  1. I'd like to report or bring attention to a mod pack that seems to be abusing the Platform's rating and discovery system. It's called RC Pixelmon and over the last few months I've noticed it's climbing up the charts over well made original mod packs. What is it? Well out of curiosity it appears to be a crappy Pixelmon mod pack with no other mods installed besides Rei's Minimap and TMI. How was a mod pack like this climbing the charts so fast? Upon further investigation I found out that the mod pack is linked to a server that is giving special benefits to players for +1'ing the pack. So basically a server owner is shamelessly promoting his mod pack which is really more of just a Pixelmon server and taking away attention from actual well made mod packs that deserve it. Calling this a "mod pack" is stretching it, as he's just piggybacking off one mod (Pixelmon) in some slapped together mod pack. Is there anything that could be done to stop this? Thanks.
  2. I'm pretty sure that it means the Technic Launcher client UUID, not your Minecraft UUID as that was very recently introduced and Sodlder hasn't been updated since then.
  3. I've built a Solder test build of my mod pack and would like to test it privately in my launcher. On the Solder dashboard under "Client Management" it says to add the client UUID. I'm not sure how to find that, does anyone know where it is? Thanks.
  4. Make sure Java is updated and 64 bit, you need to allocate 2 GB of RAM or more in the Technic Launcher.
  5. I believe you're talking about the YogBox, and it's still available in the launcher if you want to play it.
  6. It's a method of hosting mods on your own database and having the Launcher download each mods, or set of "mods" you want individually. It's very hard to set up and from your posts I don't recommend it.
  7. Ok, something's definitely wrong there. The modpack.jar is JUST the forge universal renamed, and you only need that in the bin folder (make sure it's for 1.7.2 of course!) and have a mods and config folder included in your modpack.zip as well. Could you give me the pack download so I can see what's wrong more clearly?
  8. Yeah, I made a stupid mistake and accidentally forgot the Flan's mod folder, I'm releasing a hot-fix update that fixes this right now.
  9. So I've made a modpack recently that makes installing a non Forge mod for Minecraft easy. I compress all the class files inside a modpack.jar but it won't launch and gives me this: http://pastebin.com/uVZ3QCKf . I suspect it has something to do with the META INF, and I tried to overwrite it by replacing the MANIFEST file with a blank text file with the same name and extension but it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know how I can overwrite the META INF as I can't delete it since Technic downloads all the minecraft jar files?
  10. Wow, finally an original modpack with effort! I'm definitely checking this out and +1'ing it!
  11. I think it would be awesome for you guys to rent out Solder instances with a pre-done shared library of mods. As for modding other games, Starbound already has a great modding community and could benefit from having it's own Technic Launcher. Also about having more options than a +1 for rating packs, I worry that packs will get abused with a bunch of 1 star ratings (or however it will be done) from people who have potatoes that can't run the pack. The +1 may be simple, but it is also genius in that it prevents abuse by only allowing for a positive rating from those who enjoy the pack.
  12. I'm excited!
  13. actually the Technic Platform does support FTP, you just need to use the Solder API.
  14. Many mods will let you disable their type of ore in their configs.
  15. Wait, Tekkit Classic for MC 1.5.2? What sorcery is this?!
  16. So recently my Technic Launcher has been unable to open modpacks as it gets stuck at verifying libraries like lzma-0.0.1.jar and whatnot. It downloads them just fine, but won't verify or launch. And yes, I own Minecraft and am not pirating it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
  17. Just disable them by REMOVING them from the mods folder and putting them wherever you like.
  18. 1) don't thread jack (stealing someone else's thread) 2) your modpack archive needs to be a zip not a RAR, I recxomemd using 7zip and using normal zip format if you were going about it with WinRAR
  19. You don't want too little or too much RAM allocated, but is reccomended you and your GF allocate 2 GB of memory to the Technic launcher, that should make tekkit run smoother.
  20. Sometimes Mojang's authentication servers are down, nothing to do with Technic. Try later.
  21. True about how it resets options, but on the upside you dc can also set custom key bindings to avoid control conflicts.
  22. Yeah, I've been having trouble with my web host for the past few days so the modpack sorta broke. Will try to get it working again soon.
  23. Make sure it's a direct download link, you can do so in Chrome by copying it in Downloads.
  24. As of now ultra modded survival is broken as I'm Migrating Solder databases, it'll be fixed soon hopefully.
