  1. That's really unusual - there's two gears, one in the top right, by the close button - this one has settings for the launcher (RAM etc), and one on the left underneath the icons for the modpack with those options in it. If your launcher does not have that, please post a screenshot of it up on the tracker in the section for the launcher, it's something really unusual.
  2. I dunno for gameplay, that really comes down to what you feel like and the things you like. Expansions from flans mod (guns, planes, spaceships) can be fun and they're just a matter of dropping into the flans mod folder too, witchery is still new and developing rapidly, so it's becoming a more and more fully featured magic option as time goes on. There's a good tool for resolving itemID conflicts automatically but I can't remember what it's called off the top of my head (Kalbintion will know - if he sees this I'm sure he'll tell us). For server operation though I would suggest MCPC+ for its lag-reducing effects (like combining dropped items into stacks) and also so you can run bukkit plugins (worldprotect, essentials etc.). Some people swear by ClearLagg too, but I don't find that it makes much of a difference and it can be a little dangerous for my liking for something I don't think is especially necessary (it both has the power and is designed to remove things from the world), my server is small, about a dozen people on regularly, so it may be more effective on large servers or on servers with more transient populations, I don't know.
  3. You'll probably have a lot more luck in this forum: http://forums.technicpack.net/forum/75-attack-of-the-b-team-servers/
  4. Not sure the tracker is the right place to be putting stuff on adding in mods, it's more for fixing problems than stuff like that, so I guess asking here is fine (if a mod could correct this if I'm wrong I'd be grateful, though, really not certain). PMing me is fine but usually way slower than this forum. Just ask here unless someone tells us otherwise (it's useful to other people in future that way, too). As for trolling/flaming, let me tell you a little story about how I see it working here (this is my own opinion, it's exaggerated and maybe completely wrong, reader discretion is advised); Think of the technic forums as a group of apocalypse survivors, outside these thick walls is the deep dark internet, full of horrors... anyone is welcome to come here for sanctuary, and if they show up asking for help and seem to realize they're asking for a favour the forums will go out of their way to help the newcomers. Sometimes, they'll even offer insightful advice that clearly comes from a higher power (because it's not rooted in any kind of logic) with statements like "lol noob get a mac/pc, throw away that trash mac/pc", but such seers can be safely ignored. Never forget though that a society like this one, nay, a community like this one, will pull together in times of difficulty - those who come through the walls of the forums and make demands, insist on getting helped as if they 'deserve' the time of the volunteers for some reason, oh, those poor people don't know what they've brought upon themselves.
  5. There's not really a recommended processor speed, it's too variable anyway (there's plenty of modern dual core 1.7GHz machines that are faster than older dual core 4.0GHz+ machines so the indication through that is kinda pointless). You can check if you personally have enough by either using /cofh tps in minecraft (to see if minecraft is processing every tick completely, should be 20 per second), or leaving windows task manager open (the performance tab shows your current CPU usage, simply turn the speed of updates on that panel down, play minecraft, quit, then check it to see if it was using all of the CPU power while running). Java needs the 64-bit version to allocate more than 1GB RAM, get the latest one here - it doesn't automatically grab the 64-bit one; https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
  6. More RAM (turn up the allocated amount using the cog in the top right of the launcher - it's 1GB by default and needs to be set somewhere from 1.5GB to 3GB for good results).
  7. It shows non-vanilla blocks as 'unknown' pink/purple blocks, they work the same way (you can remove or replace them just fine). Is that not what you mean?
  8. I'm not sure that BoP redwoods actually grow - they were bugged a while back and I don't know if they fixed it. They only need a single sapling. Natura redwoods need a 7x7 square.
  9. Please post up a log on the tracker, guides on how to get logs and how to post on the tracker are in my sig.
  10. Looks like you haven't added portal gun, and instead you've added a second copy of iChun's Utils (there's already a version in the modpack, so you literally just add the portal gun mod zip file). You need to get back to clean - remove that ichun utilities file you added (the one with the version number is the one you want to keep), then; 1: Download PortalGun2.0.2.zip 2: Put PortalGun2.0.2.zip in %AppData%.technicmodpacksattack-of-the-bteammods 3: Play the game If you have further problems, please post them up on the tracker rather than here (links are in my sig) and just mention that you're running on a modded version of B-team. Edit: With the other mods, make sure you've tried the modern equivalents first - autofarming is done by the minefactory reloaded planter and harvester, solar panels are done by galacticraft (the entire power system is reworked so it's not an exponential progression like tekkit), dimension doors can be pretty much replaced by enhanced portals (except for the loads of worlds it makes on the server if people explore, but I'm glad for that). The mods you are thinking of are IC2 and Buildcraft, but I'm not sure there's a version of those for minecraft 1.6.4.
  11. The witchery mod counters witchery pretty well, it'll get even better in the next version too (witch hunters gear and weapons). Why do you keep saying it's overpowered? Someone who's spent their time on advanced genetics is going to absolutely cane a witch in PvP (the witch may be able to run away, but not much else, and even that's lucky). The same goes for most mods - if you spend your time in just about anything except witchery, it'll mean you get more powerful faster - it just adds on to other strategies well, that's all.
  12. Don't forget the biofuel generator for the compression dynamos - it's really efficient early game as it's possible to use the biomesoplenty trees and doesn't need obsidian (with the cheap tanks in TE). Just turn it off until it's loaded, then let it run until it's out, then off again. Automating it later is maybe worth the time, but you usually can move onto better systems by the time you can do it easily. Quarries are kinda covered by minions - I think it's the same reasoning as the pumps, though (it's fun to mine with the hammer, gotta be honest )
  13. I haven't used the P|R backpacks much recently - the tinkers one and my inventory have been enough but if I'd moved I'd have done the exact same thing. I'll ask around too, I know a bunch of people who do use a lot of them (one in particular doesn't have much in the way of storage other than a dozen of the things in every colour) so hopefully someone knows something and I can check the logs if they lost some items at some point. I'll try some tests to replicate it too, and I'll let you know if I come up with anything.
  14. It definitely wasn't a case of too many items on the ground at the same time? We're not talking DSUs here right - just chests, and you didn't break them all at once? Sorry if my line of questioning doesn't seem immediately helpful - I'm hoping it will be when I can work out what caused the item loss (that might point me towards a situation I can replicate with a known inventory and then I can look to see if there's any logs or anything to at least indicate what was despawned). There are still some oddities with the P|R backpacks, but this is far worse than anything I've seen with them before.
  15. I read somewhere that the exclusion of a pump or pump-like item was an active decision to keep players from replacing themselves, like they do in tekkit (I must admit I have a tendency to 'build myself out of the game' and pretty much make myself obsolete, standing around and watching resources flowing around or building structures as if I was in creative). There's inventive solutions like using the player interface to pull buckets of things out of your quickbar, and more options than just 'nether lava pump' being used for power, so I'd say it's worked
  16. jjj, make sure you're using the right type - there's an openblocks liquidXP, a LXP liquidXP and an MFR mob essence - if you're using the XP drain, try using the LXP absorber instead (or viceversa). If that doesn't help, please post up a screenshot of what you're trying (you should probably make a new thread here though in that case as it's probably just a setup issue rather than a common problem). Edit: Just realised you said auto-enchanter not LXP enchanter, auto-enchanter is the MFR version so you'll need mob essence. You can use an XP shower (to get xp out of the lxp tank) along with a sewer underneath to catch the xp orbs (to get xp into another tank as mob essence you can use in the auto-enchanter). Ember, try pressing the "O" (letter oh not number zero) key, that toggles the display for NEI.
  17. I've never seen anything like this problem - can you describe what you did exactly, what you had and what you used to carry the stuff, and when you noticed the stuff was missing so I can try to replicate it?
  18. Don't forget they did the worldgen on an older version - you'll likely have to go back to version 1.0.7 or even earlier and generate the area, then update from there.
  19. Not dumb, it's not theoretically impossible, it's just not ready yet - once phones catch up it'll be doable, but that'll likely be years. I'm sure you'll see stuff start to crop up once full minecraft is possible on phones, so keep an eye out for that. Smartphones don't tend to be limited the same way consoles are - consoles need to be primarily graphically powerful and cheap, so they tend to have a poor CPU and small quantity of RAM in exchange for a fast GPU and fast RAM. Phones are limited more by what's economical to run in terms of battery life or total power draw (most phones can run directly from USB, some even charge at the same time, which means their actual power usage is less than 2.5W - a very restrictive figure when you consider a budget computer can typically use 300W or more and consoles usually up to 250W though they've got a higher rated PSU in them to improve reliability and longevity).
  20. I wouldn't worry too much about it - you didn't mean any harm, the mods here seem really quite tolerant in those circumstances (they're really not mean people). It might be better to do that kinda thing by PM but you did mention specifically what it was that you found useful specific to B-Team so I really don't think there's any issue at all. You'll have to wait for a mod for the final word on that, though, it's always up to them.
  21. How would it not make a difference? To kill a slime takes 3-4 hits with that sword - an upgraded TC one can do over 20 hearts in a hit, so it'd work 3-4 times faster (it one-shots things). It doesn't activate faster, just has more of an effect when it does activate (much more).
  22. Exactly MC, you've got it. Some people seem to be ok for some time, others are probably ok forever (they'd never post up on the tracker so I wouldn't see them), others have faults within days - it probably depends on where the chunk data is stored in the file what effect an overflow has. Months is an exaggeration though, before 1.0.9c (not quite two months yet) the GC wires didn't even transfer power at all in most cases - the fix for that is what's caused this over-aggressive passing on of power you're seeing now. So long as the infinite power feeds into an energy cell bank then comes out of the cells as normal TE conduits they should be limited to normal maximums so should stop more than that one chunk from corrupting - in theory. Sometimes the corruption doesn't happen in the same world - that doesn't make sense to me and I haven't been able to replicate it, but it does seem to be the case for some people - I've seen examples where people have had huge chunks missing out of space stations and things like that (they do tend to be missing rather than garbled when this happens though, so perhaps it's something else). Epic, you're in fact using this bug, yes. I help a lot on the tracker, this is a semi-common problem, and I'm just trying to make people aware in advance as there's not any going back unless you have a backup - it's a pretty well known among regulars on the tracker but if people don't follow it (most people would have no reason to, it's not that exciting) then they might not know, that's all. Think of it like this; It's not magic - it's not generating 250 times more than it should be in a legitimate way, it's a bug - if you're willing to exploit it to cheat then you'd be better served just using the creative energy cell. If it's not your server and you can't do that, then you're risking corruption of someone else's server by exploiting a bug to cheat. If that's not bannable on your server I'd be surprised. If it corrupts everything around your base, it's not that I don't want to help you or punish you for it or anything later on the tracker - it's that there's nothing anyone can do if you don't have a backup, that's all. No hard feelings or anything like that - that's what I want to avoid because some people have lost a lot of work and are understandably unhappy. Shooting the messenger doesn't help
  23. Remember to turn that back to false once you've used it though, occassionally things can error once then be fine, so you don't want the game removing things at the first sign of an issue (wait until there's actually an issue then change the setting).
  24. Right, I see - that's not likely to be possible for some time, remember that the pocket edition isn't even full minecraft - the XBox One and PS4 are barely at the point where they'll be able to run a normal uncut version of minecraft, so you'd need a cellphone that's about as powerful as one of those. Once phones exceed the power of the Xbox 360 and PS3 then this kind of thing might be possible, but not until then I'm afraid (at present, they're a bit ahead of the PS2 in some ways and behind in others).
  25. What size of upgrade are you putting in? Putting in an upgrade doesn't make it run faster, just cover a larger area - so a standard 3x3 will complete its pass after only checking 9 squares, a 10x10 will have to check 100 squares (the unmodified version will have checked its 3x3 area over 11 times in the same amount of time). You may just have to wait long enough for it to reach the appropriate area. If in doubt, plant a straight line of oak trees from one side to another leading from the harvester straight out - bonemeal the oak trees until you have a solid wall. You'll be able to see its progress every time it crosses this line so you can see it work. Check the planter itself to make sure it's actually running down its idle timer - if it's getting a redstone signal it'll stop and hold until the signal disappears. If that doesn't help, please put up a screenshot.
