Possible to have tekkit and bukkit worlds on same server?
Phuriousgeorge replied to Quo's topic in Server Op Swap Shop
Quick answer to your specific quesiton: no Bukkit and Tekkit require different clients, and passing back and forth will not work. It IS possible to run two different, not-connected servers on the same -Dedicated- server. I say dedicated, because you're going to run into resource issues if you try to run both on a VPS, even if you figure out how to run both. It's the same as running multiple Bukkit servers on the same machine. I've ran 3 on a dedi at one time before. That being said, you COULD link the chats from the two differnt servers together using an IRC plugin or something similar to keep the community talking with each other, but they'd have to log into their other client to join the 2nd server. -
Also plugins like NoItem or disablecraft. I know certain preventions can break at times, so I'm double protected ;)

Good thing the Technic launcher retains login info, so this doesn't show up much. Could see this causing a little trouble though.

I use ChestShop2, latest version for 1.2.5. Works just fine. I've looked into Job plugins as well, but haven't decided on one. There's several out there, but it depends on what you're looking for. Do you want to gain experience in a tradeskill through a job, or just want to assign people tasks of delivering 9001 cobble for x# of currency kind of like a quest?

IC2 also has a player ID, but I do not think it's assigned to the Laser's effect.

No, don't remove the files. I figure you can just edit the mod_EE.props Here's an example from that file: machineFactor=2 CondenserGUI=46 CollectorGUI=47 Collector2GUI=0 Collector3GUI=0 AlchChestGUI=50 DMFurnaceGUI=51 RMFurnaceGUI=0 RelayGUI=53 Relay2GUI=54 Relay3GUI=55 AlchBagGUI=56 TransmutationGUI=57 PortableTransmutationGUI=58 PortableCraftingGUI=59 PedestalGUI=60 MercurialGUI=61 ExtraKey=46 ChargeKey=47 ToggleKey=34 ReleaseKey=19 BlockEEStone=126 BlockEEPedestal=0 I set BlockEEPedestal to "0", not allowing it to assign an item ID when the server loads, which should make it non-existant and remove it like Ashezz described above. As I said, I haven't tested it, just a good theory. Also, I wouldn't make a habbit of it because again, items like iron shovels (ID 256) start doing weird things. So, remove it, load the map, make sure the pedestal is gone, then put the item ID back to what it was.

Modifyworld and PermissionsEx problems
Phuriousgeorge replied to DarkRender's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Hmm, I have all of my config collected into a few permission nodes without x's. Let me see if I can get it off my FTP from my phone and copy it here really quick... Done. Here's what I've got as an example, and works perfectly: - -modifyworld.items.(craft|drop|have|pickup).(23|46|126:0|126:1|126:2|126:4|126:5|126:6|126:7|126:10|126:11|128:1|130|149|178|179|190:6|194:2|207|208|214|216:?*|233|237|239|246:5|250:15|7270|7303|7310|7493|27526:?*|27527:?*|27530:?*|27531:?*|27532:?*|27533:?*|27534:?*|27535:?*|27536:?*|27537:?*|27538:?*|27543:?*|27544:?*|27545:?*|27546:?*|27547:?*|27548:?*|27549:?*|27550:?*|27551:?*|27552:?*|27553:?*|27555:?*|27556:?*|27564:?*|27565:?*|27566:?*|27567:?*|27568:?*|27569:?*|27570:?*|27572:?*|27573:?*|27574:?*|27575:?*|27576:?*|27577:?*|27578:?*|27579:?*|27580:?*|27581:?*|27582:?*|27583:?*|27584:?*|27592|27593:?*|27594|30148:?*|30149:?*|30173:?*|30177:?*|30208:?*|30213|30214|30215) - -modifyworld.blocks.(place|interact|destroy).(23|46|126:0|126:1|126:2|126:4|126:5|126:6|126:7|126:10|126:11|128:1|130|149|178|179|190:6|194:2|207|208|214|216:?*|233|237|239|246:5|250:15|7270|7303|7310|7493|27526:?*|27526:?*|27527:?*|27530:?*|27531:?*|27532:?*|27533:?*|27534:?*|27535:?*|27536:?*|27537:?*|27538:?*|27543:?*|27544:?*|27545:?*|27546:?*|27547:?*|27548:?*|27549:?*|27550:?*|27551:?*|27552:?*|27553:?*|27554|27555:?*|27556:?*|27562:?*|27564:?*|27565:?*|27566:?*|27567:?*|27568:?*|27569:?*|27570:?*|27572:?*|27573:?*|27574:?*|27575:?*|27576:?*|27577:?*|27578:?*|27579:?*|27580:?*|27581:?*|27582:?*|27583:?*|27584:?*|27592|27593:?*|27594|30148:?*|30149:?*|30173:?*|30175:?*|30176:?*|30177:?*|30178:?*|30186|30208:?*|30213|30214|30215) Sorry about the large code window...doesn't want to get any smaller -.- -
Your assumption on changing the resolution to reduce size is correct. It's also dependant on the size of your world. Doesn't matter how many people are playing on it. I think my vhires map for a 7k x 7k map was about 7GB of dynmap and about 500k files. Change that down to a lowres and you'll cut resources needed significantly. My suggestion is to run it from your local PC with your settings and see what it takes up, tweak it, and try again that way you don't screw up your map. Also - you can configure it to only render certain views and maps ie: Iso, Flat, Cave. I removed Cave mapping and mapping support for The_End and Nether to recover resources as well since there's really no reason for me to display those maps. Since then, I've moved and have more than enough HD space, so it's back to vhires for me Note: it's also recomended to change your config while hosting locally while testing to make sure you configured it right (config is a bit tricky 1st time) so you don't screw any existing maps up on your server and have to re-render.

Just banning items won't fix items already placed. While what you did fixed the problem, it's a bit severe I know there are plugins that remove all spawners and chests throughout the world going through each chunk. It be great if someone (maybe I will when I get the chance) would look into modifying one to allow the item ID it looks for to be customizeable through a command, but you'd definetly not want anyone to have access to the commands or there could be massive chaos. Also, not entirely sure if it would work, but if you went into the EE config and removed the Item ID for the specific item, I'd suspect when the chunk that contained it loaded, it would remove the block/entity because the server wouldn't recognize the ID, similar to what happened when you removed EE all together. Again, this is just speculation. I haven't tested it myself. Either way, you'd want to restrict access to your server while you do either of the above actions to minimize any collateral damage ;)

Griefprev. Not working. Miss an update?

Some plugins have that issue. Just push your new config up during a shutdown and it'll persist. -

Modifyworld and PermissionsEx problems
Phuriousgeorge replied to DarkRender's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Is that the way it's entered? With a period rather than a colon? (ie: - -modifyworld.blocks.place.126:5) I don't do permissions in-game, so haven't experienced it, but I do know within the file you use the colon. -
So. you got yourself a tekkit server?
Phuriousgeorge replied to RadioHasNoFuture's topic in Server Op Swap Shop
I block what I need with a plugin to disable crafting like disablecraft or NoItem, then in addition, create modifyworld permissions to prevent the players from doing anything with the blocks or items as a secondary measure just in case one or the other break at some point. Also, regarding setting item IDs to 0, you have to be careful with that, it sometimes results in really strange errors such as the formidable Iron Shovel glitch, where it will either act like it's a philosopher stone or corrupt the player.dat files due to it's unique item ID (256). -
Disable musket PVP on spawn, shops, ...
Phuriousgeorge replied to DoctorSLO's topic in Server Op Swap Shop
Weapons mod bypasses the no PVP flags. I've been running into this problem myself and would like to figure out an overall fix, as I have some worlds with PVP enabled and some without. -
why was workbench 3 removed D:

And not compatable with the lastest Forge Modloader. Please use the search function. There's at least 2 or more posts on this daily. -

Just op the mod player. Just be sure to include the brackets [buildCraft] [industrialCraft] [RedPower] [ComputerCraft] -
Yes, I agree it was neat, but - As mike said, It was glitchy And it could bypass crafting restrictions And it had the potential to dupe And it caused 1000's of players to bitch about it being disabled due to the above And it's really lazy I do like the QuickBench plugin myself as a compromise. It appears to abide by the player crafting rules and doesn't allow instant end-item access.

Ermm, the only thing I can think of is possibly you server can't handle the impressiveness of a nuke and cancels the operation in order to save the integrity of the server? I blow holes in maps all the time with nukes and I'm heavy on plugins.

IronChests protection plugin?
Phuriousgeorge replied to Kenneth A. Endfinger's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
LWC works just fine. Search these forums for some helpful people that have uploaded their configs (hint: I have) or look at your LWC config and modify it yourself. Happy hunting! -
The 1st issue - do you have NoLagg installed? Try removing it. I had the same/similar errors this weekend and it turned out to be plugins breaking the mods. The second one had been reported to the HeroChat authors some time ago and they've declined to work on it, as it does not break a server (even though I HATE seeing errors on my console -.-)

Automatic Sphax BD craft in Tekkit
Phuriousgeorge replied to elmarko98's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
If what you're stating is that they should include the "Vanilla" Tekkit pack and Spax in the download for ease of access - Tekkit changes and adds/removes blocks over time. If it was included, I'd expect the textures to be complete when Tekkit was upgraded and released, however that's not how things go. Also, personally - I don't want it taking up space on my hard drive because I don't want it. What's awesome to you doesn't necessarily apply to everyone else. Why do you think there are so many differnet packs for vanilla? -
Well said! Sadly Equivalent Exhange is hardly Equivalent in Tekkit. More of an unofficial creative mode IMO.
