    Yes please, it's worth taking a look to see if there's incompatibilities that may be to do with the update.

      Yes, this has been changed in TE, apparently it was unintended behaviour - back to infinite mob grinding for me.

    Now I have to wonder, can they see you loader?
    Do they see a thread with a couple like minded server seekers and one loony talking to himself about super powers? Or is it just a pristine thread to them?

    Hey, everyone,

    Attack of the B-Team 1.0.12a is now promoted to latest! I promise that I am gonna stay on top of this one and promote it to rec, assuming nothing serious is wrong.

    If you're interested in helping test, back up your worlds (SSP or server) and set your launcher up to use the "Latest" build, or manually select version 1.0.12a. Play with us and report issues in this thread!

    The 1.0.12a server can be downloaded here: mirror.technicpack.net/Technic/servers/bteam/BTeam_Server_v1.0.12a.zip

    Changelog for Attack of the B-Team 1.0.12a; this is a list of all changes since 1.0.11a:

    - Village spawns have been disabled in order to bypass a chunk-corruption issue with Biomes o' Plenty.
    - OpenEye version 0.6 has been added.
    - Not Enough Codecs version 0.1 has been added. This should fix most radio stations in Open Blocks.
    - World of Dinos has been updated to version 1.1. Dinos should no longer crowd out Tropicraft spawns.
    - MineFactory Reloaded has been updated to version 2.7.9.
    - Galacticraft, Planets, and MicDoodleCore have been updated to version 2.0.13.1063.
    - Carpenter's Blocks have been updated to version 2.1.0.
    - Mr. Crayfish's Furniture Mod has been updated to version 3.3.3.
    - Advanced Genetics has been updated to version 1.4.3.
    - Hats has been updated to version 2.1.8.
    - Thermal Expansion has been updated to version 3.0.0.7.
    - Tinkers Construct has been updated to version 1.5.5.7.
    - Sync has been updated to version 2.2.2.
    - Witchery has been updated to version 0.19.2.
    - Open Mods Lib has been updated to version 0.5.1.
    - Open Blocks has been updated to version 1.2.9.
    - Better Storage has been updated to version 0.8.0.47.

    Not seen that before. I've seen crashes with morph, but never anything so extreme - if you've got logs please put them up on the tracker so the devs here can have a chance of looking at it.

    Loader got a reaction from mikulous in I have a server Crash for you doods
    65535 (FF FF in hex) is the highest port number available and you've picked one higher than that (74256 or 01 22 10 in hex - you don't have those extra bytes that you need to store that number).  Remember if you change it from minecrafts default then the other players will either have to specify the port number when connecting or you'll need to port forward from incoming 25565 requests to whatever you have on your server.

    This kind of question is usually for the issue tracker, please post this kind of thing there in the future.  There's guides and links to relevant stuff in my sig.

    The most likely culprit is not having enough RAM assigned, the second most likely is having too much RAM assigned.  It's in here;

    Set the value to somewhere from 1.5GB to 3GB (depends on the machine, less RAM is faster but less stable as a general rule with minecraft weirdly), you might need another 1GB if you use a high res texture pack.

    I don't know why it would change for everyone, that doesn't make a lot of sense.  Can you get the server op to chat here if that's the case, see if there's anything they did?

    Loader got a reaction from Kalbintion in Wires?
    That's fine, just be careful wherever those links are near TE stuff.  The GC stuff doesn't have a problem.  The issue occurs when you have wires near any thermalexpansion block - it doesn't have to appear to be connected, it can draw and supply power just the same as long as it's next to the block which is why you have to be careful.  Here's the simplest example I can make;

    That's an energy cell on top of a steam engine, on top of an aqueous accumulator, with the little GC wires on the side.  The process goes like this;
    The steam engine generates power - power is passed through the top in the normal way, but the wire on the side also draws power (it does this simultaneously which is the start of the chain reaction). The wire on the side draws all of the power from the TE machine, then passes it in again (starting the exponential).  The engine passes as much as it can into the energy cell (it generates at 80RF/t, but can transfer power much faster). The wire increases power exponentially until it hits its maximum allowed transfer cap. Everything runs at maximum limits until they fill up all the outputs (energy cells, engines etc). The wire continues to generate power exponentially as it takes the power from the TE machine before putting it back in.  It'll eventually hit an impossible to record number so long as the generator is running (sometimes it can be self-sustaining but I haven't worked out why that is).  When the information is too large to be stored that doesn't stop it from trying to store it and that's what causes the corruption (it writes data in places it shouldn't be in the chunk file). The output on the side of the energy cell and the top bit of wire was just me messing around to confirm some things, you can actually do this with just the one tiny bit of wire on the lower level and an input on the bottom of the cell.  Hopefully that shows you where the problem is?  Don't mix GC and TE outputs - TE stuff should have only one power output - that's how you can be safe (one wire on top would've been fine).

    If it's worldgen then bukkit plugins like worldborder can help, it'd need MCPC+ but I'd probably suggest installing that anyway even if you didn't want plugins (it does some basic lag-reduction stuff like grouping similar ground items into stacks and things so there are less entities around, great if you've got hammer tunnellers leaving cobble drops all over the place).

    I'd congratulate you on your 1400th post plowmanplow if it wasn't overshadowed by an even greater achievement - managing to make it this far without a mod messing with your forum title!  Congrats on that!

    A mac, huh?  Well then in your case then the bad login is related to your login session with minecraft itself that expired, run the launcher, log out (bottom right) and re-log in. If you continue to have issues, post on the tracker.

    Loader got a reaction from BrowserXL in Server 1.0.9c - Sudden Death of hostile mobs and problems with the chisel
    Peaceful mobs can only spawn on grass - if you're going over visited areas then there's probably mobs in caves below the surface.  If you've got OP access you can use the command /cofh killall to kill mobs nearby (it'll do hostile mobs only if they're around, then peaceful ones if there's none around, then other stuff if there's none of those around).

    If you don't have OP access you can at least press F3 for the debug screen in order to see how many entities are around (in the top left).  You should see that number go up as things spawn or down as you move out of range of them, at least it'll indicate they're around.

    Loader got a reaction from BrowserXL in Server 1.0.9c - Sudden Death of hostile mobs and problems with the chisel
    1: The server only supports a certain number of mobs at once - if there's a lot of other players or you're flying then it's unlikely you'll see them (flying they'll spawn underneath you and be behind before they show up, then you'll hit the cap so when you land there's no more spawning allowed).  MCPC+ can alleviate this a little (it clears up distant mobs a bit better but allows plugins like clearlagg that do an even better job than MCPC+ alone).  Walking should also fix this.

    2: There are several kinds of chisel - you want the one that takes 4 iron in a square shape in the top right corner with a stick in the bottom left for what you're describing (the chisel from the Chisel mod, it sounds like you're using the Carpenters Chisel from the Carpenters Blocks mod).

    Edit: Thinking of wrong pattern, corrected

    Loader got a reaction from Kalbintion in Recommended server specifications?
    That's really weird, it doesn't look like it's the CPU limiting you - you should be able to get up to nearly 50ms (not including overhead, so ~50ms from that indicator) total tick time before it starts to give you block lag.

    Is the behaviour the same without those garbage collection flags set? (-XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC) I could imagine they might cause lag spikes (parnewgc is also a bit like aggressiveopts, +UseParallelGC is safer) but I can't think of a way they could cause block lag..

    Even if the VPS provider was limiting you quietly you should be able to see the effect in minecraft (like you would in a benchmark) even if they can hide most numbers, so I can't see it being that either.

    I can't think of anything that points to it from the information so far, and I think you've provided all the relevant information (I can't think of anything to ask for that might help other than playing with those flags and seeing results from that).  I'm thinking, I will post back if I come up with anything.  Congratulations on your interesting and unusual problem.

    Quite a mod - there's more coming, too (Fetishes, Spirits and Death).

    Edit: Geez- forgot the most important thing - Thanks for doing this for the community!  You are of course welcome to ignore anything I say or cherry-pick bits but I'd rather you had the option to ignore it than no info at all
