.launcher.rest.RestAPI.getRestObject(RestAPI.java:376) at org.spoutcraft.launcher.rest.RestAPI.setupDefault(RestAPI.java:394) at org.spoutcraft.launcher.rest.RestAPI.getDefault(RestAPI.java:197) at org.spoutcraft.launcher.rest.RestAPI.getDefaults(RestAPI.java:204) at org.spoutcraft.launcher.technic.PackMap$1.run(PackMap.java:196) Caused by: java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 502 for URL: http://solder.technicpack.net/api/modpack/?include=full at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source) at org.spoutcraft.launcher.rest.RestAPI.getRestObject(RestAPI.java:366) ... 4 more HTTP response code 502 means Bad gateway, retry later, beyond that nothing you can do

Then clearly you haven't looked around that much I for one host a pack on my web server, bandwidth cap is 100 tb and I will NEVER reach that with the throughput I have And I highly doubt that over 1000 packs all use dropbox In fact I can guarantee it because there are packs out there using Solder, which requires a webserver EDIT: Second most popular pack uses Solder
-
Again, it's free, those authors can not receive payment for putting their platforms, it's against the rules So if cash earned = 0, then cash paid will 9 times out of 10 will be 0
-
Because it's free, and everyone knows Dropbox, but primarily, because it's free
-
Then it's the job of the modpack author to use different hosting, NOT the job of the Technic team force someone to use different hosting
-
Don't buy it, learn by doing
-
Apparently you are I just downloaded Hexxit, and then installed Optifine, it didn't crash If you want I'll upload the jar for you to download
-
http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/tech-nic-pack.145974 Try that, if that doesn't work, either rebuild the pack yourself (all the files are publicly available) or search the platform like I just did
-
You can add the classes to the immibis microblocks config HOWEVER, don't do it to the RedNet cables, I did so earlier today, the covers didn't work and the cables were unbreakable (or more specifically they come back immediately but without any connections to blocks)
-
Check your Options, the key for customising the armor may be bound to multiple tasks which are then conflicting, or it might not be bound at all
-
If you created the pack with solder and linked your account you still need to make a pack on the site with the slug name of your pack AND then edit the pack and link it to solder If you get 500 errors when creating the pack unlink your account while you create the pack

Maxis010 replied to Devo_008's topic in Tekkit Discussion
http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/board-rules-and-guidelines.3918/ http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/rules-and-guidelines-for-server-posts.24957/ And this is the wrong section, there is a server section further down -
He's got you there Dash P.S It might take you a minute if you don't use Ctrl + F
-
Vas? Mojang has given you MORE hassle, my dear Cheap however will tekkit survive I kid, have fun with that
-
Go to the Forge Essentials website, download a 1.5.2 version, drop it in your mods folder...
-
i have an idea what you can put in technic launcher
Maxis010 replied to parkerstrand's topic in Off Topic Discussion
How about, put it on Platform and let people add it, you know, like how things are already done? -
You require a Solder installation, linking directly to the zip does not support versioning

No plugins folder for new 1.0.6 tekkit server
Maxis010 replied to Tekkit-FlowCraft's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Install a bridge plugin (MCPC, BukkitForge etc) and then create the folder -
What's with all the rudeness on the forums?
Maxis010 replied to CookingMeat's topic in The Whale Box
I'm sorry, but that wasn't sarcastic, I was completely serious, we have seen white knights on here, defending those that don't like the snarky responses, and it's them vs the forum a lot of the time, and every time it's been 1 vs the forum the 1 snaps first, turns it to a flame war, and gets punished I'm not saying that being sarcastic is a free pass around here, what I am saying is no-one here is going to hold your hand through everything, you aren't going to change things here while the administration is allowing this, to a degree at least Now I suggest that you go and re-read my post, without the belief that it's sarcastic If you want to see sarcasm let's resurrect my reply to your first topic, now with 200% more sarcasm and 100% less help For anyone reading this you will need to open this link as well so you can see what I'm quoting from http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/cannot-remove-a-modpack.48299/#post-397033 Really? You can't see the tech support section, well on behalf of the administration I do apologize, I'll go tell them to rename the Bug Report section located on the front page of the forums, clearly the fact that it's hidden at the bottom of the page where no-one will EVER look is also a problem so I'll just ask them REALLY nicely JUST for you to stop working on the pack and rearrange the website so that it's blatantly obvious where you can stick your help request I even managed to get passive aggressive there, I'm on a roll right now Well I'm sure that all the moderators will be able to breathe easy knowing that a first time poster has given them permission, I can only feel sorry for all the times that regular users haven't said it's quite alright for moderators to do their job on here, they must have been quaking in their little ug boots at what might have happened when someone saw that a moderator assigned to his duty by the forum administration had tampered with a topic Well now, I'm sure that the mods will get right on that, because you have told them they MUST leave you a shadow link, I'm positive that should this topic be moved they will have a notice in bright neon lights just waiting to show you the way to your topic's new home Oh well if YOU say it's OK to bump your topic then I'll just completely disregard the no bumping rule because if a moderator warns me about bumping this topic I'll just turn around to CheapShot and say that that moderator is wrong because I had your permission to bump this topic The rules can't hold sway over me, I have the go ahead from someone who joined the forums today ... Is this over the top, Most likely. so I'm not going to be surprised if I get a warning for this, but it's also a prime example of how to really sarcasm and completely non-productive. IE how not to post Anyone else see what I did there? -
I host Source servers, a Bukkit server and a modpack server On the Source servers people have to download the maps, after they have downloaded the game itself, this is done in game but still needs to be done It is however optional, they could not connect to my server, at no point have I, the host, forced them to download the map, however, even though I am host I still require that download to be done On the Bukkit server this is not the case, because it runs between the server and the client, changing the data being sent and received, but I am still the host and they still have to download the game itself On the modpack server everyone that wants to play on there must download the launcher and my pack, but I am still HOST 3 instances of hosting, 3 different degrees of download Please learn from this, Hosting a server does not mean you are handling all of the content for the player The client mods are necessary because the server can't teach the unmodified client how to use the mods In Source the client has all the content, same as tekkit, only it is part of Vanilla With Bukkit what you are running is a hooking system, similar to SourceMod for Source games The client needs nothing because it is hooking the data, modifying it, and passing it on
