  1. Wither Skeletons occasionally drop them.
  2. OP, you're doing something wrong. Server and client files work fine for everyone else.
  3. I think the OP is looking for more information about the armors themselves, such as what kind of bonuses or special abilities does a given armor piece have. That type of information isn't always going to be readily available, some mod developers like a bit of mystery and discovery and like their users to figure things out on their own.
  4. +1 As one of "the next guys", any help with the wiki is much appreciated. Even if you are copy/pasting from the mod's official wiki, it's better than nothing, which is what we have now. Someone wrote a Tekkit Guide for the Wiki that give you some starting ideas, something like that for Hexxit would be nice. I've been starting on documenting Tinkers' Construct, which is woefully lacking in information even on the 'official' wikis.
  5. If you are on a Mac, use launch.sh instead. You'll need to open Terminal, change directory to the folder you extracted, then type
  6. Screenshot?
  7. I think Tinker's Construct will be the first stop on developing the Hexxit Wiki for me.
  8. I was wondering this myself. Would like to start fleshing out the Hexxit Wiki.
  9. Lower the floor inside the tank one block down, so the controller and lava tank have empty air behind them. Also, the lava tank and controller should be next to each other. No glass, seared windows are optional, seared bricks all the way around is fine.
  10. So, I'm still pretty low on the Hexxit tech tree (magic tree?), have a cobble house to protect from mobs at night and have only just harvested enough cotton to make enough wool for a bed. I try to sleep one night and get the standard "can't sleep monsters nearby" message, so I wait it out until dawn. Come dawn, I CATCH FIRE. What? I go outside to try to find the errant spider that was keeping me from sleeping and there's this skeleton with a special name (can't recall exactly what it was, I was far too panicked to make note), 130HP and enchantments up the wazoo. Some kind of antigravity shot that fires me into the air, sets me on fire, poisons me or something… Clearly, I die. However, I respawn with all my XP and NONE of my gear. Nothing on the ground where I died. What in the nine hells just happened, and how can I prevent something like that from happening again? Death is a usually temporary inconvenience, and provided you don't drown and your items spread across the ocean floor getting gear back is relatively painless. But death from some random super mob that aggro'd me for no apparent reason… unfair.
  11. Ah, nice to know it's intentional. I was starting to worry that the wrong ore gen config was included.
  12. You'll need a pattern made in the [[ME Pattern Encoder]] with one redstone, one gold ingot, and the output specified as a [[Redstone Golden Chipset]]. This means you'll need to first make one manually, then build the pattern and place it in the "processing" part of the Interface GUI. Then when the you request a Redstone Golden Chipset from an [[ME Access Terminal]], it should send one redstone and one gold ingot to the [[Assembly Table]]. I'm not sure what side of the table the [[interface]] needs to be, and which side you can extract from, but it may be that the Interface can also pull the finished chipset back into the network. Can you tell I've been editing the wiki far too much?
  13. Hey Watson! I've seen you in the 'recent changes' page of the Wiki, doing stuff like deleting misnamed content and blocking assholes from defacing the wiki. Is it safe to say you are the official head honcho go to guy for all things Wiki? Weir and I have been churning out content, but sort of ad hoc without any direction. If we need some backend changes done, like installing or modifying stuff that only admins can access, should we reach out to you? [Edit: Oh, also, regarding renaming without leaving a redirect… it seems to me the best way to do this is to use the "What links here" link from the toolbox, adjust all of the pages that point to that page, then move the main page. That about right?]
  14. Nice, thanks for the info.
  15. Yes, build 1.1.5. Texture pack is a Sphax-frankenstein.
  16. Whoa, how did you do this? Moving and deleting content is beyond me, do you need to have updated permissions or something?
  17. Hmm, might only be in later builds of MPS. Sorry, wait for 1.1.5, works for me there.
  18. "TE Ores now have MFR laser foci" I'm going to have to repeat my testing for the wiki.
  19. Press the "L" key to bring up the MPS Customization GUI. Play around with that, not sure if you can replicate that exact effect but there are other models and components you can turn on/off.
  20. I had a pipe from bedrock to sea level (64 tall, I believe) and I've burned through nearly all of it powering an MFR Laser Drill. If you haven't updated Tekkit to 1.1.5 (not a recommended build yet, still testing), you won't be able to do that yet, but something to look forward to. Start generating even more, because that drill burns a LOT of MJ. I've got a biofuel/bioreactor setup with 8 different kinds of organics getting turned into fuel in 3 BioReactors, and the tube feeds an array of something like 30 or so BioFuel Generators.
  21. My only suggestion would be be to collapse/hide the tables by default, that should help cut down on the size of the page. I agree, there isn't a lot of depth to this mod so individual pages for each weapon doesn't make a lot of sense. Have you been able to figure out how to make recipes that display alternate items, such as wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond for the weapons? Minecraftwiki uses Media Wiki as well, and I tried copying the code there but it doesn't seem to work on this installation. [Edit: I edited the melee weapons section so you'd have an example, make sure you place a table header by specifying !Table Title after the class="collapsible wikitable collapsed" line.]
  22. Um, everything? Launch the Tekkit modpack from TechnicLauncher(.jar/.exe, depending on your platform). http://www.technicpack.net/download Select the Tekkit Modpack, press the gear icon underneath it, change to manually select a build then select 1.1.5.
  23. http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/board-rules-and-guidelines.3918/ No chat or chan speak - LOL THAT'S FAIL! OMG LIEK CAN I HAS MUDKIPS ROFLLLL +1 DIAMOND WIN 4 U LULZ - No. Minor infractions all around! No backseat modding Crap.
  24. I take it a step further and store almost everything in raw ore for the same reason. I still need to build in a system for maintaining minimum levels of certain items, but for now am content to every once it a while drop a stack of something into something else to process into dust or ingots, for funsies.
  25. Find a server admin who you trust and can trust you, or run your own server. It sounds to me like you are playing on servers who have locked down their shit to the level of paranoia. Its a trivial matter to have the default gamemode for everyone to be survival (0), and by using that command to change only one user's gamemode to creative (1). I've done it on my own server because I trust my users, and we all play nice in the sandbox together.
