How to get ~4000 charcoal in very little time
Loader replied to Turgle's topic in Attack of the B-Team
Jungle saplings can work to a degree in the meanwhile, they grow much faster but give much less wood and you need to put them in a 2x2 arrangement to get the big trees. -
Let's not get into that if we don't have to, please - it's more a matter of Andrew doesn't have the right thing installed and it's not intuitive to get the right thing installed because of politics between Apple and Oracle rather than any technical limitation. He's been rude about it, sure, and after paying the price premium to get a mac it seems strange to complain at the guys who are giving stuff away for free and don't have any say in this particular issue, but that's no reason to be rude back just for the hell of it. He probably in all seriousness just didn't know what the problem was or who to go to.

Neat. It's worth noting that it has to be netherrack in the lava crucible - most materials will take more energy to make lava than they'll give back for the lava being used in a magma dynamo. The reactant dynamo doesn't give any more power for using a better reactant item, it just lasts longer between items - so a bucket of energized glowstone and a stack of sugar will give the same total energy as a stack of nether stars, but you'll use up a bunch of sugar and the nether star will still last a bunch more buckets before it starts to use up the next one. I'd love to see one that goes through the synergies specifically in this modpack - how to use it alongside MFR with a bioreactor or grinder and mob essence.

Your oven has corrupted - it can only cook vanilla minecraft foods into vanilla minecraft items at the moment, not food+ stuff. Remove the oven here -1076,70,-1538, you may need to use MCEdit to do that if you can't get near it long enough in game. To use spoiler tags, use;

Andrew, Melfice isn't being facetious here, no-one here has the power to make apple update your java version. The issue you're having is with the Java symlinks not updating correctly in MacOS - it updates them for safari, but that's all. The JDK may work for you, so it may be worth trying that, but yelling at people this way is the equivalent of putting diesel in a petrol car then yelling at the gas station to make diesel work with your car.

Happywhell, it sounds like you've not got enough RAM allocated in the launcher, you need 1.5-3GB set. Rockzilla, this'll depend on your machine, B-Team is one of the heaviest technic packs - can you post a launcher log up on the tracker?
-
It disables itself automatically if you've got another death-chest mod like the one that adds gravestones on to prevent duping of items. I'm not sure if there's anything you can do about that, unfortunately. Even if you could turn it on now, it's too late - witchery won't have recorded that death.

Not a big deal, Minerbros, I guess the title of this thread is a little misleading (when the person wrote it they didn't know what the problem was, it turned out to be an access issue with chickencorelibs). It's getting a little long to expect people to have read through the whole thing, I guess (especially with other people doing the exact same thing and me helping them, it's my fault as much as anyones). In future though there's a tracker that makes it easier to get help here; http://forums.technicpack.net/tracker/project-4-attack-of-the-b-team/ Welcome to the forums

Looks like either a very old or unusual graphics card or not having the drivers up to date, could be damage to windows - it is WinXP they're running on so it's unlikely to be a new installation - any of those things could be it. People having this symptom (launcher opens then closes) usually need to update java in the current version.
-
Try setting it back to 1.0.9c, willem - there's only improvements and bugfixes between those versions, b should be worse in every way than c is so it's likely you just needed to reset your pack (the button for that is on the same page).
-
Which version of the mod are you using? 10.0.10 had this problem but it was fixed in 10.0.10a. You're right it's a problem with foodplus, you can change the forge settings to remove erroring blocks and entities if you've got a backup, that's probably the easiest way if you want to keep it installed (look in the forge config file for that option).
-
This is usually an archimedes ship with some non-vanilla blocks on it that throws up this error - can you post up what you think the original cause was/what people were doing when it happened on the tracker, please?
-
minecraft max, please post a log on the bug tracker (links to help are in my sig).

Try hitting F9 to bring up the chunk indicator and try placing it in the middle of one of those columns (doesn't have to be exactly, just not slicing it with the sides), if you've been very unlucky you could've had part of the smeltery loaded while another part (in a different chunk) was unloaded, breaking the smeltery and losing its contents. How did you get your java installation sorted last time, by the way? It could help other people to know.

KingTNTdcraft and Minerbros, please don't hijack other peoples threads, you're both running the wrong version of Java (if you're certain you have 1.7 installed, remove 1.6). Mericraft, if you update it will undo what you just did and I'm not sure if it's the same fix for those newer versions - the error you're getting though makes it seem likely the server isn't running the same version as you. To do the update, click the little cog on the left of the launcher, underneath the b-team menu icon, and it'll give you a bunch of options as to which version you'd like to use. Latest will give you 10.0.10a at the moment, but you can set it to manual and pick any version you like too.

It's definitely still installed, I guess the tool isn't working properly for you, here's the line again; [B#431] 2014/03/23 14:18:47 [INFO] 2014-03-23 14:18:47 [INFO] [ForgeModLoader] Java is Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM, version 1.6.0_17, running on Windows 7:amd64:6.1, installed at C:Program FilesJavajre6 To remove it yourself on win7 open the start menu and type add or remove programs, this will bring up a list of currently installed things on your computer. Type java in the search box in the top right to narrow it down and just check there's nothing else in there - if there's old versions of java showing up, remove them and let me know how it goes. If it doesn't work or you don't find any other versions, please post this up on the tracker so it can be given a proper look (links are in my sig).

Attack of the Bteam Crashes PLEASE HELP!
Loader replied to DaleAGaming's topic in Attack of the B-Team
If you're sure Java's up to date, please post your launcher logs up on the bug tracker (links are in my sig). -
Quit out of the launcher, run it again (this is usually a problem contacting minecraft.net, not to do with the pack). If it happens regularly then please post a log up on the bug tracker (links are in my sig).

If you add the item ID in microblocks.cfg then you'll be able to do this in singleplayer (but it'll break multiplayer unless the server does the same). Just copy the current style that's in there (it should just need the item ID for that I think, not the metadata).
-
Mericraft that does look like the same issue - which version are you using, 1.0.9c, 1.0.10 or 1.0.10a? I really thought ChickenBones fixed this. This post has a spoiler-tagged bit down the bottom for 1.0.9c; , but don't do it if you're not on that version, just come back and let me know what you're on (the filename of codechickenlib may be different in other versions, you can change it to match yourself if you feel confident with that).

error when starting a modpack! help!
Loader replied to dabombster3421's topic in Attack of the B-Team
What happens if you try to access that page through your browser? (this one; http://solder.technicpack.net/api/modpack/attack-of-the-bteam/1.0.10a/?cid=0db95e69-e160-4dcf-8080-e65b2b60c3aa&u=dabombster3421%5D ) Does it open, and if not what error message does it give you? -
Game keeps closing :( Attack of the B-Team keeps closing
Loader replied to Sky_Avenger's topic in Attack of the B-Team
This is typical of what happens if it runs out of memory in a certain way - turn the allocated RAM up to 1.5GB in the launcher if you can. If you don't think that's it, please post a crashlog on the tracker and we'll go through it (links are in my sig). -
Trying to join multiplayer closes the game
Loader replied to Puredarkness1's topic in Attack of the B-Team
Go to this folder; %appdata%/.technic/modpacks/attack-of-the-bteam/saves/mapwriter_mp_worlds/bt_apocgaming_org__7850 and delete mapwriter.cfg. You'll lose your waypoints, but it'll run.
