  1. What message does it give when someone gets kicked? Is the connection lost, or is it a Login Error?
  2. Probably not. People are staying away from Windows 8 as it's a nightmare to work with due to a huge lack of drivers, functionality and the people who use it. The tech-savvy people tend to stay away from Windows 8, so developers don't see a need to include Windows 8 in their compatibility as their products are made for tech-savvy people. This might be fixed soon. Or later. You can also downgrade to Windows 7 without reinstalling the entire PC. Here's a link.
  3. I'm also kinda saddened by this. I caught myself and a friend literally making iron with UU-Matter we got from Solar Panels, which kinda ruined the game because neither one of us felt like mining. The game basically turned into waiting until we could make more Solar Arrays with the Iron we got from UU-Matter. The Mass Fabricator could use some rebalancing, such as removing all recipes which make ores.
  4. RedPower Blutricity always moves around by equalizing itself. If you have a huge amount of battery boxes wired up to each other, and you look at the energy count of one, that'll also be the energy count of the others. It's a bit weird, since most machines will only start working when the Battery Box is relatively full.
  5. Try installing Optifine on your normal Minecraft.
  6. You don't seem to understand me. Go into the Launcher Options and tick the box for developer builds if it's not set to that already. You don't download Tekkit from the Technic site, only the launcher.
  7. I've had this problem too, but only when switching to Fullscreen immediately after the menu loads.
  8. Forcefields aren't the end-all be-all ultimate defense. They can be broken. They're meant to be breakable. Block cutter upgrades won't stop a griefer.
  9. The prime example of why most server admins disable EE. Tekkit is more fun without it. Stuff like Energy Collectors just gives free items. Solar Panels combined with Mass Fabricators sadly give the same effect, but to a lesser extent.
  10. Pro tip: Don't use Windows 8. It has a myriad of issues. Couple that with the myriad of issues Java has, and you're just asking for trouble.
  11. Either the server or you are outdated. Try manual build selection in the Technic launcher.
  12. The mod maker is just balancing the mod to make it more fun. Going into Creative mode after 6 hours of playing isn't exactly fun. Might as well skip EE completely and just give yourself Creative mode.
  13. Yeah, it means 2 pipes are attached on that frequency. But the frequency indicator is pretty glitchy, I wouldn't mind it. Just keep track of your teleport pipes.
  14. Oh, does NOT prevent. Kinda a weird thing to say. But I don't think there's a way, since Tekkit keeps using the disk. An option would be to input save-off every time you start, but then it would not save.
  15. Yeah, deleting either the reference file or the main class file should work. IIRC, Mo' Creatures can be disabled in options by turning off all mobs apart from the Vanilla ones.
  16. There's plenty of mods for this for Vanilla. Look around, and install the mod into modpack.jar if it goes in the jar. You should still play Technic for SSP anyway, it features everything from Tekkit, but more. If Mo' Creatures and Thaumcraft bother you that much, you can disable them.
  17. Disable the feature that turns your computer to sleep. Was that so hard?
  18. How the hell are you even using a reactor which outputs over 2400 EU/t without having it switched off all the time? Weird, the above setup works for me when I manually generate 2400 EU/t. You might want to try running a HV cable or HV Transformer on two sides of the reactor and then switching the reactor on. The reactor should split the EU. If it does not, then that's a bug. Make absolutely sure they're both equal distances away.
  19. A 10.* address is really only used for private networks. 99% of people with a normal home network have 192.168.* instead of anything else as local IP.
  20. I'd point out what is wrong with that post (Everything), but I'm afraid you'll be just as stupid as before.
  21. 500 MB of RAM on a Tekkit server is pretty low once stuff like Buildcraft and IC2 get going.
  22. Pro tip: Vanish is pretty annoying sometimes and will make you join "silently". This means that you'll join vanished, without being able to interact with stuff. Try typing /vanish to become visible, or try typing "/vanish toggle nointeract".
  23. Well, I think RedPower has its own "Fake Player", like Buildcraft has. Try OP'ing [Redpower]. Also, it's technically another player, meaning that it will take up quite some RAM, which explains the dropout. Try playing a little with your client and server's allocated RAM.
  24. Actually, Orebfuscator does this exactly. It basically sends the client a jumbled mess of ores, stone and wood instead of whatever's underground, as long as they can't see it. Yes, this can cause problems. Yes, you CAN alter it so no "glitches" happen.
