Nethaufer Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Sometimes when I reply to a topic, I enter in what I want to say, and then I just close the tab it's in. On purpose. I don't know why, maybe I think that it somehow telepathically sends the message to the people in it, but I think more often than not, it's something that contradicts with my flavor text under my avatar, or it's something that could possibly break one of the forum rules. Either way, it makes me feel better for some reason.
Jay? Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I do that too. It's usually because i can already see what the response is going to be and typing out my response the the stupid response would be too much work to be worth it.
Brunswick Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Hey, I'm not the only one. I usually type something, then just kind of shrug and close it. I've been doing it a lot recently, I think the kiddie derp is wearing down my usual edge.
Industrial Miner Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I do that sometimes too, but not always because of that reason. Sometimes I feel too lazy to reply to post.
NightKev Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 A lot, especially here... You notice things after typing out a response that aren't really obvious in your head.
Eldmor Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 I go with my gut, do some research if I need to, revise my post, then go for it.
Yuriy Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 @OP, it's funny that you mention that because I do that to at least half my posts. I find it a little funny when I type out a (possibly) witty remark to some idiot and I just stop and say f- it and go do something else.
TheGuy Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I like trains. /ontopic I do that sometimes too, when I know I will get keller'd for that post or even probated. Once I wanted to post a meme (gasp!) and I read the rules before that, so I quickly /q'ed the tab.
Nethaufer Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 I like trains. /ontopic I do that sometimes too, when I know I will get keller'd for that post or even probated. Once I wanted to post a meme (gasp!) and I read the rules before that, so I quickly /q'ed the tab. That's probably one of the main reasons why I close the tab and not post. Because the response is either going to get me into trouble, or it's too cruel for my own tastes. Well, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who does, and that there are so many people who do.
Milk Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Just think of all the people who were going to post what everyone else said, but didn't.
Turtlicious Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I do that a lot, but it's mostly because I think of things that should never be said. Anywhere. I'm a sick duck, that's for sure.
jakj Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Same here: I get halfway through the post and suddenly realize the stupid thread will be stuck in my updates list forever. Maybe the new forum will help that. I hate change, though.
NightKev Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 .. i just post 'em anyway... Good luck with that, you'll need it.
okamikk Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 thankyou, i do usually get away with being a snarky bastard.... except forthat oneincident with FC taking a knot up the ass... EDIT: what??! no sub text? this is evil

Industrial Miner Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Sometimes I watch the members list to see that I'm in the highest-posting members list, yay, and to see that the newest members all have their ages set to 112. Could this mean we've got a bot generating accounts?
Neowulf Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 112 year olds is either a glitch setting all birthdates post 1990 to 1900, or kiddies have gotten terrible at faking their age. I hope it's the latter, I would love to see a 14 year old try to buy cigs with his grandpa's drivers license.
maespinn Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Maybe your are just meant to do that. Sometimes we cant change what really happens.
Xylord Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Talking about highest posting members, there's a guy with 16 millions posts, and he's a moderator... Without an avatar. ... wut.
NightKev Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 All of the posts are his. Twice. But only 8 million of them.
Wudzerivovneach Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Likely some sort of bot that controls post-related functions. Maybe some odd quirk of the software makes it see every post as that bot posting twice. I don't know if there's a lower age limit on this site, but I'm probably below it, seeing as my age is right at zero at any moment; I'm constantly destroyed and created anew, and I only give the illusion of continuity. As well, rarely do I do what was described in the OP, resulting in abominations against logic and sanity like the previous sentence. Which is just downright fun.
Adlersch Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I sometimes do the same as the OP. Maybe not close the tab, just simply not post what I was going to. Sometimes, I just can't find the right wording for something. Or I simply change my mind.
