Big Reactors is something we've wanted to add since the beginning, but I keep waiting for a stable v3 version to bring it up. The new version has redstone interfaces, how about big reactors & PRCs to manage them?

At the request of the b-team guys we actually disabled the ability of the tornados to do block damage in 1.0.8- they can still mess you (and your farm animals) up, and for those who live dangerously, feel free to modify the configs! Unfortunately sudden build destruction and youtube series don't go well together. :-P

Ways to generate power through TE: - Steam Dynamo: Takes water & solid fuel (wood, coal, etc.) - Compression Dynamo: Takes water & liquid fuel (oil, refined fuel, etc.) - galacticraft oil & refined fuel should work in this! - Magmatic Dynamo: Takes Lava Ways to generate power through MFR: - Biofuel Generator: Takes BioFuel (created by stuffing plant matter into a BioReactor) And there's solar panels & coal generators in Galacticraft, but I haven't tried those personally. And of course, TE provides some of the best energy storage & transmission to ever be put into minecraft, so I'm not sure I understand the argument that we need more of that, really. For storage, there are DSUs, and Thermex Strongboxes, as well as I think something in Open Blocks I can't remember. Some have asked if that's enough, and there's an open thread for people to offer feedback on that ('?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>). As for specific mod requests, I never respond well when people who don't know how to play without X mod and so demand it be in every pack. B-Team is supposed to be a new experience, it doesn't have to have the same mods you always play with.

This is something we hear a lot. The issue is finding the right mod. AE is, we think, to techy for B-Team, Better Storage advertises itself as not compatible with MCPC+ and a couple other things... between DSUs, ThermEx StrongBoxes, and I think another storage item I can't remember now, we keep going back and forth on whether a storage solution is even necessary. Definitely feel free to hash the issue out in this thread & suggest possible storage mods for us, I'm watching and your insights will help me, I think.

Something I might look into would be making maybe like a modified parts pack that only has the parts we need. That'd be cool.

I wish we had this power. The things we wanted from Flan's are armor, guns, and titans. That's it, but unfortunately, to have those components, we had to include the Parts Pack, which provides a bunch of rotors and wheels and stuff that we don't use. And I don't know how much you've tinkered with Flan's, but it has zero configuration aside from which packs you shove in. We can't even choose ID's a lot of the time, it's crazy.

If you turn this thread into an argument about whether your creepy MRA shit constitutes hate speech, I will ban you. EDIT: That goes for everyone else! Don't respond to the post I quoted! EDIT 2: Or this one!

Honestly, with quality posting like this I can't see how things got out of hand.

Yeah, we know about the hamster thing, we're not happy about it, and certainly I'm down with feedback of that sort. I'm not really against feedback saying the balance is totally sideways, but I will respond and say that I don't care, and the real question is why does anyone else? It's not like flight is the only thing that advanced genetics offers- it also offers the ability to BLOW YOURSELF THE FUCK UP and that's awesome. More importantly, flight being this uber-difficult target is something that comes as a directly lilne from EE2, then graviton suit, to a lesser extent MPS (although I will remind you that the original MPS, flight wasn't that hard to obtain and only went that direction after Muse was pressed into making things more "balanced"). My point is that this pack rejects the concept of balance. If you want to do something fun, then just go do it. I reject the idea that this is somehow good for youtubers who have fun on camera and play pranks on each other all day but bad for ordinary users. Why is there a dichotomy? The B-Team is deriving hours of crazy fun from this pack, why can't users derive fun in exactly the same manner? There's nothing magic about starting up a camera, just turn into a bee and go make a voodoo doll of someone and drown yourselves with it, and then laugh about it. It doesn't have to be a big production. If the journey of running quarries and sitting at a project table for half an hour is part of the fun for you, Tekkit's not going anywhere. That's our position, and it's not changing. If that positions is so baffling that you literally CANNOT wrap your mind around it, I'd step back and do some soul-searching about why this appalls you so much. If you just understand but disagree, that's different and fine. This thread has gone completely off the rails. Just for the record, if you're type of person who collects hats, posts on the red pill, and uses phrases like "social justice warrior" with that smug twist in your mouth, I want nothing to do with you. That said, the OP was being kind of a jerk. It wasn't even the OP that bothered me, it was that she immediately got a rather straightforward, civil, and I think well-crafted response from sct and rebutted WOAH BUDDY SORRY IF I OFFENDED YOU THERE WITH MY BOLD TRUTHTELLING TO POWER, and that's obnoxious. The fact that sct came back smug & dismissive shouldn't be a surprise. We're not made of stone. If people abuse us, they'll get abused back. I think we have a responsibility to de-escalate (that is, give less than we get), and the staff has consistently done that. But people lashing out at us and playing hurt when we don't do the customer service drone BEEP BOOP THANK YOU FOR YOUR FEEDBACK SIR shit are really getting to me. The sum-up: - Please feel free to post feedback here. - Mods need to stop being dicks about us receiving feedback. - If you act like a dick when you deliver feedback, the above doesn't apply. - We're not going to ban people for acting like scum offsite. - If I see people acting like scum in this thread from here on out, I will infract even if the mods are not willing to. Thank you, come again.

This was actually originally requested by the b-team, but it did some funky things to the install. Maybe now that our entities are no longer mismatched it'd work ok.

Now this is just silly shit. This is a discussion board, you posted an opinion, people who disagree with that opinion will make posts disagreeing with it, and people who agree will make posts agreeing with it, and that's how this shit all works. Now, you posted "I don't like the way Technic made Thing" on the official Technic boards- there are going to be more people disagreeing than agreeing with you. Certainly, I'm gonna come in here and tell you I think you're wrong, that everything went into the pack the way it did for a reason and I'm going to tell you what those reasons were. If you want to define that as kool-aid drinking, that's your prerogative I guess (but it's dumb), but you don't get to demand that only posts in support can post in here- that's not how message boards work. Hell, that's now how LIFE works. The issue isn't that we need to go back and re-read your OP, the issue is that you need to uncurl yourself from the fetal position and respond to some portion of the conversation that's occurred since the OP, in some manner, instead of just writing it off as "kool-aid". At the very least you need to ask yourself exactly what you want from this conversation, because at this moment, it seems what you wanted was a hugbox, and that reflects very poorly on your character.

Crashes when returning from Nether or exploring in creative.

2 is usually good for "big" packs like B-Team and Big Dig. I guess you could go 3 if you're feeling saucy. More than that and java starts to slow down. -
Thank you for your input, forums user Goatfister.

And by the way, Hexxit and B-Team are unbelievably popular. I don't think it's because they're incredibly well-crafted per se, I think it's because tech packs of the sort you're asking for here are dramatically common and Hexxit & B-Team are the only things that do what they do.

There's really only one pack where we throw up our hands and say "Talk to X", and that's Voltz. In this case, the pack was a COLLABORATION, so I have no problem taking responsibility for the mod list, even if people don't like it. There's no reason to go complain to generikb (though I think it'd be funny if you did). To a certain extent I think Technic is responsible for the bizarre way that FPS Furry is looking at this pack. These days we're more famous for Hexxit than our tech packs, but we did do the level-up-tech-tree-automation thing before anyone else, and I think some members of the modding community have a hard time thinking about modded minecraft any other way now. That's why this was a fun pack, and why Hexxit is a fun pack. Changing the tightly-controlled tech tree environment to one of an arbitrary series of adventures like Hexxit or a big box of toys like B-Team is FUN. I still think we should do our best to "balance" (for certain values of the word 'balance') Tekkit, and make it about that level-up-tech-tree thing that is so common in this community, but that's not all that modded minecraft has to be about. This pack isn't about that. If you want that, play Tekkit or any of the many, many, many, many packs out there that are like it. This pack is not like Tekkit. Given that it, unlike Hexxit, has a lot of tech-mods, I'd say that it's the anti-Tekkit. It's the postmodern answer to Tekkit. It is aware of everything that Tekkit is and then reject's Tekkit's basic premises. If you like Tekkit (and MAINLY like Tekkit), you will hate this pack. That's okay. They don't all have to be like Tekkit, and if you could find one statement that we've been making as a modpacking organization since the release of Hexxit, I'd say that's it: they don't all have to be like Tekkit.

Attn pack admins: Minions config file fix
CanVox replied to Brigadon's topic in Attack of the B-Team
This was reported back to AtomicStryker a few days ago and he put out a 1.7.9b which we updated to in 1.0.3. I'm waiting on access to our 4th file servers to upload the 1.0.4 server before we rec that version, though. -

I'm going to put this into the actual pack, thanks so much! -
I didn't even know about this topic before now.

A Few Comments on Ore Generation Balancing

Sorry if it seemed like I was mad or something, I was just trying to explain our position on the oregen. -
A Few Comments on Ore Generation Balancing
CanVox replied to AcesOyster's topic in Attack of the B-Team
Our goal with Attack of the B-Team was make something that the B-Team would like to stream, and that meant high oregen, along the lines of Hexxit. I was actually asked to crank it up a bit and so I did. That said, this pack fills a similar role in my mind as Big Dig- for me, Big DIg was always about letting me quickly try out a bunch of smaller oddball mods that I didn't have enough time to try out, and I think that B-Team fulfills that role better than BD ever did. It also has a more well-designated niche, whereas Big Dig was a bizarre amalgamation of tekkit, hexxit, and random crap. That said, the ore config is in there and can be worked on by anyone who wants fewer ores, particularly server owners. We're probably not going to release an "official" low oregen pack, because the pack as distributed is the official. If you want a more metered experience with tech tiers, that's what Tekkit is for, and if it's not doing it for you at current, I'd rather address that than turn B-Team into Tekkit. -
As I said in the other thread, we just had a five hour livestream hosted on an MCPC+ box in which a bunch of pretty prominent youtubers morphed into animals no problem.

After you force-quit out, get the following file: %appData%\.technic\modpacks\attack-of-the-bteam\ForgeModLoader-Client-0.log Then post it on mediafire or something so we can download it & check it out.
