  1. It's not like I haven't done that, and that I haven't had any 'experiences' - my girlfriend's going to have our first son in October. It's just... I fail to see the point of it. Anyways, that aside, cross country season has officially been going on for weeks now, but my favorite thing to do on Saturdays now is to get first place on my team. :D
  2. Pssh, amateurs. Ninja'd it long ago, as per my usual. I'll be testing it later tonight, as soon as I'm home from work.
  3. Am I the only one who doesn't do that? Literally every guy I know does - it makes me feel like a pariah when this subject comes up.
  4. If you happen to live near a jungle (Or giant rubber tree, at any rate), until you can afford making a good solar array, just use a generator(s) and fuel it with sticks. The rubber tree's wood is literally only good for that, unless you feel it has some sort of aesthetic appeal - not to mention one of those gigantic trees will give you power for a long, long time this way.
  5. I have just a few issues with a 'crazy/cute/creepy' pack: For whatever reason I'm too lazy to fix or check my Minecraft has no sounds, at all. Mobs jumping me out of nowhere and scaring the life out of me is creepy enough. What gameplay would this add? Don't get me wrong, adding something like this to Technic via your own add-on pack is something I encourage (Although I can almost guarantee I won't use it, out of personal taste), but its own section alongside Technic, Tekkit, Hack/Mine, the Voxelbox, or the Yogbox? I just don't see it - it'd be next to impossible to make such a pack with the quality of most of those. I find few things cute in this world: My girlfriend, my cat, and fairly soon my firstborn son. Just personal taste, I don't like cute too much except on things I'm intensely familiar with. Minecraft is crazy. To quote something I've said before, "It's... It's (Expletive) blocks." But, if you can find mods that work well together, or mesh well with the other mods in Technic/Tekkit while simultaneously adding gameplay value not only within the respective mods themselves, but also in how they interact with the other mods and game in general, I will play it. An example of a (In my opinion) bad choice would be Mo' Creatures. Sure, it adds mobs. Pets, horses, breeding, flying mounts, new enemies, all that jazz... That's great. What does it add that changes the way gameplay with my other mods occurs, besides annoying animals making noise all day, removing vanilla mobs, and giving me items I have no intention to use and can't turn into EMC/macerate/do anything but waste space with? For me, that answer is nothing. So, while I wish you luck, it'll be quite the undertaking for you.
  6. Mhmm, gotcha covered. Good luck with statistics!
  7. The use will be primarily gaming, yes, but for a member of this board I actually play extremely little MC. Not saying I'm a high-end gamer who needs max performance, but I would like to build a system that works fairly well for casual gaming and hopefully won't be outdated for a reasonable amount of time. If it'll be able to run the majority of games for the remainder of 2012 and at least 2013 with say, 60+ FPS on medium graphics settings, I should be happy. Right now my primary concerns are: 4 GB RAM (Already ordered some that I know will fit and work well with my PC from a local store), an outdated graphics card, and maybe a junk processor. Edit: Examples of the kind of stress I foresee putting on my system: Planetside 2 is one I play consistently (Albeit that it's not optimized for my processor and it runs like junk atm, beta is beta), TES V: Skyrim (I mod it heavily, 60+ mods, although most are small changes), maybe Borderlands 2, things along the lines of those games. I don't really think I'll be getting any games that are any more stressful on a system than those (AAA titles, ah ha ha), and it's not like I'm playing these competitively or anything.
  8. RAM is very cheap right now... Anyways, that's taken care of now. As for the video card, like RAM, are there different 'pin amounts' on the cards? Or are they all essentially the same? About the processor, I'd really like to not replace it right now if possible. I'll see about getting a new graphics card and getting my RAM first.
  9. So I've got a decent budget with which to upgrade my personal PC. Some basic specs (Some are very sub-par, I warn you): Processor - AMD Athalon II X2 220 (2 CPUs) Video Card (A priority) - ATI Radeon 4200 RAM - 4 GB Motherboard - FOXCONN (Wth?) model 2AB1 Keyboard, mouse, moniter, and speakers I'm all happy with - they work, they're new, and they look nice. Using an HP, with Windows 7 Home Premium (64x). I'd say I have a budget of $1000 USD for everything (Getting about $400 disposable income next paycheck) in the near future, so I really just need to upgrade what needs it most. Also, my computer literacy is somewhat sub-par. I know how to change the hardware and whatnot, all the obvious things, but between taking anywhere between four and six hours of classes per day, working 8+ hours of minimum wage per day, running cross country and being in a show choir I'm too exhausted/have too little time to become literate in a reasonable space of time. Which is where you come in! Pick your favorites within a reasonable price, I'm after performance only - frills and expensive brand names need not apply. Thanks for any help and suggestions, if you could also provide a link I'd appreciate it but no matter what I'm going to search for the best price myself too.
  10. "This is your last warning, if you don't stop breaking rules, shitposting, and putting memes all over MCF then I'll... I'll... So help me I'll WARN YOU AGAIN!" My personal perception of MCF mods.
  11. Speaking of circles and symbols... Your avatar there, it kinda... Never mind.
  12. I have a macro set on my home computer to do that while I'm at work too, and it sends me an email if it gets a new result.
  13. I knew you wouldn't disappoint! The best TP on the Technic Pack forums (Or anywhere that I've seen) just got better! I love the quality and passion going into this - no shortcuts (ie. recolored diamond for all the gem tools. :vomit:) are being taken, and you're taking your sweet time making this an amazing TP, which I am 100% okay with and I actually encourage. Also, showing us the WIP and letting us bugtest... I could kiss you on the mouth right now will definitely spare you from slavery with the other humans when my plans for world domination come to fruition. be recommending this to everyone I know. Edit: Just for the record, I managed to ninja this 9 minutes after it was posted on dropbox, apparently, just didn't have a chance to post about it.
  14. Just gonna scooch this in here... Emphasis mine. The goal of the pack is to find quality mods that mesh well with the others - while this has, incidentally, equated to mods that are technical, it does not mean they are the theme on purpose. Regardless, technicality is the theme now, on purpose or not. On-topic, this thread isn't really going anywhere. For EE, against EE, I don't care - rant and feel better I guess. No real solutions will be found here that haven't been discussed and turned down, so I fail to see the point of continuing with this thread. Also, Sacrieur, your idea of a 'modern chemistry' mod fascinates me. I would love to see a modern chemistry-themed mod in Technic (Or just see one I could manually install), as long as it isn't too complex (As in, you can't use the real-world periodic table and minute measurements or I'm out). However, a (Somewhat) basic chemistry mod that can make unique items (Or simplify creation/make available creation of certain items, ie. mob drop only items) and break down created items into base forms would absolutely fascinate me! Plus, if I could create vanilla (And new, from the chemistry mod maybe?) potions more easily without having to learn the (Vanilla) reagents and figure out the silly brewing stand, I would have a much more easy (And interesting) time - for some reason, memorizing elements and measurements is easier than memorizing reagents (ie. I can remember 3 mL of whatever, 5 mL of something else, and 2 grams of a third thing, but 2 spider eyes and a mushroom baffles me).
  15. Right now my goal is absolute domination of all life on my little world, enslaving all races to serve under my dark banner. ...That, and destroy all the undead. Ugh, those things are so disgusting. They all need to go.
  16. ...Ordered one. Should arrive later tonight if the dark ritual under the full moon goes as planned. If not, I'll have to wait for the mailman.
  17. In SSP, I suppose genocide of everyone but oneself is a viable option, depending on how one does it.
  18. I don't think just slapping on the Tekkit logo looks good anyways. It doesn't fit the theme of it, in my opinion. I would suggest making your own Tekkit addition to the logo (Or a new logo altogether for the Tekkit server) that has a theme that all matches. Also, I don't even wanna talk about PMC, but using unoriginal content without permission in a thread isn't exactly piracy seen as piracy in their minds since they're not paying for it - they're just ready to pounce on anyone without forty pages of permissions and a license restricting others from touching anything even if those people have permissions.
  19. Don't forget, Jorcer, about commands. (That was a command, by the way) Commands almost always end with an exclamation point (!), but can end with a period/full stop (.). Commands in general day-to-day life are usually neutral in tone unless emotion is mixed in - in which case one can use an irritated, urgent, or otherwise harsher tone, although this is often frowned upon. Those who abuse commands generally lose respect in society or are otherwise negatively affected by their own actions (Teeth getting punched out, for example) and are sometimes disregarded in the future. One who manages to be courteous whilst simultaneously using a command is generally looked upon as polite and/or pleasant to be around, and will generally also be listened to more often.
  20. I still don't know - if he wants demo minecrafters to be able to play Technic in their demo mode (Whatever the hell it may be, I don't know the limitations if any), but not Tekkit, that's reasonable but I don't see the point of it. Do we even support demo mode or whatever?
  21. Looks way better than what a dark blue sword would - I like it so far. I'd love to see different 'styles' of swords based on the gem type. ie. Emeralds having more of a longsword feel, sapphire swords being a bit rounded as above and ruby swords being more like broadswords. But of course with 32x and limitations with that sort of thing it'd be hard to do - either way it looks fantastic.
  22. I'm wondering if you'll do anything special with the 'gem' tools - ie. ruby, emerald, and sapphire tools. It'd be great to either see them have similar theme to the vanilla diamond/iron or their own unique theme (I can't say I'd like seeing them as recolored diamond tools though, that's been done to death and they're unique).
  23. At least you needn't worry about taint in your base now, huh?
  24. Plez halp meh i nekro thred tehn hijac kit!!@!!11!!!one!@ Hey bud, this thread was two months old. The conversation is over. If you're having problems like this, post your own bug report and we'll help you to the best of our abilities based on that.
  25. I use both. Headset for when others are around and I don't wish to disturb them, and speakers for when I feel the need to blast some music when I'm all alone in the house. :)
