Jorcer Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 As if MCP hasn't done that yet? See quote The decompiled source is not the same as the real source code, since a lot is lost when it is compiled than decompiled.
Grindle2000 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I would like to see minecraft redone in a decent programming language.
GreenWolf13 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I would like to see minecraft redone in a decent programming language. Blasphemy! How dare you insult the decency of Java!
crzymn777 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I would like to see minecraft redone in a decent programming language. Yeah! Parking meters use Java!
linkthegamer Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I would like to see minecraft redone in a decent programming language. No matter what you recode it it someone will say your recode should be in a better programming language. Eventually the code wars would get to the point it is in some architecture's assembly code. Yeah! Parking meters use Java! So in theory we could port Minecraft to a parking meter then? Nice.

If it weren't for the lack of opengl on parking meters, yes. This is the best use of tax dollars I've ever heard.

The only downside I see to that is the difficulty of modding. And also how (QUOTE Steve Jobs)"Fragmented" the community will be Also: 0x10c's computers are gonna be Assembly. Anyone care to port Minecraft into it?

Anyone care to port Minecraft into it? Even minecraft would get the "feature" of being specific to certain platforms. One benefit of java is it runs on most platforms: from Windows on a 64 bit computer, to OS X on a PPC based machine to Linux on the Raspberry Pi.
Smeelio Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Does this mean that Technic/Tekkit wouldn't have to be updated as much, as mods don't have to be updated to the new Minecraft version?
NightKev Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 It means the mods will update faster, which if anything will cause Technic to update faster as well.
poryy Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 If it weren't for the lack of opengl on parking meters, yes. This is the best use of tax dollars I've ever heard. Is this a meme? But it applies
Smeelio Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 It means the mods will update faster, which if anything will cause Technic to update faster as well. AND, the mod makers can work on bug fixes, adding more content, tweaking the mods to make them more efficient, re-implementing old features that were incompatible because of a major bug that would have taken too long to fix for the next update etc. instead of hurrying to update to the new version, which is also good.
Torezu Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Is this a meme? But it applies Borderline, but I've never seen the picture before, so it slides.
poryy Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Borderline, but I've never seen the picture before, so it slides. It's a picture of my cat with memeish text.
Torezu Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 It's a picture of my cat with memeish text. Memeish text =/= meme.
poryy Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Memeish text =/= meme. I meant the font lol. Notice how you see it in any other meme.

The redstone update will be 1.5 in Jan or possibly Feb (Source MCF)

danidas Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 Please don't change the obfuscation mojang. Too late they already did from what I've seen, so all the mods need to be updated again. Thankfully it looks like another quick update for the modders to upgrade their mods.
NightKev Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Hooray for pointless updates that do nothing but inconvenience modders! They sure do care, don't they?
andrewdonshik Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Hooray for pointless updates that do nothing but inconvenience modders! They sure do care, don't they? For a company that supposedly supports mods, they sure are indifferent.
ooo52 Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 stop development? no way! 1.6 is just outside the window with new and awesome ideas! (mainly horses and hard clay) also armor is important, try and fight the wither or a bunch of blazes without armor. also without armor creepers can sneak up on you and insta-kill you
Viktor_Berg Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Why'd you revive a thread that's half a year old, about an update that is about 3 months old? And no, nobody really thinks that anything in the new updates is "new and awesome" - it's been done in mods, and better, for years now.
Teraku Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 The only significant thing that's happened or going to happen in the recent updates is the modding API, which looks like it might actually get finished. It'll probably be kind of a disappointment, though. I know Mojang too well.
