java 32 is more than likely installed due to the browsers needing it and being 32bit. Now, I doubt you have 8gb allocated to the technic launcher because it wouldn't launch if you had all your ram allocated. The system simply wont allow it when java asks. secondly, you only get the option to allocate more than 2gb if java 64bit is properly installed and detected by the launcher in which case 4gb is more than adequate to allocate and run full bore max settings. The most I have seen technic use in this configuration is 2.27gb of ram.

I also played on an Ataria 7400 with programs I had to type into the machine and store on cassette. The occasional Intelivision, Collecovision, and Atari 7800 at friends houses.

my only negative comment would be that the main walls are fairly monochromatic. pretty good nonetheless.

using your same argument, why did the FTB team make a launcher at all instead of simply using the Technic launcher?

pretty much it means that too many people are listening to the preacher. If more mod authors are going to switch to a stance of exclusivity to a modpack it will lead to people quitting minecraft altogether. If this is truly the direction the mod authors want to take the community than I will frankly be done playing at all. It defeats the purpose of making a mod for people to play and then limit the audience that is allowed to play it. I am curious as to what slowpoke's thoughts are with regards to FTB and its usage as well as usage of technic/tekkit. I mean, does he want NOBODY to use the technic launcher in his perfect world? And separately does he want ONLY his launcher to be used by the users? Two distinct questions unrelated to each other. The only reason I ask/am thinking is that essentially he is trying to steer Mojang's customers in a direction of HIS choosing.

maybe. i forget why i didn't. I saved the map though because yukko and I were having fun with this 10k block long tunnel that spawned near my base as a result of betterdungeons.

i tried to battle taint early on with one of my maps and the 3 deep 5 wide cobble brick road surround didn't really impede the progress. If the taint aura is high enough, nothing will stop it.

i was more concerned with docm77 and monkeyfarm than these guys. Because frankly their crowd was more "intelligent" than the yoggies.
