  1. What's the point of saying "Technic is not to be confused with other modpacks"? That's like saying "Technic is Technic". Wow, my head hurts. Anyhow, no. People shouldn't waste time catering to ignorant kids.
  2. From what I've read, it does. It's basically the waiting aspect of EE2 you experience before you turn godlike, except it lasts through the entire game and doesn't actually get you anywhere. The author intentionally locked down being able to change that, too. He's just a huge douche. What he is really trying to say is either: 1: "Technic please include my mod into your pack", but is too proud to admit it and instead says "NO COMPATIBILITY WITH TECHNIC UNTIL THEY ASK ME!!". or: 2: "Fuck you Technic, FTB is better anyway butthurt butthurt dumb dumb dumb da-dumb"
  3. It's got to do with decimal numbers, basically. They get truncated a little, which decreases the generator's "precision" once you go further. Past a certain point, the number will have changed so much from what it's supposed to be that the generation just fails.
  4. I wasn't being hostile. If you think that was hostile, then trust me, you don't want to be anywhere near the Explosm forums. The point is, Nuking doesn't help. All it does is make a huge crater which would otherwise be occupied by taint blocks anyway. Since Taint is a surface infection, you could have simply used some purification items to clean it up and nothing would happen. But now you're stuck with a crater. Like I said, Taint doesn't spread over blocks. It spreads in the air and infects blocks. The blocks are totally inert and don't do anything themselves unless you get an infected tree. There is no "preventing blocks of spreading" when the blocks themselves don't spread.
  5. Or when RedPower is updated, make a cycle of deployers taking water from a 1x1 pool using buckets, and then dumping the bucket's contents back into another 1x1 pool. Repeat.

Aww, come on Negative Man. He probably wasn't serious. ...right? Please tell me OP isn't serious.
  7. Even better idea. Now I can make full sets of useful tools and armor, only to burn it!
  8. I've tried to explain to you why that is wrong. I suggest you read the last line of my post. Tainted blocks aren't taint itself, they're symptoms of taint. Taint will eventually spread to other chunks, doesn't matter if there's a massive crater.
  9. General rule of thumb in most communities is that it's okay to post in threads which are still on page one. Depending on how active the forums in question are, subsequent pages might also be acceptable.
  10. Taint is not a surface infection. The point is, the blocks are in the Taint, but Taint is not in the blocks. Dropping a nuke will just give you a pretty little purple crater. Nuking even more will just make the taint invisible until it bleeds into other chunks.
  11. Serious Sam, Jazz Jackrabbit 2, Unreal Tournament, No One Lives Forever. Those were the best.
  12. Saints Row 2 for PC. Full of bugs, but if you install Gentlemen of the Row mod, all of those bugs get fixed. SR2 is honestly one of the best games I have ever played. Seriously. Saints Row: The Third is NOTHING compared to SR2. It has great coop, too!
  13. Like I said, I added the contents of modpack.jar to minecraft_server.jar. In Technic, minecraft.jar itself remains untouched and gets loaded into memory, then patched by modpack.jar. By that logic, everything should be installed. But I think my main problem here is that I tried to install 1.4.2 mods into a 1.4.4 server. So I still need a 1.4.2 jar, anyone know where I can get one legit?
  14. So ever since 1.3 came out and SSP and SMP were merged, I've been wondering: Is there any way to install mods, specifically Technic, into a Vanilla Minecraft 1.4.2 server? I like playing Technic with friends, but I find the Open To LAN function a bit awkward and I prefer having access to a console window. I've already tried copying the contents of my technicssp folder to the server launcher's folder and then adding the contents of modpack.jar to minecraft_server.jar, but that obviously didn't work. There HAS to be a way to do this, especially since mods work just fine when opening to LAN. On that note, I need a 1.4.2 server jar. I think Mojang simply kept old versions on their amazon servers, but I can't find a link. Any way to do this?
  15. The EU will only travel through the cable if it has somewhere to go. If there are no machines which need powering and all storage units connected to the cable are full, the electricity will not enter the wire at all and the EU-Reader will not read anything.
  16. This becomes immediately apparent when comparing these forums to something like the Minecraft Forums or Steam Forums. Just tell people to deal with the lack of EE. If they keep annoying you, ban them.
  17. One day. Give me one IRL day in Tekkit or Technic containing EE2 and I'll fly around nuking everything in my full gem armor and ring of arcana. EE3 is going to be less about free stuff and more about exchanging multiple lower-tier items for one higher-tier item and vice-versa.
  18. It's like comparing Apples and Oranges. They're both great mods. You know what Technic's foundation is? Mods which work together. There is no "best" mod. Although I don't like how cheat-y EE2 is. It definitely brings a new way of playing, but I don't like how unbalanced it is in SMP.
  19. Go into Cheat Mode in NEI and see if Rain is disabled for some reason.
  20. Congratulations, you disregarded the complete point of the Magic Launcher. So really, all you're doing is adding the contents of modpack.jar to Minecraft.jar and then copying the entire content of the Tekkit folder to .minecraft instead. I'd like for you to try one thing: Fire up Tekkit through Technic Launcher again, but before you login, go into the options, and set Memory to Allocate to 512 MB. You'll see it runs just as smooth as when you would follow the video.
  21. Do the same, but in the server's config. NetherOres.cfg also exists in server installations.
  22. No One Lives Forever, No One Lives Forever 2, F.E.A.R. and its expansions. Forgotten classics. These were the best games I have ever played in my entire damn life.
  23. You can disable Macerator recipes in NetherOres.cfg. That will make them only usable in furnaces, where they don't get doubled. Go to AppData/Roaming/.techniclauncher/(modpackhere)/config to find NetherOres.cfg. So if I were to do this in Technic, I'd go to .techniclauncher/technicssp/config/NetherOres.cfg and set EnableMaceratorRecipes to =false.
  24. You can also lock NEI in Recipe mode completely by editing NEI.cfg in the config folder.
