First off.. what's the point in this kind of thing? It doesn't make you look clever, just ignorant of the issues faced by MacOS ('old' versions) and Linux (openJDK for some people). Secondly, please post up on the tracker with your logs and people will try to help - you want the launcher tracker, and a link to the rules and guidelines on what and how to post there can be found in my sig.

Ooh... Now... to max out that laser you'll need to reach an output of 20K RF I just clicked that you can use the laser to provide you resources... on a space station! You can now 'move out' of your server completely if you like Efficiency is a subjective term - you may be able to make more materials the old fashioned way, but when you don't really need them anyway it seems like a nuisance and a waste of time when you have to go out and get stuff specifically. The efficiency here is obvious in the cost of the players time once it's set up - it doesn't take any. Your other question about the portal - simply set up two with dimensional upgrades, give them a matching network, then light one of them with an enhancedPortals flint and steel. They won't shut down automatically when started that way.

That's the crux of it right there - all the mods in this pack need to have version 1.7 variants, and they don't - until they do there's nothing the guys here can do.

Out of curiosity, with the solar panels, do you only need the 'core/base' part in a chunk for it to load, or do you need the whole panel to be inside? edit: Just tested, looks like it doesn't matter if the outside of the panel is outside of the loaded chunk.

Holy... Poisonfrog you've done it again - I have to admit, this demonstrates a PvP strategy I'd never have considered, make your potential opponents so dubious about your sanity and available time that they just wouldn't risk conflict. I never thought 'terrifying' would be a word I'd use to describe a carpenters block spiral! How long did that roughly take in SMP?

Sure, here's the little one from my castle base (I have a little bit of everything in there so everything is simple and miniaturized, they make good examples ) It's using sugar as a reactant which I would not advise for any real power usage - I've been meaning to get around to replacing it with blazes and use blaze powder instead but I barely use power here as is so it's hard to justify the time setting it up (always the issue with having multiple bases I suppose).

Which is really easy to get - an intersection where flowing energised glowstone touches flowing gelid cryotheum condenses the glowstone back into a solid block of glowstone that can then be broken by a block breaker to get an infinite, no power use source of glowstone - you just need to melt it down in a magma crucible (but you'll get a lot more power back than that costs).

I agree with Turgle - if you know exactly what to get right from the start then it might be ok with conventional ores, but this pack isn't balanced very well (and honestly it isn't intended to be) so it could be hugely frustrating to waste resources on things if they're precious, just to find you've already got something that works and was cheaper or better - the abundance of ores takes the sting out of a lot of that and encourages play in a certain way - construction and testing of strange and wonderous machinery. To disable morph, simply remove the .JAR file from the mods directory (this will stop you from being able to join servers with it on though).
-
Unfortunately, that would stop working as soon as the autonomous activator couldn't reach lava anymore (very quickly).
-
It doesn't really update, it puts in multiple versions, simply remove any versions you don't want and programs that use java will use whatever version they think is most appropriate then (usually defaults to 32/64 bit preference then the highest version).
-
Java 8 isn't a recommended version of Java yet, and it has various issues - it's intended in its current form for use by developers, and is generally stable with a few compatibility issues. You should remove 8 use Java 7 until Java 8 is ready enough to be a recommended build, it works for some people with B-Team but some have issues (this may include you, so you might as well try 7 before anything else). If you still have problems after that, please post a log up on the tracker - links can be found in my sig to help you.

You have to be kidding - there's a lot of useful info >here, and you should really consider reading >here too for more info on that question.
-
It's not a matter of waiting for a server restart, it just looks like it broke clientside - relogging on the client fixes it (perhaps even going far enough away and coming back would work).

I'm sure this is a reasonable request if you're intending to pay the developers. Are you intending to pay for the developers? If you consider for a minute that the main reason they're working on this is because they want to and they're sharing it with everyone because they're being nice. They're paying for you to be able to play and provide a tool for installation and updates (which took time to write) and paying for your bandwidth costs when you download from them, all to make it easier for you. They provide even the latest twitchy version if people want to play with it, but they won't call it recommended if it's not ready to be called recommended (this saves many people like me a lot of trouble we'd get from something not being ready, I don't need to pay nearly so much attention because they've got it sorted). I know you're not trying to appear ungrateful, but think about what you're saying here; The B-Team work with the Technic pack guys to make this stuff available for you to play with (and it is available, just not recommended). Much bigger groups that should be able to afford it more easily don't bother with that, it's an exceptional interaction with their community. The Technic pack guys develop and distribute these packs for free - this must be expensive even just for the bandwidth. The cost in time for the people working on it is time they could be spending doing contracts for actual money - they're choosing to spend it here, for you. This is no different in effect from spending even more money, for you. The reason not asking about it is policy is probably because of how demoralizing it can be - I don't and have never worked in this team, but in similar situations I've seen similar questions or demands and believe me - when you're doing this for a community because you like them, they like you, it's all "happy fun times" and you get a bunch of guys showing up who make it not fun by making demands on your already stretched time it's really hard to keep bothering (remember you're usually working to be able to pay for all this stuff you're giving away, this is what you do in your free time). My first reaction when seeing something like this is something along the lines of "Ugh.. you entitled little-" (I'm not saying this about you, I didn't think your post was that bad, but some can be awful and I'm trying to help you understand how another persons mindset might go from the other side of the dev process). Now you've read all that you should be able to see what it sounds like and how it comes across - if anyone owes anyone anything, it's you that owes the Technic guys, both for their time and their money. Your statement can translate to something like "Thanks for the free stuff, but you should give me more free stuff sooner please", which is a little ridiculous sounding when you look at it like that. Hostility that you see from other forum members when asking about this kind of thing is based around that - if you upset the devs to the point they decide to take a week off or something then you've slowed it down, making things worse for everyone - the devs both who are working with heavier loads now, the devs who are taking a break and may even drop the project altogether if you really struck a nerve, the players who have longer to wait - everyone in the community can suffer for a comment like that, so even if there isn't a rule specifically disallowing it (which, as it was pointed out, there is), it's still a dick thing to do. Sorry to rant about this here, but if even one person understands a little better because of this it'll have been worth it.

This mod pack doesn't have that mod, mm75. Munaus' answer remains the most correct.
-
Seconded - that's a very new feature of the mod and it's still a little twitchy, use the tool forge instead to minimize the chance of problems (it's pretty rock-solid from there).

Use seared faucets, not casting channels.

Most common issues and fixes! And known problems
Loader replied to arriej's topic in Attack of the B-Team
Awesomebynature, this isn't the tracker, but it is a common fix mentioned in this thread a few times. For other browsers (and you); If the launcher loads when you click play, then immediately drops you out of minecraft back into the launcher, do this first; For Windows: Update Java 64-bit if you have a 64-bit OS, if you're not sure, try it (there's no harm, a 32-bit OS simply won't run it). You can get those downloads here; https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp For MacOS X: You need the JDK rather than the JRE as the JRE only updates Java links for your browser. You can get that download here; http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7-downloads-1880260.html Note: If you're on MacOS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or older then neither Apple nor Oracle officially support you for Java 1.7+. It's possible to force an install using a package manager like Pacifist but your best bet is to upgrade to the latest MacOS version if you can - it's free for most MacOS users. -
Plz put this mod into attack of the b team
Loader replied to Enderwitch's topic in Attack of the B-Team
Pumping lava from the nether, using what? You'd need to be there to bucket into tanks. For other stuff you can use the poppet shelf from witchery, that keeps the chunk its in loaded. -
Possible bug with advanced solar panels and Thermal Expansion?
Loader replied to PhoenixSmith's topic in Attack of the B-Team
It's a bug in galacticraft or the UE extensions it uses, it'll no doubt be fixed by them soon (they were rushing a fix because a lot of things weren't transferring power at all so that's probably why this happened). I don't think there's anything the devs here can do about it, unfortunately. -
That's fine for PvP that happens unexpectedly in the wild - the biggest issue is the other ways a witch specifically can mess with you and their ability to avoid that exact situation with ease if they want (otherwhere infusion with a circle talisman and waystone prepared mean they can teleport past you somewhere hard to spot, set up a circle and leave before you can find them again). If you haven't tried guns in PvP flying combat, you should (something not too inaccurate that does passable damage, the semi-auto assault rifles), simply don't let the other player get close enough to you - it shouldn't matter how much damage their sword does as even if you only hit them a few times before you screw up and they close in on you you're able to switch to your own sword with an advantage (although at the moment in B-Team it's mostly down to who has more hearts because of how crazy that can go). If you chase them in a straight line you get hit by the wands slow spell, if you move on an angle to avoid it you can't even keep up, let alone catch up (unless they're bad with the wand, they slow down while casting - but the slow spell is a ridiculously easy flick). You're talking about a player who is generally powerful, they've got good morphs, they've got a bunch of useful genes, they also happen to do some witchery so has death poppets. I'd kind of assumed the issue here is a player who's not primarily a PvP powerhouse but uses voodoo dolls or curses, more a witch being a nuisance than a murderous PvPer. None of those suggestions help at all if they're cursing you left and right, throwing you around with a voodoo doll and not doing much else - you may never even see them in person at all. They can be really dangerous if they decide to teleport you to them and use traps (you're very rarely prepared for suddenly being teleported to a room in some pit in the middle of nowhere on the moon where the witch drops gravel ore on you as soon as you spawn - the witch leaves via another circle and never actually fights you directly). Edit: I'm waffling a bit - but what I'm trying to say is that there's a very passive aggressive side to witchery, not as powerful as regular aggressive, but still dangerous and very annoying. You really do need witchery to protect yourself from that. It allows players who otherwise hate PvP to get involved and make a nuisance of themselves.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but sometimes with creepers you'll die without dropping a gravestone at all

Or zombie-slimes or Pika-Squirtles Even cowpigs!

Wouldn't you say rapier was better for PvP, DS, or are there armours available in this that negate that whole 'ignore armour' ability it has? Also, do you think the slower attack-rate of the cleaver makes it still worth it to use in general against mobs (if you're not head farming)? Given the amount of damage boost you get from sharpness it seems like the faster swing speed would make a difference for DPS, but I know you've actually tried a bunch of this stuff in PvP on BTeam recently so I'd like to hear your opinion on that.

It was related to his post that I quoted, the "wierd purple mobs" that you find scattered around with the pokemon looking mobs, you can breed them with each other or any of those pokemonesque ones using wheat to create hybrids - there's a random factor but they take most of their 'gene' information from their parents (so two 'purple mobs' will usually make a near identical third purple mob). If you haven't tried breeding those things together yet you really should You can get them with traits anything from attacking enemies to attacking you or burning in sunlight or water and even change what/how much item they drop when killed (through many generations).
