    That's a good point if the 'eating' noise annoys you.  You don't have to 'eat' the chisel if you don't want to (it's easier to not go a step too far if you use it on a bench or recipe too, I find I have a hard time 'eating' the right amount of chisel).

    Eye_Mine, Kalbintion is correct, there are 3 chisels;

    Chisel Mod Chisel = the one you're talking about Eye_Mine, this one lets you put blocks into it to be changed into other versions.
    Carpenters Chisel = this requires carpenters blocks, and the blocks need their texture to be on already.  It adds a kind of overlay texture.
    Tinkers Construct Chisel = this is the one you 'eat', use it on ordinary stone to change it into bricks, etc.

    You need the JDK version for macOS, not the Apple auto-download version, you'll need to go here; https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

    P.S. Tell the other mac users who are having this problem about this, it's probably the same thing (apples version of java 1.7 is only for Safari, not the OS as standard).

    Loader got a reaction from Blacklight9 in Question about a server warning.
    I can't talk you through warmroast (I use opis and visualVM because I'm lazy and those are what I had at hand rather than me advocating them specifically) but I can help you with your java question.

    My launch.bat reads;
    java -Xmx8G -Xms2G -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote -jar BTeam.jar nogui So it's calling whatever java is in the path by default (could be either 32 or 64 bit), using 8gig ram max (-Xmx8G) starts by allocating a 2 gig segment (-Xms2g) does some stuff to allow visualVM to read from it (ignore the Dcom switch, you don't need it), then opens the b-team server (-jar BTeam.jar) without a gui (nogui extension on BTeam.jar).

    Obviously all those numbers I'm asking of it are crazy for 32-bit java, so lets check what we're actually running.  Open up a command prompt window (in windows I usually just use Windows Key-R to open the run box and type cmd to open the command interpreter), I then type in java -version and it looks like this;
    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:UsersLoader>java -version java version "1.7.0_51" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_51-b13) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.51-b03, mixed mode) C:UsersLoader> Cool, so I'm apparently running Java 1.7, update 51, in 64-bit when I just type java.  That's why that request works.

    If you can make sure that you're running 64-bit java with at least say 4GB ram assigned (-Xmx4G) then that's a good start.  If you're still getting warning messages then there's no choice, you'll need to get more detail like disconsented said but we can deal with that when we get to it.

    I'm not sure if this should be in the tracker or here, as it's kind of not a bug or issue and more optimization, so if a mod sees this and has an opinion either way please let me know.

    I try to find cactus quickly early on as it's useful for a lot of tools - I'll list my preferences in order.

    Early game:
    Weapons (damage is important, durability is important, enchantability not important)
    Blade = Cactus > Flint
    Crossbar = Bone > Flint > Cactus
    Rod = Bone > Cactus > Wood

    Tools (speed important, repair material important, eurability important, enchantability not important)
    Head = Cactus > Stone
    Binding = Stone (if not used above for stonebound trait) > Bone > Flint > Cactus
    Rod = Bone > Cactus > Wood

    The goal of this stage of the game is to find iron and if possible, blue slime from underneath slime islands (if you can get up on top then that's even better).  You'll need sand, clay and gravel for the next step, but you can choose if you want to make that step;
    The Tool Forge: Earlier access to the excavator, lumber axe and hammer for mining resources quickly, but you lose out on some efficiency by not having the smeltery up first.  With B-Teams resources if you're not planning on going to the nether soon or haven't got any access to lava yet then this is a pretty good choice.
    The Smeltery: This will allow you to switch to making metal tools and increase the output of smelted ores by double.
    You'll need to do both before moving on, so the only choice is which way around you'd like to do it (if you go smeltery first then you're probably not going to upgrade to second-tier tools until you make metal ones).  I find it worth it to start making moss stone at this point to put a moss ball on each of my tools (you need cobblestone and a bucket of water to do this).

    The mid game has a lot of its options removed (alumite, bronze) by easy access to steel in the B-Team.  It's by far the best choice of its tier for most of these things, so unless you feel like it's a bit cheaty you should use it.  Cook iron ingots in an ordinary furnace to make steel ingots which you'll melt down in the smeltery.
    Mid-Game
    Weapons (damage is important, enchantability is important, durability is important)
    Blade = Steel > Alumite
    Crossbar = Paper (if you feel you'll be likely to stay with this tool for a while) > Blue Slime > Steel > Green Slime > Alumite > Bronze > Iron
    Rod = Blue Slime > Green Slime > Steel > Alumite > Bronze > Iron
    Enchantment = 1x Moss Ball, Nether Quartz to max if struggling in nether
      Tools (speed important, enchantability important, durability important, repair material not important)
    Head = Steel > Alumite > Bronze > Iron (Bronze or Iron are debatable, probably not worth the upgrade effort unless you're never intending to visit the nether in which case put a diamond on it)
    Binding = Paper (if you feel you'll be likely to stay with this tool for a while) > Blue Slime > Steel > Green Slime > Alumite > Bronze > Iron
    Rod = Blue Slime > Green Slime > Steel > Alumite > Bronze > Iron
    Enchantment = 1x Moss Ball, Redstone to max
      The Mid-game introduces hammers, excavators and lumber axes if you haven't seen them yet.  Generally you'll want to make a tool that needs plates with the same material you use for the head unless you're trying to save resources.  If you haven't started making moss-balls to auto-repair your tools, now is the time to do that.  The goal of this stage is to have the tools you need to mine cobalt and ardite in the nether, and weapons capable of fighting off the nasties you'll find there.     The end-game focuses on the nether and two materials you'll make from what you find there, cobalt (for tools) and manyullyn (an alloy of cobalt and ardite for weapons). End-Game
    Weapons (enchantability is important, damage is important, durability is important)
    Blade = Manyullyn
    Crossbar = Paper
    Rod = Manyullyn > Blue Slime
    Enchantment = 1x Moss Ball, Nether Quartz to max if struggling in nether, Diamond + Gold block to allow more nether quartz.
      Tools (speed is important, enchantability is important, durability is important)
    Head = Cobalt (faster than manyullyn but won't mine manyullyn blocks, not an issue... unless you accidentally place one down) > Manyullyn
    Binding = Paper
    Rod = Manyullyn > Blue Slime
    Enchantment = 1x Moss Ball, Redstone to max, Diamond + Gold block to allow more redstone.

    There are a few exceptions to this (I like to make a cleaver that does just over 20 damage and add looting for the rest of the enchantments for example) but this covers most things except bows.  That should have you sorted for most tools.

    Bows are a strange one - the bow damage value is irrelevant (it applies to you physically whacking things with the bow rather than using arrows), you only care about its draw speed, arrow speed and durability.
    Bows
    Rod = Blue Slime/Green Slime > Wood/Cactus
    String = Fiery Bowstring > Bowstring
    Enchantment = 1x Moss Ball, Redstone to max, Diamond + Gold block to allow more redstone (to max draw speed).
    Metals on bows allow a good arrow speed (on par with slime) but a very slow draw speed (twice as long as slime), even manyullyn isn't worth using for a bow.

    Arrows (Best Damage)
    Arrowhead = Manyullyn
    Rod = Paper
    Fletching = Feather Fletching
    Enchantment = Make a full stack of arrows first, then max nether quartz and Diamond + Gold Block to allow more.

    Arrows (Fast w/no enchantment)
    Arrowhead = Cactus
    Rod = Blue Slime/Green Slime
    Fletching = Feather Fletching

    Arrows (Cheap but fast - Loader's favorite)
    Arrowhead = Cactus
    Rod = Paper
    Fletching = Feather Fletching > Leaf Fletching
    (easy to farm the components and so cheap you've got no fear of losing them, very fast arrow makes easier aiming with little drop - still very enchantable for PvP in an emergency and you're familiar with the arrow drop because you probably regularly use them)

    You need a few things to do the conversion, assuming you've got some system set up where you've got berries coming down a pipe already;
    Berries go into an autonomous activator set to right-click, this will drop xp orbs on the floor. Under the activator is a sewer with a bronze upgrade (or higher). A fluiduct comes out the bottom of the sewer, it goes to the tanks where you'd like to store essence and sewage (it seems to make a small amount of sewage no matter what). Upgrade the pipes into the two tanks with pneumatic servos. Get a bucket of mob essence manually and use it to set one tank's pipe input to whitelisted mob essence and the other one to blacklisted mob essence. (this will mean mob essence will be the only thing that goes in one tank and it will not ever go into the other tank - but sewage will). That's it!

    Andrew, Melfice isn't being facetious here, no-one here has the power to make apple update your java version.

    The issue you're having is with the Java symlinks not updating correctly in MacOS - it updates them for safari, but that's all.  The JDK may work for you, so it may be worth trying that, but yelling at people this way is the equivalent of putting diesel in a petrol car then yelling at the gas station to make diesel work with your car.

    If you've got none of those (sometimes you won't if it's crashed in the launcher before starting minecraft), you can find the launcher logs by clicking on the cog in the top right of the Technic Launcher and clicking the logs button.  The latest file is usually the one you want.

    Once you've got it, you can paste it here; http://paste.ubuntu.com/ and it'll give you a link which you can put in the forums (that makes reading it easier for us and also allows you to paste large amounts of info which you can't do on the forums).

    If you've got a problem downloading a modpack (including attack of the B-Team). You'll find the most help here; http://forums.technicpack.net/tracker/project-1-technic-launcher/ If you can download it but not run it, you can find help for that here; http://forums.technicpack.net/tracker/project-4-attack-of-the-b-team/ If you can run it but you're struggling with something actually in the game, post here in this forum

    More is needed most likely, depending on the computer and texture pack people seem to be happiest with anywhere from 1.5GB to 3GB.  1GB is very variable, some machines will crash occasionally, others regularly, but pretty much all will crash on 1GB eventually.

    Hi! I'm sorry my mod crashed, but I've just updated it! I changed the generation code and added more options in the configuration file, so have a look at it if you want

    Loader got a reaction from LegallyOzzie in 1.0.9c Won't start
    For the record, this isn't entirely Apple dickishness (though they're being dicks and you should certainly complain to them or they'll keep thinking it's ok to do things like this), Oracle deserves some of the blame for being dicks too.

    With that said, the only way you can do it that I can think of is to get some software like Pacifist (this will allow you to install packages manually in MacOS)
    http://www.charlessoft.com/
    Then use it to run 'JDK 7 Update X.pkg' in the 'jdk7-7uX-macosx-x64.dmg' file you download from

    Loader got a reaction from RealSketch in Possible mod that could be added to the pack
    It also can be used for pretty easy griefing (it can fly through walls and suffocate players stuck in it).

    Once they've got some collision detection working it might be worth it, but as it is now it'd be a nightmare if someone decided to abuse it.
