xxmikegigsxx Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 It's how many of us Brits view the heartland states of 'Murica. God and McCarthyism, the dream team of American politics. We actually prefer the spelling Merica or Emerica as this Google images search demonstrates.
miniboxer Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 here is one of the more entertaining ones I found from that search:
Jay? Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 The reason so many of us can't tell the satire websites from the real ones is that we work or live in big cities, and have very very similar things thrown in our faces every day.
JOHN. Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 They are entirely aware. The general viewer (yourself incuded) believes otherwise. That's the beauty of it. It's so spurious, yet utterly convincing. Ah, just googled it, I love how convincing it is, yet now feel somewhat stupid for posting the op :/
inittowinitall Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 it's kinda depressing how many people in this thread thought that christwire was a serious site, and not obvious satire. I was hoping it was satirical and not factual, but I have experienced the real people who do this stuff and that seemed pretty serious. Maybe I should just take all of these as jokes from now on. hoho Be careful with what you wish for. it's well known that easiest way to become an atheist is to actually read the Bible and thinking along while doing so. It should be encouraged to think about the Bible in critical fashion. It helps prevent people making blind assumptions about what the Bible says.
Jay? Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 It should be encouraged to think about the Bible in critical fashion. It helps prevent people making blind assumptions about what the Bible says. It should be encouraged to think about ALL things in a critical fashion. It helps protect the world around you from faulty assumptions.
Kingfisher1112 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 On christwire there is a page about ME3's ending being about orcs raping elves.
Jay? Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Yeah, that sounds very much like what the guy with the jesus sign across the street said about the harry potter books, except he was convinced that it was full of copious gay underage sex, and drugs.
Ashzification Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 it's kinda depressing how many people in this thread thought that christwire was a serious site, and not obvious satire. I just find it entertaining :)
xxmikegigsxx Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Since this seems to be the hub for fantastical hoaxes I think it is the appropriate place to share some shocking news. The moon doesn't exist. Read it here http://www.revisionism.nl/Moon/The-Mad-Revisionist.htm that is complete facts so I don't think anyone will ever claim that cash prize.
freakachu Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 if that's where we're going, no one can forget the time cube
MephistosChan Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 if that's where we're going, no one can forget the time cube I don't even understand how he could make this up as a joke (maybe its an American thing that doesn't translate well into English). Really difficult to read that wall of text against the white background so I can't even judge if it's a comedy put up. I really hope it is.
The_DarthMoogle Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Nope, the time cube is a genuine, but consistently poorly explained theory. It's so difficult to disprove as well, because of the incredible amount of pseudoscience involved. The creators are also so stupid, no one has managed to get them to pick their own theory apart.
MephistosChan Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 That must be the ultimate conspiracy theory, the illuminati is dicking us out of 75% of our days. BASTARDS
The_DarthMoogle Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Just wasted an hour over at the Rational Wiki. Still doesn't beat my 3 hours over at TVTropes.
The_DarthMoogle Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Does anyone want me to disprove Time Cube for them? I think I might have done it...
gotyaoi Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 My god. That page was so long it broke the tiled background. Couldn't tell what the actual content was due to what I can only assume/hope is English as a second language.
