  1. The server needs to set these values. If you're in singleplayer then that's on the client, yes, otherwise you need to change it (or ask it to be changed) in the server config.
  2. It looks like that's a wooden stencil in the casting table - you need to use the stencil to make a stone version of what you want (or some other material), then place the part in the casting table and pour the aluminium brass or gold onto it. That'll create a cast. That cast can then be used to pour other metals into (the same way you've got the stencil set up now, but not with the stencil).
  3. Why are you generating lava at all? I'm not sure I understand that part of it (the lava fabricator is a very expensive way to get lava).
  4. There are two cogs - make sure you're not clicking the one in the top-right, that is not the one under the modpack logo.
  5. Please post a launcher log up on the tracker (guides on how to get the log, links to the tracker and tracker rules are in my sig) and we'll take a look, see if it's an OS configuration issue or a hardware one.
  6. Bear in mind this can trigger cheat prevention tools on servers if it does succeed in connecting (as you're running with a modified version of the mod, different to what the server is expecting). If you're playing singleplayer though, this is fine.
  7. You Could Try The PlatForm PaGoDa. I Think That's Where This Kind Of Thing Goes, SomeOne There Should Help You. Please Take The Time To Re-Read >The Forum Rules, I'd Appreciate It. Good Luck!
  8. For future people scanning through here, mattymaats invited me took a look at this, we tested it to be 80RF/t (the other system being used alongside it for comparison was skewing the results). If people are checking on their own servers a good rule of thumb is that 3 dynamos/generators generates almost 5000RF every second, and that's an easy thing to test for if you don't want to do it in detail like we did (start it up, wait 10 seconds, break the conduit to the energy cell and see if you got about 50,000 RF). Thanks for taking the time to check it out with me, Mattymaats!
  9. There's a link in my sig to a guide on how to get the log, another link to the tracker (the place to post the log) and another link to the tracker rules. With the poppet shelf, make sure it's in the same chunk as your machines - press F9 to see the chunk corners, press it twice to see the chunk borders. Everything needs to be in the same one as the poppet shelf (if not, you need multiple poppet shelves).
  10. Just have to wait on Flans for this one, I'm afraid. I don't think there's anything that can be done (quitting and rejoining sometimes fixes it for some people, but that's all that seems to help).
  11. No carpenters blocks, no microblocks. The best bet is to stick with vanilla stuff, test it, then add stuff and continue to test, hopping on the helm each time you add something from a new mod. If your friend managed to break blocks on it, you must've got off successfully - you can't do that while it's being driven. How exactly did it happen from your perspective? It might help other people.
  12. Rednet energy cables used to have different behaviour - recently (12a testing) it seems like they have exactly the same behaviour as conduits (limit by connections not by throughput) so it's worth trying it again. I hope they're ok, I'm halfway through setting up a system that uses them
  13. Oh yeah, I'm totally sold by the effort there. I'm sure someone who's willing to put this kind of effort into a server post will be willing to go above and beyond to help me retain my stuff if there's any problems or bugs I encounter while playing.
  14. I don't know what you're trying to say - are you having trouble with dropbox? What you need is the direct link to a file, most people would use an ftp server for that I suppose, but dropbox is extremely cheap (though it's got download limits, not appropriate for a popular file). Look here for how to get a direct link in dropbox (if you go to the link and it's a download page then that's wrong, it needs to be a link to the file iself to work, not the download page for the file). AFAIK mediafire only does links to download pages, so you can't use it for this.
  15. Yes. If you've ever got any questions about what it's doing, the launcher is open-source so you can take a look for yourself, and even build your own rather than download the binaries if you want to be totally certain.
  16. Yep, post it up on the tracker and we'll take a look. There's links to the tracker and the rules in my sig.
  17. B-Team servers have a thread here specifically for them: http://forums.technicpack.net/forum/75-attack-of-the-b-team-servers/
  18. Dynamos work by duration, so a fuel canister generates 1.5M RF total, it doesn't generate any faster, still at 80RF/t, so it simply lasts longer, a bit over 15 minutes. A bucket of liquifacted coal generates 1M RF/t, so it'll be used up in a bit over 10 minutes (LXP is the same). Coolant works in the same way, with a bucket of gelid cryotheum not needing to be replaced for 4M RF and water buckets being 400k RF. Water is a lot easier to get so it's not usually worth the cryotheum in most situations. Sewage and sugar in a reactant dynamo generates as fast as energized glowstone and nether stars, but you'd need a lot more sewage and sugar to generate the same total (it's much easier to get though, so the quantity might not matter). There'll be a balance point for you somewhere between length of time it runs and ease of acquiring the materials - for most people that's mob essence and blaze powder (as you can get both with a blaze farm/grinder setup, grabbing blaze spawners from the nether). The 'best' option is just what you can get your hands on at a rate that you can get it and use it (this is one of the things I like best about the B-Team). I just tested this, and it seems the same for everything to me - BioFuel reactors used to be different but even they're 80RF/t now. Can you show how you had your setup?
  19. I like B-Team - an interesting selection of mad science items and not a lot of obviously easy/best options means there's a lot of leeway in how you do things, can't really go wrong with any crazy idea you have. Hexxit is very nicely balanced, a few things here and there you might find interesting but it's a great balance of modpacks and customization with a really good feel for exploring and gaining power. Tekkit Main, in my opinion the best balanced of the Tekkit packs (I like Tekkit Lite too), plenty of good ways to generate power, interesting things to do, computercraft, just a great tech pack.
  20. Just saw a guy today with a recent graphics card update, looks like the new nVidia drivers don't necessarily detect OpenGL as a good reason to switch away from integrated graphics on laptops. Check to see if you have something like this;
  21. Ah right - should've realised it was a laptop from the 3630q and 650M Yes, the default there is selectable in the nVidia driver panel - Minecraft uses openGL rather than DirectX so it might be that openGL games aren't triggering the nVidia chip to take over while DirectX ones are (it's likely that Minecraft is the only non-DirectX game you're using).
  22. Sometimes there can be a huge difference on those midrange cards if it's a custom tweaked version from a manufacturer - for example a card with a 128-bit memory bus might be fitted with faster (non-standard) RAM to compensate if that's a bottleneck in the standard version (in this example, the GPU is too fast for its memory interface). The reason this is relevant is that if you've got one of those cards with the manufacturer's drivers it'll run at the faster speed - but the standard nVidia drivers are unaware you have the fast VRAM, and they'll run at the slow speed. The second thing that could be a cause is remnants of the previous graphics driver running when they shouldn't be - if you didn't restart after removing the previous driver before installing the new one then this is fairly common. Some programs in this situation find the old references and try to use them, but almost nothing works (as the driver is mostly uninstalled) so almost everything falls back to slow compatibility versions. To fix that, make sure you've got the drivers on the desktop (your resolution is going to be low when you restart and it'll be hard to find them otherwise), then remove all the drivers you have and reboot. After the reboot you should be clean, and you can install the drivers from your desktop again. Failing both using the manufacturer's drivers and a clean install, post up on the tracker with your logs (there's a link in my sig).
  23. You cannot be serious. Legolivey, as in one of the first people to reply to hulsedoesmc? That server? hulsedoesmc, as in the guy who got temp-banned for continuing to post these threads here in spite of being told not to? The guy who got permabanned for circumventing the ban with a new account just to post this again, like you're doing right now? I don't believe that you are the same guy (the timing is suspicious but you did post in the other threads), but you were in the other threads, it's doesn't seem likely you're unaware that this forum is not the forum to keep spamming your server. I'm guessing hulse put you guys up to this and Legolivey refused to post here, not wanting to get banned, or you're doing this of your own volition because somehow you think it's helping. You're lucky I'm not a moderator, if I was I'd be sorely tempted to remove all the references to this server because of the members tendency to keep spamming it. I am interested as to what made you post this, if you wouldn't mind telling me that I'd like to know.
  24. They don't release immediately after recording, one day of playing might take 2 or 3 days of editing and the final result might be released weeks or in some cases even months later (depending on release schedule). You're probably best asking them about it directly.
  25. I too missed this info - request for proof seconded.
