why would you even bump this thread? the question was answered completely and directly.
-
basically, yeah.
-
yes, put it in the mods folder

we have a mod suggestion thread, if you know of a mod that adds these things, feel free to suggest it there (it's in the technic section). if you're just throwing out your brilliant ideas, which are clearly brilliant because you had them, then you need to understand that we don't make the mods here. technic merely groups them together. the technic team doesn't create the mods in the pack, they leave that to the people with skills (oh snap, total burn). so go throw your unarguably brilliant hit ideas at people who might do something with them.

no, topic is not closed the moderator of forum

you might take a look at the server op swap shop section, lots of people with experience hosting servers there. the only thing I have to say on the subject is that when I looked for professional hosting a while back, it was ungodly expensive for even the crappiest of servers. be prepared to shell out some serious cash monthly if you want a server that isn't laggy/terrible.

Problem with tekkit server can some 1 help
freakachu replied to baloeto's topic in Off Topic Discussion
note to self, tell everyone that the problem is their lack of visual C++ runtime for their java based game from now on. it'll be great. -
could be a lot of things. in the absence of more details, which I am loathe to try and extract from you, here are some possible things that might be the problem you mentioned an HDD dying, clearly you replaced it and/or got a new PC. perhaps your public IP has changed? if so, your domain may be pointing to the wrong place your router is no longer forwarding the ports to the correct internal IP your server isn't using the port that has been forwarded you server isn't running your computer that the server is on isn't running your ISP noticed you were not only hosting stuff on your residential connection, but pointing a domain right at it as well and put some filtering in place your roomate/brother/sister/parent replaced your router with a toaster and you haven't noticed yet, despite all the toast it's been inexplicably making lately

holy god, I am trying so hard to actually make any sense of the gibberish you are posting OP but I am failing terribly. I don't know if english is just not your primary language or you simply got dropped on your head too many times as a child and slept through the entirety of elementary school, but you are going to need to start making some sense if you want some actual help. here is what I got out of your posts: you have a domain registered with godaddy you have no idea how networking or the internet works you have no business being in charge of a domain clients can't connect to your server from outside your local network you are illiterate that's what I got so far, how am I doing?

umm, what the hell?

you can allocate all available ram in the launcher because it isn't a "hard" allocation, for lack of a better term. all that does is tell the java virtual machine that it is allowed to use up to that amount if it needs to, but the JVM doesn't claim the full amount from the start. you do want to turn that down though, 2 gigs should be more than enough. you may also want to check your video card settings, as maxing out at 60fps sounds like Vsync is being forced. regardless of what you do, you WILL take a huge FPS hit when your recording, assuming you are using FRAPS.

receiver -> not gate -> transmitter obviously don't have the receiver and transmitter on the same frequency.

Using Proxies with the Technic/Tekkit Launcher
freakachu replied to fracica15's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
I didn't say you didn't know your IP, I said you don't understand what IPs are, what they do, or how they work. what you know is a series of 4 numbers, but you have no clue what that means. you can't simply flip a switch and suddenly change IPs, there's a lot to it and it's complicated. -
because it wasn't clever, it was just psuedo-psychological BS. the kind I would expect to see in an english paper or something. we didn't need to know that. PSA: we don't need another kitty jail, don't turn this into another one.

this info is probably outdated now, as elo has tweeted that she moved over to 1.4.6 for development and now has a few more bugs to fix. thanks, mojang, for releasing yet another update and potentially delaying everything even more.

currently there aren't any other known security issues with FTB's launcher or server. while the FTB guys seem pretty quick to fix issues as they arise, their track record in terms of number of errors that they've had to scramble to fix is not comforting. if you're just playing some casual MC with your buddy, you're most likely going to be fine though.

ah, I see. still, the majority != everyone
-
unless they used pastie, or any number of other pastebin type websites.

the password is also sent over a secure SSL connection, note the "https" in that url. unless you're arguing that the client has the password as a plain string at all ever, which would be rather odd. MC isn't the most secure thing ever, far from it, but don't attempt to downplay how huge printing the passwords out in the error log is/was. there's miles of difference there.

while I'm all for laughing at FTB when they do something stupid (which is often), you should probably offer a bit more evidence for most of your claims OP. as it stands the only complaint you've got backed up is "they screw shit up in serious ways regularly" which is held up by the OPS.txt thing, the password leaks, and the other things you mentioned. the "team" thing is just you saying stuff, slowpoke being a toolbox is pretty true but you don't offer any reasons for it other than "he said a bad word to me ='[" and "he got drunk one time on stream and said 'fuck technic'". only one of those really counts and even then it's not exactly a smoking gun if you get my meaning. you are lacking specifics basically is what I'm saying. lastly, what exactly do you hope to accomplish by posting this? as much as I dislike the slowpoke, what's the point here other than to try and say that he's a tool? I mean, is that it?
-
if you posted a log anywhere from the FTB launcher it occurred, it sounds like. this may not be the FTB forums, but with an issue like this you can't have too much coverage when you're trying to get the word out. account security is serious business, even in minecraft.

I don't remember the exact version it was on when I got it, but it was well before survival multiplayer.

the title of this game makes me laugh. that's really all I have to say about it. I love wordplay.
