Do not PM mods or admins with bug reports. You will not get special private help. We don't have time to do that.

In the end, those who moderate the forums make the calls. It's up to them to enforce these rules at their discretion. Sure they may let something slide once or twice, but don't get upset when you are punished for being an idiot. Don't email anyone saying "WHY WAS I PUNISHED I DIDN'T BREAK THE RULES I HATE YOU!" Just sit it out and learn from it instead.
The one thing that wont happen ever is you being punished for no reason. No one will kick you out without just cause. We really don't have time to do that. If you are ejected, then there is a reason and you should try and grow from the experience.
This isn't some philosophical touchy-feely sing-kumbayah-around-a-campfire board where we discuss deeper philosophical principles on what it means to be banned, what is truly "fair" in life, etc. We are all cool people (yes, human beings) so treating everyone like one will get you much further than trying to pull an "academic know-it-all, everyone else is a brainless monkey" on other people, let alone staff.

Hey my fellow minecraftians, I'm IDED of IDEDOnline and the youtube channel of the same name.
I make tutorials based on specific mods rather than mod packs so they are shorter and easier watching and can be picked up based on the mod you want to use rather than sitting through 30 mins of lets play to learn just a couple things.
I'm still new to the video recording side of things but I have a high quality setup to try and give you the highest quality tutorials for your time.

What unique about my videos? 
Well I'm a mature gamer at 29 years of age so as you can imagine I have a deeper voice and I come from a entertainment background so public speaking isn't new to me and thus means that my videos are clear and easy to understand, but doesn't mean I don't make mess ups.
I do try to keep it interesting and informative with a dash of crazy (I'm trying to hold it back).
 
Series posted are in time order so you can see how my style and quality have progressed so far but admittedly I'm only a month in and I'm getting a lot of views so I must be doing something right, what do you think? any and all responses welcome as I need to learn what I can do to improve.

Everyone has minecraft videos. That's not even an overstatement anymore. I've even got a few somewhere collecting dust. Youtube makes it easy to upload yourself playing. Everyone wants to be the next yogscast.

At the moment there's no standard format for OP's, but please do put effort into your posts. We won't punish you if you don't, but people wont watch your videos, and that's a punishment in and of itself.

Talk about yourself, and what's unique about you or your videos
Talk about what you do or will do in the videos
Perhaps post a screencap from the videos as a teaser

Good Let's plays will be stickied, so it's in your interest to try and catch our attention in your thread.

In this ep. I make a Tinker's Construct area!

In a way to rekindle my love for Tekkit and hopefully help my girlfriend understand it again (she doesn't get the new Tekkit very well), I've decided to launch a new series of videos based on getting to Mars!
 
I'm using Tekkit 1.2.7b as my base with the addition of nothing else. This is my first foray into Youtube based video making so I don't have the series uploaded yet as I'm still editing the starting parts of it in Premiere, but I do have a Big Reactors video on my page you can look at to see how bad I suck...and I expect to start getting the Mars Express content up soon!

Currently, the only adventure mods there are in the Technic Launcher are really Hexxit and Hack Slash Mine.
 
Hack Slash Mine was discontinued and could have been very enjoyable if it wasn't. There are quite a number of enjoyable systems there that should be fleshed out.
 
Hexxit is really just dull, easy, and lacks depth. The more noticable portions of it are the Hexxit Armors, Twilight Forest, and the dungeons around the world. The Hexxit Armor was really quite easy to acquire if you knew where to find it and granted you abilities that make much of the game very easy. The Twilight Forest, although expansive and beautiful, only had a few noticable areas that repeated often. None of the dungeons are particularly interesting and often waste time. It really lost its charm after the first month it released, which was the time I played before it bored me.
 
Why do we have to settle for such a mediocre modpack? Its balancing was flawed and to be honest, the only reason it stands out is because it is the only recent one.

Rules & Guidelines for thread title
It should be in the format:

*1 - The slug of the modpack. Only for advertisements posted in Platform: Custom Server Zone.
*2 - The actual modpack version. Not Minecraft version. Stating latest or recommended is not allowed.
*3 - Only if your server is greylisted.
Examples:

This way you can get most of the important stuff you are looking for from a server in the thread title. Do not use redundant or useless tags. Just the important information. You can list anything else in your server post.

Rules & Guidelines for thread post
The thread must have:
Server IP Server rules Any mods removed/disabled from the base Modpack A list of all banned items that are from mods not listed as disabled. Not a picture, a list. Please note: These are banned items, not restricted. All major plugins on your server A small section describing the server, even if it's just "I was tired of playing alone, so I put this up, come join me" The expected uptime of the server, 24/7, only Tuesdays, whatever A little bit about the community that is currently playing, or the kind of player you want in your server Any details needed for Whitelist/Greylist applications Some effort. We just need to see that you put some effort into your post, that it was something you thought about for at least a few minutes, rather than just posting. Pictures of awesome stuff on your server, spawn, going really in depth into what and why the server, and so forth. Custom Modpacks ran through Technic Platform should be posted in "Platform: Custom Server Zone" following the same rules above with the inclusion of a link to the modpack's Platform page. Whitelist vs Greylist vs Open servers:
A whitelist server require an application to join the server in the first place. Whitelisted servers belong in the Whitelist server section. Whitelist servers have no further restrictions Grey(or gray)list servers require an application to do anything on the server. Greylist servers belong in the whitelist section. Greylist servers have no further restrictions. Open servers are available for play immediately or near immediately. Open servers belong in the Open server section. Open servers must never have applications to play. All other applications, such as for staff, must be handled so as your thread does not get bumped for it. The center, color, text size, and text font tags outside of headers or similar uses. Anything that could be considered facilitating piracy. For example, stating that your server is an offlinemode server. Racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. language. A donation button in the thread. Your server cannot be "pay 2 play" or any other way of requiring players to pay money before connecting. Applications in the Open Servers forums. Server posts that do not conform to these standards will be rejected. Meeting most of the criteria in the Higher Quality section is the only way to be a candidate for Deluxing (Do not request Deluxe. If you are a diamond in the rough we will find you. Attempting to buy or beg for Deluxe will result in blacklisting.)

READ THE STICKIES! There are threads stickied at the top of each section and they contain important information. If it's clear you haven't read them then you might be probated depending on the whim of the moderators. Don't take the risk, read stickied threads!

Lose the smug and leave the moderation to the moderators. Do not triple post, and avoid double posting - You have an edit button. USE IT. Do not BUMP threads - This is worthless and annoying and counts as a low effort post. No discussing illegal activities - The internet is a big place. Take it somewhere we aren't responsible for. This includes piracy talk. Yarr! No Racial slurs or sexism - Yeah yeah, shock value humor. We get it. Get bent. No spamming - Posting multiple similar threads, posting the same thing multiple times, or posting junk threads. No advertising or soliciting - You need moderator permission to advertise any offsite program or service. Current exceptions include Links to Let's Plays with ads. No pay-to-play servers - If you are still interested, message an admin, however by default we don't allow those types of servers. No unverified download links - DO NOT post links to Technic Launchers or Tekkit Servers or any other download without clearing it through an admin first. Its a security risk, don't do it. No misusing the report feature - Reporting a post means it must break the rules in some way. Using it to ask for help or favors will is naughty naughty! No ban evasion - We will find out. If you can't wait for a probation to run out, you're better off unplugging your computer. No mod sass - We really don't care if you think you're right. We are in charge for a reason. No Impersonating Staff - This includes adding fake mod edits to your posts. Don't be a dickbag - (A bag of dicks) No Adf.ly links - This board is an adf.ly free zone. This is a catch all and includes adcraft or anything else that gives someone money for clicking a link. You will be banned for posting any links like that. No image leeching - If you have a picture you want to share such as a minecraft screenshot or comic, do not link it from an outside website. Use an image host to rehost it. Websites like www.imgur.com let you paste in the link to the image and it rehosts it for you. No visible adult images - If it's NSFW (not safe for work) then either just post a link with NSFW or before it, or don't post it. No posting memes - Everyone has seen them 100 times. Be original. You should be starting the next great joke here that gets beaten into the ground until everyone is sick of it. Like that one with the dog wearing the guys shoes? I love that one. They don't even fit!
