TheBytemaster Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 "boy love back specialist" ? these spambots turned really creepy suddenly... Anywho, has anyone heard anything about a new version of tekkit any time soon? I looked around a bit but couldn't find anything useful. Quote
Moderators Munaus Posted September 23, 2015 Moderators Posted September 23, 2015 I've heard something and it's quite surprising, if Technic goes through with it Quote
Lethosos Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 Perhaps, perhaps not. Could be worth being excited about, given mods like Immersive Engineering and whatnot is out now. Quote
dwwojcik Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 and it's quite surprising, if Technic goes through with it Surprising? Oh no, prepare for a barrage of "Tekkit sucks without IC2"-esque complaints. Quote
planetguy Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 "Tekkit sucks without Thermal Expansion" maybe? Anyhow, I'm glad to hear some news about Tekkit. Quote
dwwojcik Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 "Tekkit sucks without Thermal Expansion" maybe? Anyhow, I'm glad to hear some news about Tekkit. Oh no. Don't even joke about that. Quote
EvilOwl Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Oh no. Don't even joke about that. How about "Tekkit with Railcraft"? Quote
EvilOwl Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Let's go nuts with that... "Tekkit with Railcraft and Forestry" (I would faint if that happened) Quote
Valkon Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 We can take it further. "Tekkit with GregTech". Quote
EvilOwl Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Looks like I was right... It's out, holy crap! http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/tekkit-legends.735902/mods Quote
Moderators Munaus Posted September 24, 2015 Moderators Posted September 24, 2015 Railcraft and Forestry in Technic. Who would have thought that..... maybe pigs will fly tomorrow aswell? Quote
dwwojcik Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I definitely didn't see that coming. Railcraft? Forestry? No TE? O.O Quote
TheBytemaster Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 (edited) "We've decided on an entirely new exciting direction for Tekkit, and as a result, Tekkit will no longer feature Thermal Expansion, Project Red, Calclavia Core, Buildcraft, Galcticraft, qCraft, Carpenter's Blocks, Applied Energistics, Mystcraft, or Steve's Carts. In order to focus on this new revolutionary direction, going forward, Tekkit will exclusively contain Magic-focused, Gun-focused, and Sword Art Online-themed mods." Yeah guys, that's what's going to... Wait, Forestry? Railcraft? Somehow that's even weirder. Pffft, "Explosive History" you guys kill me. Edited September 24, 2015 by TheBytemaster Lethosos 1 Quote
EvilOwl Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 This leaves some place for another modpack... Quote
Teraku Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) The new Tekkit Legends does contain Buildcraft, though. Interesting new direction they're going for. I guess it fits with the modpack's theme. It does explain the absence of most tech mods. I really like Project E, even though it's probably as unbalanced as EE2 was. With the new mod direction, I doubt it'll matter much however. Hopefully a new Tekkit modpack like the space-y Tekkit is on the to-do list. At least I'll have Tekkit legends and the 1.7.10 modpack to hold me over. Edited September 25, 2015 by Teraku Quote
holymage! Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 i touch minecraft a couple days ago and made a dirt cave and a mine down to around Y30....i haven't touched it since Quote
Teraku Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) Well, I mean, if it's that specific, these spambots might be finding a gap in the market which nobody ever knew (or ever wanted to know) existed. It's a great strategy. Possibly. Sooner or later, everyone will want "boy love back specialist", whatever that means. Just watch. Let's go nuts with that... "Tekkit with Railcraft and Forestry" (I would faint if that happened) You're either an insider or a psychic. Possibly both. Edited September 25, 2015 by Teraku Quote
EvilOwl Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Yeah. I'm spying people for new modpacks... Also, now I can't access my user profile. I want to change my avatar, but the page won't load. It just says there's an Error. Looks like it's fixed. People keep saying that I'm always not happy, one of my (modpack maker) friends told me I should use this as my avatar on all the possible sites :/ Lethosos 1 Quote
dwwojcik Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) Looks like it's fixed. So it is. Fantastic. Edited September 25, 2015 by dwwojcik Quote
TheBytemaster Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Alright, question time. I've got this fresh install of Debian 8 on an old-ish machine that is suitable for a minecraft server. (And a killer upload speed of about 30mbit/s to boot.) I was planning on running a Tekkit Legends server for us all to romp around on. My problem is, I rather dislike the OP-ness of Equivalent Exchange. I was thinking of maybe disabling it, disabling certain parts of it, or changing the recipes. What opinions do you nerds normal attractive people have on this matter? I haven't played with EE in heaven-knows how long, so maybe my dislike of EE is a tad misplaced. I'm perfectly willing to leave it untouched if that's what you guys want. Otherwise, if I were to change/disable it, what would be the cleanest way to do it? Quote
EvilOwl Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 ...normal attractive people... Just remove it. Lethosos 1 Quote
planetguy Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 A Tekkit Legends server of our own? Count me in! I'd host one myself, but my computer and Internet aren't much good. Quote

Not sure how substantial the modpack is without Project E, but I guess you could remove it if you wanted to. It is rather OP. Edited September 25, 2015 by Teraku Quote
TheBytemaster Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) Er... So I just installed and ran the server. I've got plenty of RAM, but CPU wise... not quite sure yet. The pack is beefier than I thought. I'll do some testing, (when I get the chance, probably in 4-5 hours), to see if it's up to par. Nevermind, it's dropping ticks. Sorry for getting your hopes up, but I don't have any available hardware much stronger than this. EDIT: I have an idea. I'll have to test it out, will let you know if it works, might be a few days.
