  1. It tends to speed up chunk loading a little (if you have the world in a RAMdisk or on an SSD or something) but I haven't noticed much difference by just shifting it to another mechanical drive - it may well though given the amount mapwriter puts on the disk if you're not using a SSD. I'd check these two commands first; /forge tps /cofh tps They'll both give you tick and processing information on the currently loaded worlds so you can see if one dimension in particular seems to be soaking up processor time. I'd also run the game with task manager open for a bit so you can check to see if your CPU use it topping out on the performance tab (as an aside you can turn on 'show kernel times' for that graph - it'll give a red line to indicate system processes - if IO is an issue it'll probably show up there as a red spike when the system waits for a response).
  2. Reset the pack, that should sort it (the cog on the left under the b-team menu icon has that option). That'll cause it to redownload the modpack files, including (hopefully) the minecraft april-fools version you seem to have.
  3. There also needs to be something (anything) molten in the smeltery so it'll do damage, melt an iron ingot or something first. Your English seems fine to me, better than many native speakers I meet on the internet. Dresden is a lovely place
  4. Yes it does - you can use most metals from tinkers construct to make a tool forge (as well as make it with diamond or emerald blocks if you really wanted). Tin, Copper, Aluminium, it's all fine. The galacticraft aluminium block doesn't work, you need to convert it to the TE aluminium first with a unifier, that's the bug.
  5. For the benefit of people browsing, this is incorrect, 1.0.9+ works fine on Java 1.7. If you're running on Java 1.6 or earlier though you'll have a bad time (loads in the launcher, then drops you right back into the launcher).
  6. Ok, both Chris and Rikkerd, both of those things aren't normal but we'll probably need more info - please read this; http://forums.technicpack.net/tracker/project-7-tracker-rules-and-guidelines/ And post appropriately here for better help; http://forums.technicpack.net/tracker/project-4-attack-of-the-b-team/
  7. I know optifine works, but is is faster or slower without optifine for you? (it shuffles load, some things are arguably better and others arguably worse, if your limit is CPU then it may be a bad choice).
  8. Were they being serious? Who knows? Who cares though - much fun was had in this thread, so does it matter?
  9. Oh, I've got it! I know why this feels like such a familiar situation! Deja-vu solved
  10. How is it without optifine? That processor will struggle a bit to handle the CPU load of this pack - stick to 1.5GB max (higher will only put more load on it, 1.5GB may give you occasional crashes but it'll play better).
  11. Going back a fair way to a much earlier version you could sit on them, yeah, there's a bug somewhere though so it's disabled (in the furniture mod) until that's fixed.
  12. Please post this kind of issue up on the tracker, it's easier to follow there. You should read the rules for it here first (they're helpful); http://forums.technicpack.net/tracker/project-7-tracker-rules-and-guidelines/
  13. It's actually in the hats interface, check there;
  14. Oh yeah definitely, (upon prompting) one of my friends has admitted they are Cruatiattican. The terribly low GDP of that country makes it hard for them to import anything. I don't think they even have a top level domain or wikipedia page, you know? Rough times.
  15. Glitched power doesn't really cause crashes, it corrupts chunks (until a server reboot it's usually fine, afterwards there's a huge missing or funky chunk where it used to be - the server simply cannot store the impossible values that can end up in one of those systems). If you've got backups I guess you could restore just those areas from them so it wouldn't be a huge issue. I've had problems with minions causing anything from lag to crashes, it seems to be a luck thing. Sometimes they're fine. I usually turn off morph because it does funny things like leaving entities in portals after teleporting (that can cause crashes, but a server restart clears them up). Archimedes ships if combined with certain blocks (notably the carpenters blocks) will cause a local crash for anyone around the entity on the server. The server stays up though (because the entity disappears when the player gets kicked and doesn't come back until the player does it doesn't even overload the server or leave a 'dead' area like the oven). The crayfish oven can have its config file modded to allow it to cook most food types, Halestorm posted his tweak a while back.
  16. That's fascinating - so you're loading the same .jar (bteam?) but with some different switches in the jar? I'd like to see what you've put in your run.bat/launch.bat if you don't mind, I couldn't be more serious when I say I hope it'll provide me with a lot of entertainment
  17. Let me know if you struggle, I'm off for a few hours (sleep) but post back here and I'll give you my world seed and a map to a village (I'll need to test it first as it was generated a few versions ago if it comes to that, need to make sure it behaves the same).
  18. It's probably bad luck, try again with biomesoplenty on - do a forum search for village seeds, I think there's been a couple (maybe best/favorite seeds? Try a search for seeds anyway) and generate one of those.
  19. Kayne, you'd be surprised what's entertaining here. I'm not sure how you think that some settings in the run.bat make it cracked, though. I'd really love to hear you explain it - you've lost me.
  20. Hey man, post up your client crashlog on the tracker and we'll help out. That log should point you to the exact block that's causing the problem and you can use something like MCEdit to remove it. Not having the best of luck overall, huh?
  21. Please post with your logs up on the tracker after reading the guidelines, Thanhzy, it's easier to follow this kind of thing there. Links to help are in my signature.
  22. Try here if you haven't already; http://forums.technicpack.net/forum/75-attack-of-the-b-team-servers/ What's the "Sons of Ben"? I'm Ben, and I assume no responsibility without further proof.
  23. You might have better luck putting a chest behind the harvester and pulling out of that instead - the harvester looks for an inventory to pass in and not all of the pipes get detected as one correctly. I haven't had that problem with the carrots before - did you remember to put a block of water in the middle? (one block directly over the planter seemed to work best for me with a relatively small 'farm')
  24. You know how there's two sides of that window, a list at the top and a list at the bottom? The one at the bottom is what they were calling "System" (it's the bit based in HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE), the bit at the top is what they were calling "Local" (based on HKEY_CURRENT_USER instead). If it's not on the page at all then that's actually good. If you'd post logs on the tracker after following the tracker guidelines rather than pushing the point here which is at the >very least frowned upon then I'd actually be able to tell you for sure.
  25. Please post your logs up on the tracker after reading the tracker rules and guidelines and I'm fairly sure someone will try to help you. You should make sure you've got the latest 64-bit version of java from here if you can run it and set the allocated RAM up to somewhere from 1.5GB to 3GB first, though (if you can't then again, it's best to post on the tracker).
