Grindle2000 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 For those of us who had no idea what Godwin's Law was. I had never heard that before interesting read.
okamikk Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 For those of us who had no idea what Godwin's Law was. I had never heard that before interesting read. ... i invoked a LAW OF THE INTERNET by accident? I... feel content.
Xylord Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 ... i invoked a LAW OF THE INTERNET by accident? I... feel content. Not a law of the Internet, more like a general rule for arguments. Eventually, if it goes on for long enough, one side will most definitely end up calling the other side a nazi, or hitler, inevitably.
NightKev Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 That's the law/rule/theory/what-the-fuck-ever that you DON'T want to invoke, btw.
freakachu Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 That's the law/rule/theory/what-the-fuck-ever that you DON'T want to invoke, btw. indeed, the person who invokes godwin's law is automatically the loser of any debate and also ends it. the law originated on usenet, back in the dark ages.

I didn't call anyone a nazi/hitler though... i stated a simple fact
Xylord Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I didn't call anyone a nazi/hitler though... i stated a simple fact Correction actually, the Godwin law is seen in action every time nazis or Hitler are brought up in a discussion, which happens inevitably. It's only that in the context of an argument, it is most likely to be used as an insult.
Grindle2000 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 That law could be extended to include any word in the English language Eventually, if a discussion goes on long enough, every single word in the language will be used at one time or another, granted this would take a extraordinary amount of time. Grindle's Law of Extraordinary Word Usage 8-)

GreenWolf13 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 "Given enough time, a thousand monkeys with a thousand typewriters could recreate the all of Shakespeare work." -Whoever the hell said this first. Given enough time I may actually care.
miniboxer Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 "Given enough time, a thousand monkeys with a thousand typewriters could recreate the all of Shakespeare work." -Whoever the hell said this first. this isn't true. if it were, the internet would be full of poetry and plays.
Jorcer Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 this isn't true. if it were, the internet would be full of poetry and plays. No because the internet has not been around for an infinite amount of time.
GreenWolf13 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 No because the internet has not been around for an infinite amount of time. While that is true, the internet has been around for a long time. It was created by a wizard named Jonathan Grahm in the year 100 BCE. Mr. Grahm was experimenting with micro-dimensions, and inadvertently created the internet. The internet is really a series of micro-dimensions that are interconnected by spatial singularity tunnels.

Hushful Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 A release of noxious fumes from the rectum of most mammals that leads to the question, "Holy crap, was that you?", being asked a lot.

Grindle2000 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 "See the TURTLE of enormous girth, On his shell he holds the earth. If you want to run and play, Come along the BEAM today." "See the TURTLE of enormous girth! On his shell he holds the earth. His thought is slow but always kind; He holds us all within his mind. On his back all vows are made; He sees the truth but mayn't aid. He loves the land and loves the sea, And even loves a child like me." Bonus points for anyone who knows where this quote is from.
Grindle2000 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Woot 10 e-peen points for Hushful, they are from The Gunslinger series by Stephen King. My Favorite quote from that series is: “I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I aim with my eye. I do not shoot with my hand; he who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I shoot with my mind. I do not kill with my gun; he who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father. I kill with my heart.” I have to say I love that series but I hated the ending. Don't get me wrong it was a good ending and it fit , but it wasn't the one i would have liked.
