This is usually not a Technic issue. Authentication and core file download always occurs with Mojang servers, and this can happen when either those servers are having problems, or your client cannot reach them for some reason. Check with Mojang support about server status, and make sure no security software on your system is actively blocking access to them. Yes, this does happen. If you need further assistance, take your issue to the tracker, where it belongs.

You are in luck. There is a whole forum section dedicated to custom modpacks and their creation. And another one where the mod basics are discussed. I suggest you head over there and get involved. Tekkit Discussion is reserved for discussing the gameplay and lore of the Tekkit modpack only.
-
You are having the (extremely common) issue described in this ticket. Follow one of the two possible solutions and it should work. Next time, take your issue to the tracker. Also use Pastebin or a similar service to upload logs.
-
I know that some mods change the interface, but I guess it's not trivial to do and requires some coding. Look around on Minecraftforum, maybe somebody made a mod that does what you want.
-
Please take issues to the tracker. Also make sure to include >crash logs, not launcher logs.

For the Wheat production, why not simply have a small autofarm produce it indefinitely and feed into a DSU, which is connected to the ME network via Storage Bus? On-demand production only goes so far, and some things simply cannot be set up that way. You can use level emitters to activate production when a certain item count drops below a certain threshold, so depending on production latency and speed, you can make sure that a certain amount of the item is always ready. For oxygen, maybe check if you can tesseract it directly as a liquid. If that fails, tesseract (or Ender-chest) filled containers and send back empty ones. Then build an automated refilling chain back on the Overworld. I have seen the Yogscast do just that, although they used the (vastly better) Mekanism oxygen generation. Galacticraft machines are notoriously hard to automate, and Mekanism is not in Tekkit. So good luck with that.
-
Finally? This is just an AE automation of what has been standard for >quite a while. A clunky one at that. The Cryotheum-based Obsidian generator would have been a way more efficient choice here, although it cannot be made to work on-demand.
-
If that is the official download, it would of course point at the correct JAR. I also do not believe that this user has used the launch script.

That sounds like you are trying to run it on Java 8. Which does not work. You can either install the unsupported hotfix or downgrade to the recommended Java 7 update 71. Which requires that you first uninstall Java 8, reboot, and only then install Java 7. And from now on, take all issues to the tracker, where they belong.
-
A few machines can be clobbered into cooperation using extremely sophisticated contraptions, you mean. Look at Mekanism, it does the very things you mention. It is the better Galacticraft, just lacking spaceships yet.
-
Alternatively, patch your modpack to become compatible with Java 8. This is, however, unsupported. And next time, take your issues to the tracker, where they belong.

The problem with Galacticraft is not about its theme, but about execution and badly implemented concepts. It does not follow best practices, or even common practices, when it comes to ore processing, item transfer, automation or power solutions. It actively breaks the game to create some kind of super-darkness during moon nights. Its progression path via dungeons (!) is asinine. This mod needs a major overhaul before I will consider it "not shit any more". As for a positive example for how it's done, look at Mekanism. I would greatly enjoy if Mekanism added spaceships and planet-dimensions, which would render the only "killer feature" of Galacticraft obsolete. "Mek" already has solar cells, oxygen production and personal gear. Not far to manned space travel from there. That is, of course, my personal opinion.

Tekkit Crashes when mod is added to client.

If you modify your Tekkit, you are automatically building a custom modpack, which is not supported as a Tekkit installation. Custom modpacks are discussed on Platform Pagoda. It is laudable that you held back on spilling the log. Please use Pastebin or a similar web service to post logs, and all will be fine. So what you do now is upload your log to Pastebin and head over to Platform Pagoda. Or self-report your post and kindly ask a moderator to move it there. -
If you love Galacticraft to be in modpacks, you should look into making your machines cooperate better with other mods. They cannot be automated properly, and I think your ore processing chain doesn't fit into the usual modpack gameplay at all. Take a look at CoFH Core and other essential factory mods, and try to be more of a teamplayer. Of course these are not issues that can be addressed quickly, but you might take note of them going forward. I applaud the fixes in build 1096, though, and I'm sure it will be included once anybody finds time to actually work on Tekkit again.
-
I'm pretty sure you cannot pulverize Galacticraft-specific ores. Galacticraft is notorious for not working together with other mods in any way - you can hardly automate the stuff, either. Part of the reason why I consider it a shitty mod, and misplaced in Tekkit.
-
You could use backpacks to stack more items in your inventory. I usually make a Golden Bag of Holding early on to keep stuff. An Ender Pouch is also useful for all kinds of things. Of course, the end-all solution is that Quantum Link Chamber AetherPirate suggested. If you have a sufficiently advanced ME network, that is.
-
If you have the means to power it, maybe a Force Field would make for a more formidable dome. I also don't know if Hardened Glass will count to keep oxygen inside. No idea which light sources will and won't work. I stopped using Galacticraft early on, once I found out how retarded it really was.

Newbie needs help with Tekkit Wooden Transport Pipe

Maybe you will find >this useful, then. -
Bring some light sources that work on the moon. Torches won't work, but Galacticraft adds Glowstone Torches. I think that the mod author tinkered with the light system somehow (to the point of breaking the game) to make it pitch black during moon nights and disable most vision enhancements, so be prepared to depart when night falls. As you may have already guessed, moon nights are about two ingame weeks long.

Relax. This is not a Technic issue, otherwise the tracker and forums would be swamped with angry users. Mojang notably had outages yesterday, so that might be the cause. Apart from that, check your security software. Sometimes, that tends to block access to some servers. If you visit Mojang support, you will notice that they are still flagging Minecraft.net as shaky. Since authentification for all Minecraft installations runs through their servers, it won't work when these are down. Some call this intrusive DRM.
-
All issues go on the tracker. You should locate the >crash logs, which are much more useful for diagnosis. The launcher log is rather redundant in this case.
-
All issues go on the tracker, the one for Tekkit Classic in this case. Keep in mind that the three modpacks sharing the name Tekkit are completely independent and have their own forums and trackers: Tekkit (main) is here, and then there are Classic and Lite.

Newbie needs help with Tekkit Wooden Transport Pipe
Curunir replied to aimer43's topic in Tekkit Discussion
The old Buildcraft pipes are practically Stone Age equipment at this point. They should still work somehow, but there are infinitely better alternatives in Itemducts and Extra Utilities Transfer Pipes. With Itemducts, wrench the connection to the attached inventory to extract mode (visible red arrow) and apply a redstone signal to extract. Works even without the signal with Thermal Expansion machines. When using Extra Utilities Pipes, a Transfer Node is necessary for extraction. -
modpack crashing on startup (suspecting it's ProjectRed). Any fix?
Curunir replied to CocoaMix86's topic in Platform Pagoda
Wrong forum. You want to be here to discuss your custom modpack. You should make sure that you have actual 1.7.10-compatible versions of all mods you want.
