  1. Place the files from the optifine zip into the modpack.zip, overriding any files with the same name. EDIT: ninja'd
  2. Not that many are gone. Repeating my post from another thread...
  3. Missing in Tekkit lite (vs Tekkit) Computercraft EDIT: Now in version 0.5.1 CC sensors Matmos Changes: Server is based on forge rather than bukkit (no bukkit plugins are compatible). MFFS has been continued in it's old state in the mod Advanced repulsion systems. Equivalent Exchange 2 is replaced by Equivalent Exchange 3 (big changes) IC2 Transformers is basically an updated version of Power Converters (to simplify the differences) IC2 Advanced power management is basically an updated and extended version of IC2 charging bench (APM was inspired by charging bench) Added in Tekkit Lite (Excluding NEI mods and ignoring mod versions)(vs Tekkit): Logistics pipes Factorization Minefactory Reloaded Mystcraft OmniTools (listed as omniwrench on the modlist page) Steve's carts Thermal Expansion Treecapitator
  4. My mistake. That says how bad assumptions are, doesn't it.
  5. Please volunteer to update it over on the yogscast forums as they were the ones originally behind it (I assume). Oh wait, you weren't volenteering? Guess it has even less chance of happening than if you were.
  6. I think we will be next.
  7. I think it is at the point where Oracle gets openjdk, adds a bit of their proprietary stuff and rebadges it. So does minecraft use the bit of code that is oracle only? (See: "The corresponding OpenJDK releases will continue to serve as the basis for the Oracle Java Development Kit (JDK) 7 and JDK 8" and "Oracle's commercial JDK releases will be built from the open-source code, for the most part. Since there's some encumbered code in the JDK, Oracle will continue to use that code in commercial releases until it is replaced by fully-functional open-source alternatives")
  8. Maybe you are looking for the "Small Scale Recruitment thread"
  9. Upgrading to java 7 is an advantage. Otherwise if openjdk 7 is avaliable, what is the problem with openjdk?
  10. This will not work for tekkit. This is a Minecraft 1.3+ (railcraft tanks are not available in 1.2.5) with thermal expansion and Mystcraft. This is not available in tekkit as it is 1.2.5 still, so answers that are valid for more recent versions of Minecraft(e.g. FTB) might not work.
  11. The presents and wrapping paper are Christmas additions from Steve's carts 2 (such a wonderful mod). The gift cart is from railcraft.(From changelog for 6.10.0.0: NEW: Gift Cart, a Christmas themed cart available only in December and January. For more info: http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/steves-carts-easter-egg-spoilers-maybe.3422/ (or http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/stolen-present.3405/#post-37480 ) (Sorry for the FTB forum links, but the discussion has been done over there, so why waste more digital ink)
  12. I think the problem here is getting from a milk bucket to milk as a liquid (that can go in a tank) in an automated fashion (i.e. what is a machine that can do the same thing as you right clicking on a tank with a milk bucket?). Deployers don't work. Maybe computercraft turtles may work. Liquid transposers from the Thermal expansion mod do it, but they are only in the dev versions of technic.
  13. I took this announcement as a serious date wrapped in a joke/troll package. We could also say that the next stable release of technic will be delayed until after 21 December 2012*. *Please note that 5 June 2075 is after 21 Dec 2012
  14. I was not saying to allow them on the server, I was saying you might enjoy playing a single player game and using the items, since you would not have access to them when you are on your server.
  15. I would highly recommend taking time (sometime, not meaning to detract from your server) to play single player and using the items that are banned for bypassing protection or crafting banned items, as they are some nice items. Project table: Awesome crafting table with it's own internal storage. Items don't fall out when you close the interface Carts and unloaders: Part of railcraft that allows to transfer items and liquids. Tunnel bore: Create 3x3 tunnels that have tracks laid ready for minecarts. Frame motors: Frames allow you to move blocks. Create hidden doors, platforms that can move themselves.
  16. Even minecraft would get the "feature" of being specific to certain platforms. One benefit of java is it runs on most platforms: from Windows on a 64 bit computer, to OS X on a PPC based machine to Linux on the Raspberry Pi.
  17. Fairly sure Mercalyn is correct (unless I am confused by the term "time unit"). Watt is already a rate, so Watt/h is the change in power consumption. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watt#Confusion_of_watts.2C_watt-hours.2C_and_watts_per_hour
  18. Buckets of lemonade into the recycler, scrap into mass fab, and finally lemons from UU-matter.
  19. I guess one thing which has caused the backlash against technic is that modders can't even ask for you not to distribute the mod and have their request respected. If they know about all you are doing for them and still basically say "Don't help me!", do you say "I will help you regardless of whether you want help" or do stop helping them (expressing your desire to help them)?
  20. I would think that the mods are copyrighted works by themselves (forge is the one probably in dispute). So the mod authors are not saying that the modded minecraft is their work as a good proportion of the code is mojang's. They are claiming copyright over their changes, which in the physical world is harder than in the digital world. So getting Minecraft and modifying it is like taking the original uncle sam moneybox and then getting a tool/machine and making the changes to it so it is like the one that is infringing. The original moneybox is a work and the changes are a work. (maybe a bad example, just can't see a good one)
  21. Actually, in most countries (those that have ratified the berne convention) the grating of copyright is automatic (Link to berne convention). EDIT: Left the page open too long, so did not see
  22. If you feel so inclined (and are the server owner), you can disable the need for turtles to have fuel by modifying the config files for the turtle ("cc_turtle.cfg" i think).
  23. I know this is a weird solution, but the FTB modpack has a 1.4.2 server with forge. You could replace the configs and mods folders with the technic ones.

    Help

Please post in the proper section. Since you are having problems with updating, it is probably best to post in "Technic Launcher Bugs/Problems". In your new post (in the correct section) Please provide more information on what is happening that is not working and what you tried to get it working. Use a better title, such as "Problems updating to tekkit 1.3.3" Put the whole problem in the first post instead of giving a short description in the first post and adding more detail in a post directly after (without somebody replying).
  25. From a fellow FTB player, I think you should not have posted this. FTB has been mentioned in several posts (and argued over in others) before yours in posts with a higher quality than yours, so those reading the forums already know about it. Even then, linking to an alternative on a site or it's forums is usually considered poor manners.
