Unless it was nerfed recently, you have NO idea just how easy it is to make diamonds out of, of all things, melons. Just break down a whole melon, then reconstitute melon slices out of the H2O that you get from breaking down the melon compounds. Rinse and repeat.

Oh great, I passed up some tasty-looking cheese danishes at the Farmer's Market earlier because I didn't need those calories, and now I want them badly. Anyways, those were fun to make because I didn't have to do much except dip into my assets and go wild. I saw the frames more like boxes than structures, which was a nice departure from the normal empty truss design. Besides, you used wood in the recipes, frames get wood-framed.(I might go and make a second set, just to have fun with shapes and styles, but I would rather finish up Dynasty textures first.)

There are no "central" power mods in Tekkit. But all of them generate MJ, so there's no wrong way to do it (besides using redstone engines, that gets you nothing but laughter from us.) I suggest reading up on BuildCraft, Thermal Expansion, and Minefactory Reloaded. Atomic Science should be left to those with more experience, as that one can be fustrating to get right.

Check the wiki on some of the machines that you can craft. I suggest the Electric Furnace to begin with, and put the engine next to it. Then grab some coal, chuck it inside the engine (right-click,) and put a lever next to that to turn it on/off. That's the most basic setup there is. It's up to you to expand on that, there are useful tools to help you do that listed in the wiki.

You might want to play with a Sterling Engine instead. Redstone Engines have been nerfed quite bit, so they only work on wooden pipes and pumps.

Well, there's always telling it to take a coffee break by going into the protections options and choosing a time interval, but that's how Kaspersky's Lab 2013 works. You may need to kill its run process, do the download, then reboot the software.

Or you can, y'know, delete them. It's easy to rebuild the modpack if you need to.
