Tekkit using 120 kilobytes/s+ with two people
Teraku replied to youeatp00's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Try removing Dimensional Doors and see what happens. -
Ah, thanks.
-
Right, so I used to charge my Powersuits with IC2. However, now that IC2 is gone, how am I going to recharge my Powersuits? Since neither IC2 nor UE is in the pack, how am I supposed to recharge the equipment?
-
Remember that Tesseracts are lossy. For short-ish distances, you might want to use Redstone Energy Conduits.
-
BC gives a lot of low-level and basic stuff that's necessary. Engines and pipes come to mind. Redstone Energy Cells can store MJ's. Just make multiple of them and link them together. Particularly huge setups can benefit from Tesseracts.
-
Yeah, IC2 was basically "Get compact solars and shit". You now have to actually utilize other mods. There's a reason why these mods are in a pack: They work okay individually, but they work great when put together.
-
Illuminators? What mod are they from?
-
That's not how things are at all. IC2 and RP2 are removed because they are redundant and they would've had to wait a month for them to update. That's all. Of course you can't use Blutricity without RP2. RedPower is the only thing that produced or used Blutricity anyway. Also, you can easily store power with Redstone Energy Cells.
-
I do miss RedPower's lamps, unfortunately. I liked how the fixtures looked.
-
Yeah, IC2 has gotten kinda stale for me. The only thing I currently miss is machines being faster. So we really just need upgrades for Thermal Expansion's machines, and we'll be good to go.

Open launch.bat with a Text Editor. Check to see if it's running TekkitLite.jar, not minecraft_server.jar.
-
Pro tip: Use Stirling Engines for actual results They're like generators. Personally, I always found BuildCraft's engines to fit Minecraft better than IC²'s generators and solar panels and stuff. Also, MJ is from BuildCraft, IC2 uses EU. Use Redstone Energy Cells or something. I was about to say "What happened to power converters?", but then I realized Power Converters isn't necessary anymore.

Damn, I find MFR actually useful now. Previously, I only used the conveyor belts (Mob grinders made easy!).
-
Ah, that's nice. Still, what happened to Factorization? I got the barrels covered, but I kinda liked the machines.
-
I was wondering, where is Factorization in the new Tekkit? I kinda miss the barrels.
-
It seems Thermal Expansion isn't being loaded at all.
-
So basically, I'm getting this error. I know I can change a config file to get rid of this error, but I thought Thermal Expansion was in Tekkit?
-
Looks more "realistic". I have to say I like the idea of wall wiring more, but floaty wire is fine as well.
-
If it's not staying in the launcher, someone will make a custom modpack for it. Like what happened with Technic 1.2.5.

Instead of BukkitForge, you could try MCPC-Plus. It's basically Bukkit with Forge support built-in, so it supports Bukkit plugins natively. http://www.mcportcentral.co.za/index.php?topic=4657.0

Minecraft has weird rules about spawning. How high is the ceiling above the spawn point?
-
Dunno, haven't had a chance to try them out yet. I just hope we can cover them up like in RP2. Either through Immibis' microblocks or Facades. Also, I heard MFR has a customizable Redstone Control block or something. It's basically a single thing that you can configure to mimic the behaviour of any RP2 logic gate.

For Bukkit plugins, get MCPC-Plus. It's basically Bukkit with Forge support. Replace TekkitLite.jar with MCPC-Plus and you're good to go. Honestly, it's not like the pack makers were like "hurr durr i cant wait to be a useless piece of shit all day and remove all these mods". I'm pretty sure they thought long and hard about it. The Technic Platform exists for a reason, you know. If you really want IC2 back, put it in yourself, it's like 5 minutes work, also counting the time it takes to get your modpack on the Technic Platform. Besides, IC2 and RP2 have been superseded by other mods. Thermal Expansion basically does everything IC2 did. MineFactory Reloaded now handles the Redstone wiring stuff better than RP2 did, and Immibis has his own Microblocks that work with any opaque blocks any mod may add. Eloraam has said she won't be adding a toggle because we'll have to "wait for them to get better".
