  1. :tinfoil: Buy all the milk and bread quick!
  2. Nope, pretty sure Tekkit is still alive and kicking today. Why so dramatic? Things will play out as needed. This is a serious concern but no need to put on the tinfoil hats and buy all the bread and milk your car trunk can handle.
  3. If you like Skyrim and dubstep then this might be appealing:
  4. Technic is more akin to technical, not technological. Magic can get technical
  5. I wouldn't have expected anything less from an EvE Online player.
  6. As always, here is your obligatory mod post reminding everyone to keep civil (no namecalling) and I heavily suggest not bringing up legalese poo.
  7. Cleared up the accidental double-post. Keep insults to a minimum. Honestly I don't give two flying turds what people's ultimate opinion on the Technic pack is as long as everyone treats each other as a respectable human being. So, let's try to keep the topic on-task, shall we?
  8. Correct, but such "features" of Java tend to be more advanced topics than basic inherent properties of the language. I'm sure given any language and enough free time, one language can be developed such that it can mimic the inherent features of another.
  9. To clarify: Java is not a functional programming language in the sense that I meant it, where functions can be passed around like variables. LISP-like dialects for sure such as Clojure. But I was thinking more along the lines of Scala or Javascript (the latter is actually pretty good at it outside of the browser and with certain language "features" avoided).
  10. If it compiles, it can probably make a text-based game. If it does object-orientation (with object inheritance, polymorphism and the whole nine yards) and file parsing, it can probably make a very robust/easily maintained/easy-to-modify text-based game. If it has functional programming capabilities on top of that, then it will probably be easy to make a super-flexible core engine.
  11. I have an NVidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti, which I use mainly for CUDA (which in turn nearly ruined my chip when it got above 90C)
  12. Oil in buckets can be placed in the world like water, and flow pretty much exactly like water minus the "infinite" part. Thus, you could have a deployer filled with the oil buckets you make place an oil source block, and then use a redpower 2 pump to move it from that staging area to whatever pool you want to fill, using grates. Using a pool (ie no tanks) pretty much demands RP2 pumps/grates, as Lisa mentioned.
  13. As long as a member has 3 or more warning points they get the nice pink baby treatment. So having 1 or 2 points wouldn't be noticeable. All points by default last a month. I don't personally change this time period though mods have that capability.
  14. You must be very new here. Tip: Find the proper place to post this kind of stuff. Hint: It's not here.
  15. Haha, that's pretty funny. And catchy. I don't usually prefer grind/gore. In that genre, no one can touch the lyrical genius of Broken Hope in my opinion (example Edit: Not for the faint of stomach). I much prefer black, melodeath and doom. Right now I'm enjoying listening to Wintersun's latest album (only took them 8 years), but I don't really have "a favorite song". OP if you ever record in a studio be sure to share a link with us so we can hear you guys!
  16. I thought the exact same thing senior year of high school when I first head that exact same song. 4 years later, learning to enjoy them has opened up a huge world of awesome music to me.
  17. Melodic Death Metal examples: Dethklok Insomnium Amon Amarth Dark Tranquility Death Metal examples: Cannibal Corpse Vader Behemoth People in metal like to get into a lot of fancy subgenres. If you ever get into an argument about it, just ignore it and say "Eff it, it's just good music".
  18. Banned for obvious reasons ("Banned because illiterate and can't read and also is a know-it-all asshole"), no one (me or anyone in our community) should ever put up with his shit. OP, I'm deeply sorry for the trouble this butt-turd caused, feel free to create a new thread if none of the above fixes worked. Locking this pile of poo to rot out.
  19. What deluded concept of the Technic Team do you have in your head? I am here to assure you that my idea of what the Technic Team does is far more accurate than any warped conception you have, and I assure you it is more than a "3-program launcher". If you'd like to continue to argue with my banhammer on this point feel free to, otherwise I heavily suggest you wisen up and move on. People make mistakes and can grow to learn from them. Then again, some people can't.
  20. You just invalidated your entire argument. We aren't a business, so there's absolutely no reason to "run with it" like it is one. What it is, is this: KakerMix is paying for 2+ TB bandwidth a day and no amount of website ad revenue is going to make up for the cost of that per month. This isn't a business, it's a "hey let's rape KakerMix's wallet" festival complete with dong-shaped floats and a parade of burning money. Which you are bashing. Clearly you know everything that is going on behind the scenes, and it is so easy with only 3 programs and all. Why don't you do it yourself if it is as simple as you make it? These are rhetorical questions, because quite frankly you describe the Technic Team & Mod Staff like you've been hanging with us on a daily basis. Just a tip: You haven't. If I seem pissed it is probably because I am on behalf of the team, which should put you into a self-reflective state of mind and think about what you're really trying to say before posting. Of course, your predecessors before you instead got ragey about not being right, but there's a chance you won't follow in their footsteps. Which I highly suggest. EDIT: Google gives me this fix for you.
  21. Moved to Modders Metropolis > Request section.
  22. I'm curious what other forums mandate you to sign posts and ban you if you don't.
