Exactly that - that means not many diamonds or emeralds in those areas you've been to and no mod resources at all (copper and tin in the overworld, ardite and cobalt in the nether etc). It'll work fine, but you'll have to move to areas you've never been to if you want to find that stuff. Like Daniel says, just shifting the world folder into the server folder should be enough. Run the b-team server, let it generate a world and do all the startup stuff Shut the server down Remove the WORLD folder it generated and put your vanilla WORLD folder in its place Restart the server, it should have all the same stuff as your vanilla minecraft had now (for better and for worse)

Google 'minecraft modpacks id conflict resolution', find a guide to follow on making modpacks and follow the instructions, find a tool to do it for you, or ask in the modpack section of these forums.

You're probably better talking to the B-Team directly to make this suggestion.

For future searchers, this is caused by the PATH variable not being correctly set (so when the batch file tries to call java.exe it can't find it). It was fixed in this case by installing java 64 (which reset the PATH variable as part of its installation) but uninstalling and reinstalling java should have the same effect.

Private Attack of the Bteam Whitelist server
Loader replied to hulsedoesmc's topic in Attack of the B-Team
I don't understand how these keep popping up, they should be submitted here: http://forums.technicpack.net/forum/75-attack-of-the-b-team-servers/ I can see that if you see a bunch of others you might be confused, but nearly every one of them here has a moderator responding in it telling people not to post servers in the discussion forum. -
Power Unit conversion - KW (Solar panel) to RF
Loader replied to Targren's topic in Attack of the B-Team
100 kW = 355 RF (charge a solar panel, turn it off, then get the power out into an energy cell). Watch the solar panel charge rate when disconnected - it's generating kW/second, not per tick. The advanced solar panel generates anywhere from 1.5kW/s to 4.5kW/s (double on a station) which is 5.32 RF/s to ~16 RF/s. There are 20 ticks per second, so that works out to ~0.27RF/t to ~0.8RF/t, a hundredth of a dynamo at max generation rate! I had to test this to make sure that I hadn't made a mistake somewhere, so I set up a system with rednet cables that would turn on and charge at the same time and ran it for about 45 seconds alongside a reactant dynamo to see if I was in the right ballpark in real testing: Solar Panel = 708RF Dynamo = 78,956RF That ratio and output matches roughly what I was expecting (the solar panel wasn't pre-charged, so the manual switch on and off would introduce small errors in my testing). They do not generate much!- 17 replies

M4rshy, if you've got a backup you should go back to it - you probably just need to remove that one bit and you can do that using MCEdit without running the server. If they're fine with rebuilding then that's great (easier for you for sure!), but they might not have to. pirahnah3, feel free to start a new thread if you want to talk about power sources, it is to do with 12a but this doesn't seem like the place for a detailed conversation about it, you're right. sewfastdancer, what are you using to remove the pipes? If you're getting crashes when you do it in game, use MCEdit to remove them then simply replace them in game.

There's a guide in my sig, you can also find them in the Technic launcher - in the top right there's a cog which will bring up a window with a LOGS button in it, clicking that will open the folder wherever it is. If you still have any trouble let me know, but if you find them please post them up along with your problem on the Tracker (there's a link to that in my sig too).

I thought I remembered you... '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> Was there something you didn't understand last time? You could've asked in that thread.

Out of 19 reports; 12x Carpenters safe - did removing and replacing the pipes fix that, or did you have to remove the safe completely in the end? 3x Invalid/null player reference (morph leaving clones in a portal). Not a lot you can do about this - restarting the server removes those clones though so if it ever crashes the server like this it should be fine after a restart anyway. 4x BOP village spawn failures... that's not good, that should be fixed in this version. EDIT: Just saw the date on those files, these crashes are from an older version, you shouldn't get those any more in 12a. One of the things I enjoy most about B-Team is looking for... alternative energy sources like that one. A tree farm seems too pedestrian though very efficient and simple, same with a blaze mob spawner/grinder. I'll simply have to find another one like my all day round solar-panel substitute.

Cant allocate more RAM even with java 64 bit
Loader replied to nicolas_x's topic in Attack of the B-Team
(for future forum travellers the problem was a 32 bit JDK installation hadn't been removed. Remember it doesn't have to be the basic java runtime environment, if you have the developers environment that's still Java! Remove that too and put it back afterwards if you need it - you may for your web browser.) -
Yes please, it's worth taking a look to see if there's incompatibilities that may be to do with the update. Yes, this has been changed in TE, apparently it was unintended behaviour - back to infinite mob grinding for me.

Anyone looking for a community whitelisted server?
Loader replied to mike_smit's topic in Attack of the B-Team
Good question - they may well ignore me thinking I'm a madman so it would be impossible to tell if it's that or your powers extending to envelop people who talk to you. What happens... if I quote you? The trap set, now I wait and see if someone asks what the blurry bit in this post is. -
The spawn rates are actually similar, but there's much less landmass available for them to spawn (so you see them dogpile onto tiny little islands and pack into cave systems often - that's the only valid area). You can offset it to some extent by removing the areas they are allowed to spawn from the list, look for worldofdinos.cfg in the config folder. The line S:dinoBiomeIdList=201,202,203,204,205,206,207,208,209 can be changed, just remove those numbers to remove dino spawning completely or restrict them to only a biome or two and they'll be much less common.

If you just search them for carpentersblocks.tileentity.TECarpentersSafe it might be quicker, that's what I'll be looking for to see if it's all the same thing - if that doesn't come up then it's different problems but if that's in every file then that's probably all that's wrong right now.
-
That one is an issue with something trying to put items automatically into a carpenters safe - try removing and replacing the itemduct and if that doesn't work try with replacing the safe with a chest for testing. Let us know how it goes, and if there's other crashes, share the other crash reports, please - it's not impossible that there be issues with version changes and it'll help isolate the problem so its easier to tell if it's a bunch of different errors or the same one over and over (in which case it's easy to set up a test for it and see if it's just you or everyone).

Need help making cauldron server/ and or adding plugins.
Loader replied to Saianna's topic in Attack of the B-Team
The method is once you've got cauldron (you need the server jar and the libraries), put the jar in the main server folder and rename it BTeam.jar (rename the one that's there right now BTeam.jar.old or something), put the libraries folder in there with it (with the cauldron libraries that came when you ran the installer) and that's it, it should run. It'll load mods from the mods folder in that directory and plugins from a plugins directory in that same folder. -
It shouldn't be an issue if you've updated to 1.0.12a, can you post a link to a log up here?

Is this a server hosted on your own machine which you have proper access to, or a rented/minecraft hosts type deal? -
Cant allocate more RAM even with java 64 bit
Loader replied to nicolas_x's topic in Attack of the B-Team
The tracker is the right place to go for help with this, not this forum. Long story short though, if you cannot allocate more than 1GB RAM then you are not using 64 bit java (try removing all the 32 bit versions and seeing if that changes anything, you can put them back afterwards). Post on the Tracker after trying that if it's still not working. -
The computer has different power settings depending on if it's on battery or not, make sure you check the power plan when it's unplugged and see that it's the same. In those settings there's a 'minimum processor state' which is sometimes a percentage and sometimes a clock multiplier, either way if it's on Max Performance that shouldn't be turned down from max anyway.

Anyone looking for a community whitelisted server?
Loader replied to mike_smit's topic in Attack of the B-Team
There's a third option - apply it as a superpower: Post this thread link around for criminals to use as a safe haven for planning illegal activities. When they sign up here they'll be newbies, so you can then tell them that you intend to report them to the authorities. Because they can't perceive you you'll then be free to gather as much information as you want with no risk to yourself and even a completely clear conscience (you did tell them you were planning to report them, after all). -
Just out of curiosity, were you using wires with this setup or conduits?
-
It'll be the turbo mode and CPU throttling when you're on battery power (it waits until it definitely needs more processing cycles before stepping up by default), this probably won't be noticeable in the client (though it'll still be happening), but it'll be obvious if it happens on a server (which is what you're doing when you run SSP). What you'll need to do to stop it is to change the setting that the laptop is on when using battery power - win8 has a "power options" section in control panel, unplug the laptop, look in there, and you should see it's on Power Saver (or it's got some override by the laptop manufacturer) selected. Change it to Balanced (the usual default) or High Performance (never throttles performance down much, even if it's not being used). If it is on some other setting made by the manufacturer then they'll have some application that manages it, so find and use that instead. Usually this kind of thing goes on the Tracker here, but it's not really a problem with the pack or Technic Launcher or any mods running or anything, so I guess the discussion forum is as good a place as any (This is just an FYI for future reference, technical problems tend to go there as technical people tend to go there). Let me know how that goes!
