Jhewett95 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 So I have used the technic launcher on my old PC and it worked completely fine, wonderfully actually. However I recently got a new PC and I noticed that every mod pack I launch is completely unplayable, about every second there is about a half second freeze frame that progressively gets worse, I changed the RAM up to 1GB, that did nothing. I also changed the java to high priority which did practically nothing. I played minecraft through the vanilla launcher and its completely fine and in vanilla it's smooth as can be. There is no way it's hardware related because I have seen people play these modpacks on lesser hardware than I use.
Moderators Munaus Posted February 22, 2014 Moderators Posted February 22, 2014 Can you allocate more than 1gig? What is your java version?
Jhewett95 Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 Can you allocate more than 1gig? What is your java version? I could allocate more than 1 gig, but I have been advised against it. And my java version is 7.
Moderators Munaus Posted February 22, 2014 Moderators Posted February 22, 2014 I could allocate more than 1 gig, but I have been advised against it. And my java version is 7. Full java version please. And advising against it is only wise if you are low on RAM. I'm sittin on 4gig on my laptop, so giving 2gig to the launcher makes Hexxit run better than with only 1gig
dwwojcik Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 It's good to allocate more than 1GB, as a matter of fact you need to. 2 or 3 is enough though. Java 7 isn't specific enough. Java 7 Update... which?
houseofknees Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Yes please help me too every time i try to open the modpack it tells me that all of the modpacks are loading, no pictures of the mods show up either and they will load for a days i have tryed. When I try to scroll to see different ones, it only shows me old mod packs and tells me that they are all offline, I can only access Hexxit and Tekkit, only single player is available. I have tryed everything, running it as an administrator, deleting it and re downloading it. PLEASE HELP.
houseofknees Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Someone please come help I would love to be able to play these fantastic modpacks with my friends.
Moderators Munaus Posted February 22, 2014 Moderators Posted February 22, 2014 stuff Please read the >Forum rules. Please make a Bug Report. The only reason I didn't ask OP to do the same is because his problem sounds more like a memory issue which is too easy to fix. Yours however sounds more severe and should be in the Bug tracker.

Java 7 Update... which? Java 7 Update 51 (build 1.7.0_51-b13) I apologise for the late reply but I have had other things to do. Now every time I try and log on I am faced with a "Loading World-Building terrain" and I can never actually get into the world, either I force it to close or the game runs out of memory. I'm also running windows 8.1 pro build 9600 which isn't yet activated. I really hope you can help me. PS same results when I allocate 1GB 2GB 3GB and 4GB. Edited March 1, 2014 by Jhewett95

Ok, if it is "too easy to fix" then would you please help me out? Because I allocated more RAM and now I cant even play the game. I don't get past the loading world screen, it just crashes.

Jhewett95 Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 This changes everything. Make a Bug Report I don't think I can really make a bug report. It's not a default mod pack and it isn't anything to do with the launcher. I just changed some environmental variables and now I can load the world completely fine with render distance on extreme with about 70fps. However if I use some things from the mods the game will lag and then crash. Modpack=Galacticraft. If I cant fix it this weekend then I'll give up. Also, I don't want you to think I'm being rude by saying this, but please stop telling me and others to make a bug report, it's clearly not a bug otherwise most people, if not everyone who downloaded the pack would get the same error. If I was certain it was a bug then I would obviously report it, you aren't being helpful to me or anyone else. If you can help me with the technical stuff then please do, if not then I would prefer you to not comment.
