I think he's talking about something like this: https://forums.bukkit.org/threads/application-port-mapper-the-easy-way-to-forward-ports.82109/ I've never used it, but maybe it would work.
-
Well, now that I've exhausted my first round of options, let's focus on your router. When you say 'special', what do you mean? Maybe understanding what you're using will help figure out the issue. Can you host anything else behind the router (besides Garry's Mod)? Maybe a VOIP server like Ventrilo or Mumble/Murmur? And I know you said the port checker shows the port as closed but did you by chance also check the Garry's Mod port? And, our of curiosity, what is the Garry's Mod port (if you don't mind me asking)?
-
have you tried checking to see if the port is showing as open using: http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ oh, and also try hosting a vanilla server to see if folks can connect to that. That would give insight on whether it's a Tekkit issue or just some more general Minecraft problem (or even a router problem).
-
Hmm, okay. I just know that I managed to screw up port forwarding once when I tried forwarding 25565 -> 25565 instead of ANY -> 25565. So you're running a Garry's Mod server on the same system? Or are you forwarding to a different internal IP?
-
well, I know you've looked at the ports, but that's still the first place to check. What port(s) are you forwarding? TCP or UDP or both? And what are the from/to settings?

Pipes overloading and spewing all over your lovely floors?

Welcome to the forums -- the loop method is pretty well-known, but there's always somebody who needs to hear about it. As for the EE solution, it's no longer a part of Tekkit so won't really help anybody using the new Tekkit modpack (at least as far as I know). -
But if they can't update the macOS (for work reasons, as mentioned in the OP) is there any alternative option? Or are they out of luck?
-
whoops -- misread that; I'll keep poking around...
-
Have you tried updating your Java? That may have something to do with what's going on. Also... I've no idea if this is related to the following thread, but it's worth a shot if you've no other leads: http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/ftb-wont-launch-in-osx-mavericks.33400/ (sorry if it's not related, as I'm not a Mac user)

I'll admit that the same thought crossed my mind; however, being charitable, it occurs to me that there could be a lot of people out there without admin access to their routers (whether at school or perhaps on a parent's home network). For the OP -- you might want to search through the forums for Hamachi, as this question comes up a lot and the answer could already be in there somewhere.
-
sometimes antivirus can interfere with downloading -- if you have any installed you may want to disable it while you run/install the modpack.

I'm not terribly familiar with that battery, but it appears you are looking at the one from Atomic Science (ID 8982). I've read that it can be charged via the Modular Force Field System but I've no idea how it was done. Then I've seen that you can use those batteries to power Atomic Science equipment (Centrifuge, etc.); you may be able to power other items that accept a battery. But I'd recommend powering most things with Redstone Energy Conduit (or Buildcraft Conductive Pipe, if you prefer). You might try the wiki, though it still needs a lot of work on the Atomic Science and Modular Force Field mods... for everything else, Google is your friend.
-
could you be more specific? what kind of battery? A 'Makeshift Battery'? Or a battery that goes into a Modular Power Suit? For Power Suits, for example, you add the battery to each piece and then charge them in the Energetic Infuser.

My tekkit won't start after i did an update!

try deleting the C:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Roaming\.technic\tekkitmain folder and then re-running TechnicLauncher -
yep, your problem is running the minecraft_server.jar file; you need to run the Tekkit.jar file
-
well if you're worried about griefers, perhaps the modular force fields would help -- I've never had occasion to use them, but... they sound pretty cool.
-
yeah, I was hoping someone more knowledgeable would chime in because I'm still learning about some of the cooler abilities within Tekkit; but, from what I've seen, anything more than 2-by-X (or X-by-2) is virtually impossible without Redstone in Motion or Redpower type of mods. I think I've seen someone figure out a 3-by-3, but I never tried it and didn't quite get how he pulled it off.

use the Liquid Transposer. I don't often use Tanks, as I prefer Portable Tanks, but I imagine you can attach Tanks to some sort of piping (I'd recommend Liquiducts) and pipe it into the Liquid Transposer. Then insert a bucket and make sure the LT is set to fill (as opposed to empty). EDIT: for a long while, I'd just use those Portable Tanks and slap one on top of the LT. You right-click with the wrench to put it into 'empty' mode and it'll easily drain right in, provided that face is set to an input for the LT.

As far as I know, none of those are actually selectable modules (they're either enabled or not but don't actually show up on that scroll area above the hotbar). Try adding the crafting and torch placer modules and then see if you can switch between them. That may be why you don't see anything.
-
what modules have you installed on the power fist?
-
are you saying that you can't see the power fist? or are you saying the the specific module you are trying to activate doesn't show up (e.g., lux capacitor, rail gun, torch placer, etc.)? are you using sneak + scroll wheel to change activated item?
-
when you run your server, are you running the Tekkit.jar file or are you running the minecraft_server.jar file? You should be using the Tekkit.jar file (in your launch.bat, for example).

are these the ones you need? http://goo.gl/gkx9di

oxygen mask!? so what's the big deal her.

though I believe an astronaut could jump in a lake with their suit on and still be able to breathe through their tanks... we're not talking about the Marianus Trench here. -

yeah, go for the Electrolyzer (think that's the Power Suit add-on); it does the trick nicely, even though, as you pointed out, the space gear should work as well.
