    Release the hounds of flame.

EDIT: Actually, all things considering, now I'm imagining big, flaming Minecraft dogs running at me, shitting everywhere while losing their heads.
They may, or may not, also be wearing gimp suits.

So, the Turtle, Light bulb and strap (Actually a belt for some trousers) are just randomly from the internet (As this is what I like to call an enhanced collage), but the stick and string are from a screenshot of a Team Fortress 2 item, the Sammy Cap. Then I did some weird opacity erasing light stuff. This is sort of my way of producing something maybe kind of a little bit sorta nice-looking, while actually having no artistic skill whatsoever.

PS: It's supposed to be a sort of unobtrusive desktop background kind of deal, if you're wondering why there's a lone turtle in the corner facing all that blackness with just his little bulb. Anyway, everybody loves an underturtle!
Oh yeah, and any constructive criticism is welcomed and in fact asked for.

Sometime before May 2011 (That was my first multiplayer server - no monsters, damage and items could be dropped onto the ground to make them forget their durability - you could repair a pick by dropping and picking it up again).

I didn't save my first world as it was super embarassing - it was a snow world (so it was after snow was added, though there weren't biomes - the whole world was snow or not), without anyone to explain things to me and no wiki I had nearly everything built out of dirt.  Discovering the crafting bench and shovels were amazing, I discovered picks too, but not a furnace or chests so the base stayed pretty limited.  Steps down to the mine were made out of stone slabs (which used cobblestone back then) as there weren't stairs and I'm not sure I'd have found them if there were.

    Discovering doors blew my mind.

After that, there was a wiki and things were easy

    Hello my fellow Technicians ,

I'm not usually the one to bother anyone with anything associated with humanitarian actions because I think you are already bombarded with many ads for helping, but realising the lack of information about this and seeing my people (ex Yugoslavian countries) work together for the first time after many years has made me help all I can with our current situation..
We have declared a state of emergency and have been hit by a natural disaster likes of which we never saw before.. Devastation is worse than the bombing of Serbia when I was about 10 years old.. ( and I live in the capitol which is still scared from that event :/ )
I'm not asking you to spend any money, just a moment of your time. By sending that email (see details by following the link) it will, hopefully, make Google add a link to help us on their homepage..
I'm sad that I'm in a bad physical condition that is preventing me to go with my friends and other volunteers to help by placing sand bags and other physical work involved, so I have been helping in other ways I could.. This is one of them..
I really don't want to be annoying and you don't have to do anything, I just felt obligated to at least ask some of you that might want to help so we could contribute and aid ones in need..

If you are by any chance interested in more info or ways to help, ask me, I'll do my best to answer..

    Thank you for reading!

(I have read the rules and I think I'm not breaking any, that's the last thing I want to do.. I have no gain from this and I'm not advertising any web site or service etc.. I'm just trying to help out..)

He didn't feel like playing mine craft any more. Technically he didn't need to stay, but his dev team hasn't done a good job.
The developer didn't like technic, so he added some code that corrupted worlds if forestry detected that it was part of Technic or Tekkit. Sengir has since taken the code out and apologized, but I guess somebody at technic holds a grudge.

I think it was in late 2010 or early 2011 (Can't recall the version). I was in medical school and would come home from spending 12-14 hours in anatomy lab and sit down to play for a few hours while watching youtube in the background.

I can remember, being such a noob, my first Redstone contraption was trying to get double doors to open simultaneously with a button. Still can't manage to get it right, lol.

It's pretty amazing how far things have come in Mincraft. Wish I had more time to invest in it.

Big welcome to me new buddy. We will push this project to the new limits of minecraft modding universe.  Limits created and overcome by same people. Us. E.R.A.M. will have no competition creating and winning its own era of detailed, functional and massive builds with custom modpacks. Heil...viva E.R.A.M. !   To feed some media-hungry players here is my 1day work. Its underground testing laboratory for my CC programmer. Yes this will be all his and full of CC....ehm....stuff? (seriously he need nothing as we have portable computers now)   Front view on entrance tube, middle corridor and control tower.   Control tower and air-vents in full glory...   A bit of side-shot on 1305blocks long monstrosity.   Of course i will add more details.   This lady has some sexy legs... ;P   More soon!

I got this game a couple days ago and it's really awesome, I've probably dumped 20 hours into it so far. If any of you like the Buildcraft and Industrial Craft aspects of technic, you should totally check out Factorio. You tech up your industry and production, harvest resources, and pollute the air (which causes the wild life to attack you). Has a lot of depth and it's very fun building up your factory. They're releasing multiplayer soon (they've been focusing on it for a couple weeks now).

    @jominer247:

You are providing anecdotal evidence for processes and engineering solutions you obviously understand poorly at best. Disconsented has provided links to clear evidence that some of your statements/observations (specifically related to Linux) are blatantly incorrect. Your anecdotal observations about RAM allocation/usage and your (frankly amusing) references to "MHz" are misleading and unhelpful.

I don't say this to poke at you or be purposefully negative (although there might be a bit of snark up there). The community is made richer when more folks contribute more and varied support for everything from making a modpack to running a server. However, a lot of people who come to these forums have little engineering and/or other technical background and take what they see as gospel without doing their own research. Bold claims about minimum requirements need to be supported with clear evidence from the community/industry both to show that you are accurate and complete but also to provide a way for people to better educate themselves about the subject matter.

Modpacks require a unique "slug" which is what you see at the end of the URL. While this is derived from the name of the pack (by default) you can subsequently change the pack name and the slug will stay the same.

dwwojcik got a reaction from disconsented in The suspected future of modding relating modpacks (technic, ftb, atlauncher)
Oh, it's not that big of a deal. Minecraft devs are talking about it all the time now, for example in the 14w17a description.
Mods are going to be resource packs. Minecraft has had the capability to load classes from resource packs since 1.6, actually, that's how the forge installer works with the new launcher.

FtB mod packs peaked with the Mindcrack pack, ever since then it's been a steep down hill.

How would that work for something like collecting fares at a train station?
I think item cash would be best. I don't know if a tombstone mod was planned, but that would solve the death problem. Anyway, I don't envision people carrying more than a handful of change with them unless they're going shopping.

Besides, it's more fun to see your money in your inventory as opposed to a number in the chat, and I feel like it's truer to Minecraft.

Hey! I'm asie and I make mods. Sometimes.

I made a few mods recently:
Computronics - adds tape players, chat boxes, iron note blocks, raytracing cameras and a few other niceties to ComputerCraft and OpenComputers, AsieFixes - some tweaks I find nice and Metallurgy compatibility for Foundry and Mekanism, ReCreate - rearranging creative tabs is now easy!, a lot of forks - ports of many mods to 1.7.2, a fork of Chisel that focuses on bugfixing and is used by TPPI. I also made a few mods which are currently abandoned, but if you ask nicely enough I offer support for them:
EnderNet - inter-server item and message transmission (P2P!), Stackalizer - a very simple and semi-broken replacement to WR-CBE without 90% of the features. I also run a blog detailing my latest rants in the world of mining and crafting right here.

Obligatory Screenshots (changes whenever I feel like it):

Since JAKJ has been rather scarce lately and Redstone in Motion is too good to let die and open source, and no one else has stepped up to develop it further, I've decided to continue it.  Out of respect for JAKJ's request that forks don't use the same name, I'll call my version "Remain in Motion".
