For the price point, for Minecraft, it'd do ok. -

Looks nice, an i7 with an SSD. Maybe add some RAM afterwards. -
Run it really hot. No coolant. It will burn through yellorium. I assume you are using the last 1.6.4 build of BR. Cyanite can be crafted in with sand, not sure if that's for 1.6.4.

Smallish SSD drives have really come down. I need to grab one and compare.

Ditch the plating too, if you are using it. Go with energy shields only. Big weight saver.
-
You may have to go into the key mapping and assign a key to activate the boots / jetpack. Weight of the suit is a factor too. Too heavy and you won't get off the ground. And carry a charged energy cell with you. The suit can draw off it for juice. Simply Jetpacks are really nice too. The upper tier ones are quite speedy.

It's one of the function keys, F9 maybe? Makes me nauseous. If not F9, maybe F8 or F10. Whichever it is, toggles it on and off.

Reactors are fun. And Applied Energistics is a must. Make a factory that auto-processes all ores. Lots you can do.

FAQ New here? Welcome to planet Tekkit!
AetherPirate replied to Curunir's topic in Tekkit Discussion
On the launcher, hit the Modpack tab, and browse the packs that others have made. I bet someone has already made one that you'd like. The most popular ones tend to be the best maintained.- 67 replies

I had that exact issue with optifine. Remove it and see if it goes away.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll apply those fixes.

Trying to add Flans and one content pack to a forge server. Added the Flans jar to the server, started it, and it created the Flan folder. I stopped it, added the content pack I wanted (moden warfare) to it (and its dependency), and restarted it. Starts fine. I then added the flans jar to my client modpack, and created a Flan folder, and added the same content pack there too, zipped it and uploaded to dropbox. I incremented the version number in tekkit. It downloaded fine and updated my client. When I join my server in creative and try to place anything in Flans, it crashes both client and server. Logs link below. When I try to place in single player mode, it works fine. Cool, good to know.

Doesn't it have to authenticate to Mojang servers when you login? Maybe there's a cracked work-around, but I doubt you'll find help here if that's the only solution. I think your machine has to have internet to do this legitimately.

Modpack stops when downloading strange file...

This happened to me yesterday too. I re-downloaded the launcher and it worked. -
Your time and efforts are appreciated. Thanks for the update.

Looks like you are running Java 8. Downgrade to 7 and try it.

Check your java. Need 64 bit to access more RAM.

http://mirror.technicpack.net/Technic/servers/tekkitmain/Tekkit_Server_v1.2.9e.zip Its a 1.6.4 modpack, if you add to it, you'll have to bear that in mind.

I don't know if or when, and asking is frowned upon. Hard to say if worlds will carry over, I'd strongly guess not. There are lots custom servers here with all the new 1.7.10 mods, have a look, or there are awesome guides here to help you roll your own.

Tekkit has AE 1

I got my start there, watched a couple instructional videos, and have a working pack.
