  1. Why go through the hassle of having to upload a zip that may or may not work as a modpack and then add it to the platform and download it? Instead, just edit an existing modpack you have on the Technic Launcher, then you can quickly upload a working version.
  2. Make sure the modpack.jar is named correctly and in a jar format, not zip or rar. Also of course it has to be the recxomemd es forge universal jar for your Minecraft version renamed to modpack.jar. Did you compress all the files or put them in another folder and compress that? Make sure you select all the files and if you're using 7 zip to archive (don't use win rar) right clock and click add to archive, then make sure the archive is named modpack.zip.
  3. Great that it works now, but some tips for the future: 1. Don't use DropBox, bandwidth is limited And that's a huge issue if you want your pack to be popular. 2. You can always get direct download links from practically any host by downloading it, going into the downloads page on Chrome (not sure about other browsers) and copying the link under that download.
  4. It amazes me how many people don't test their packs on the minecraft launcher locally before releasing it, as you're literally releasing an untested modpack.
  5. Simply include the options.txt file into the modpack zip (make sure the resource pack is selected on your client)
  6. I agree that's it hard for original modpacks to succeed when extremely minor deviations from Tekkit and Youtube Lets Play modpacks (like my Ultra Modded Survival pack for instance) get so many likes. Maybe the Platform should have a modpack of the week/month that spotlights a pack that has effort put into it and is a new and original idea.
  7. I don't think so, but it may be a config option so I recommend you go look in the server configs and see if it's possible.
  8. He's not going to understand any of that, I'll just link him the Modpack Suggestion page.
  9. If you really don't think you're ready to make a modpacks then there's always TwoTails thread on modpack requests.
  10. Pretty sure it has to do with Solder, this happened with me as well.
  11. My mod pack "Ultra Modded Survival" platform page is no longer accessible. I click on the link (and I've tried this from multiple computers) and it times out and never loads. The strange thing is that other mod packs of my own are accessible, but this one isn't. It may be because it's he only one of my modpacks yet that uses the Solder API (I haven't migrated the rest yet) and I am in the process of changing web hosts, I have a suspicion that might be it. I'd unlink it from solder temporarily if I could, but I can't even access he pack page, let alone the edit functionality. It's kind of worrying because it has over 600 likes and I would hate to have to delete it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Also the platform URL won't work when added to the Technic launcher, but I realize his is because my solder is down, but I didn't know it would brick my pack.
  12. Why is this happening? I've seen like three of these so far.
  13. It's the mod creator's issue, go tell him in the discussion for the pack.
  14. I actually prefer Pixlr Online, it's pretty fully featured for what it is.
  15. Windows Compressor is bad, use 7zip instead
  16. External USB graphics cards, that'd be awesome. I could actually hook up a GTX Titan to my MacBook Air...
  17. http://imgur.com/pWaMPJ1 That good?
  18. I'm no expert in tech mods but I'm pretty sure there's a few ways to generate power with thermal expansion through liquids, you don't need build craft anymore.
  19. Also I noticed they updated their interface to a more windows 8 looks which I kinda like. I'm surprised I don't hear more people hosting from them, but I guess Dropbox is faster with download and upload speeds. After my new ultra modded survival pack got 71 likes in the first three days of its existence and over 5,000 downloads I knew Dropbox would murder me had I hosted it there.
  20. Woo! I am the maker of the #1 rated modpack made in 2014 so far!

  21. NOTICE: Due to several crashes and general unstability one the SMP side of things with SkyTek MaxCraft regrets to inform you that our SkyTek will no longer be running (for now anyway). I've also been increasingly busy, with high school applications, tests, family and sporting events, etc. Hopefully in the coming weeks MaxCraft will return as a server on a more stable modpack once I get the free time, maybe an official pack (most likely Attack of the B-Team). Thanks for being part of MaxCraft, and we hope to see you on the next (and hopefully MUCH more permanent) server! In the meantime, feel free to leave suggestions on what you want the next MaxCraft server to be.
  22. It can be installed on server, hence the whole point of this thread. If you have a problem with the client (mod pack itself) then you can leave it in the discussion on the pack page.
  23. Yeah once my mod packs started getting over 500 downloads a day Dropbox instantly failed for me
  24. Technic Forums, today I bring you a host I found that has unlimited bandwidth and relatively fast upload and download speeds. Copy.com is great because they give you 15 GB of free space and unlimited bandwidth. I know I sound like an advertisement, but trust me they're not perfect. Direct links are hard to get a hold of and the interface could use some work, but besides that it's a relatively good host. Just wanted to share this with the community XD
  25. Later tonight it will be
