  1. Check out Big Reactors then, Cunrir has a stickied thread about how to get started. Google for Direwolf20's tutorial about it too. You will need to feed it yellorite ingots, but an efficient reactor gives a LOT of power for very little input.
  2. I don't think the 1.6.4 version of MFR has a block that makes steam. You'd need to rely on some other mod for that. I forget if tekkit has railcraft, if it does, search there. Otherwise Big Reactors can make steam, but you'd be far better off using BR turbines instead if you go that path. Wait, what about TE steam dynamo? It's been awhile since I've played tekkit, take a look.
  3. TE Fluid pipes with a servo should be able to pipe steam into it from boiler, have you tried that?
  4. Ah ok. Looks like he pumping in water from an Aqueous Accumulator. The wiki says you need to pipe steam into it.
  5. Not sure what I'm looking at there. Are you referring to the Big Reactor turbines, or something else?
  6. I loaded your pack and was able play in a single player world too. When you were done reloading your operating system, drivers, Java, and technic, did you install anything else that could interfere? Antivirus?
  7. Could you pastebin the full log and provide the download API link for your pack?
  8. What modpack have you tried? Are you sure it's using the Nvidia card?
  9. How much ram are you allocating to the launcher?
  10. Going past 3-4GB is not advised. You're probably laggy for other reasons. Share some details about your pack.
  11. Age: 42 Country: USA I'd like to join a casual group that like to build and occasionally chat. No drama or tweeenage shenanigans. I have experience with the major tech mods, love making factories. My intro to to modded minecraft was Tekkit. I don't have a microphone. I would prefer to stick to chat only. I just play Minecraft when I have time. I've never tried Marmite. I love steampunk music, enjoy attending cons. One, but it is long, poorly marked, and doubles back on itself now and then. I'd pick one big duck. Then I'd run like hell. Looking forward to learning a bit more artistry from experienced builders.
  12. Dimensional doors is the culprit. Make a backup, and remove that mod. It's a known trouble maker.
  13. Take the coolant port(s) out. Coolant ports turn it into an actively cooled reactor that makes steam, not RF. Unless you've also made turbines, you don't want to do that.
  14. Above 3GB or so is counter-productive. Are you running it with a texture pack? If so, remove it. Try running it with the console window open. Maybe it'll tell you what it is hanging up on.
  15. Use TE conduits for TE stuff. Ducts with servos will do well instead of the buildcraft pipes. There's a stickied thread around here by Cunrir that will get you on your way with Tekkit 1.6.4.
  16. Runs fine on mine as well. Have you tried a fresh world?
  17. Attachments aren't working, you'll need to pastebin.
  18. Tekkit has been 1.6.4 for quite some time. You'd be better off rolling your own 1.8 modpack. You'd need to check and see if the mods you are interested in have 1.8 versions first.
  19. Try TE ducts with servos , I know they work. Never tried it with buildcraft pipes.
  20. How much ram have you allocated to Java in the tekkit launcher settings? iIf you're below 3GB, bump it up to that. Don't go crazy high, it's counter productive. If this isn't your issue, add the appropriate version of Fastcraft.
  21. You'll need to pastebin the log. Attachments are broken.
  22. Username is AetherPirate Name: John I'd like a server with a long term map, casual adult players (no screaming tweens), and no griefing. Just friendly people who jump on occasionally after work to play. I usually play solo, but enjoy seeing what other people are up to, chatting sometimes, and helping when I can. I've been playing exclusively with the major tech mods, but branching out into magic sounds fun too. I mostly enjoy building. I guess Minecraft is my hobby. Here's an example of a base I've been working on: http://imgur.com/fPPQEGh http://imgur.com/BzMA9Rs A mining drill complex: http://imgur.com/EFKUEJx Hope to see others' work, and learn a bit more artistry. All my stuff becomes factories. Question: Are you allowed one chunkloader at your base to keep things going while you are away?
